There's nothing significant going on in this video as it relates to the election. I just think it's funny. Even funnier is what the face wiper, restaurant owner Joseph Melluso, had to say about the whole thing. It was raining when he came in and he was dripping, so I took a wad of napkins and I dabbed his face. I'm a chef and when I'm cooking, my assistants always wipe my face with a towel and I appreciate it. Then I noticed there was a piece of paper stuck to the corner of his mouth and I thought, *I don't want to have our next president with paper towel on his face*. I was tryi... more »

Progresss Comes to Ireland

This is great news for Ireland but there's a heckuva long way to go yet. The first private abortion clinic will open in Belfast next week. Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK where the Abortion Act 1967 does not apply, owing to opposition from the churches and almost all the parties at the Stormont assembly. Like their counterparts in the Republic, where abortions are illegal, women from Northern Ireland have to travel to elsewhere in Britain for terminations. But the clinic will provide only medical abortions and the National Health Service won't cover the pretty hefty pric... more »

Mark Daniels at Global Political Awakening - 5 hours ago
3D Printer future of manufacturing? *Activist Post* * *Whenever a new technology is created that has the potential to offer more opportunity and freedom to the average human being, we must listen to the "concerns" generated by major industry and governments. With the Internet, we hear the propaganda that what we know to be a level playing field of the free market of ideas is perceived by those in power as a "potential terrorist recruiting source." In this way, there is a full spectrum of excuses that can be employed for overt suppression, or de facto suppression through regulation,... more »

Pressure on Madrid to accept latest bailout

Lynsey at The Coming Crisis - 5 hours ago
*Spain's government came under pressure on Wednesday night to accept rescue funds from Brussels after the credit ratings agency Standard & Poor's downgraded the country to BBB-, just above junk status.* S&P said it had lowered the rating on Spain's debts two notches following a slump in its fortunes that meant its recession would be longer and unemployment higher than expected. The agency also cited the increase in social unrest and the probable rise in tensions between central government and the regions. "The downgrade reflects our view of mounting risks to Spain's public finance... more »

It does not get better than this in terms of investigative chemistry. I suspect that any deeper will be meaningless. I do not expect this to make a lot of difference in terms of work in chemistry as the theory itself has been rather sufficient. It may open nic... more »

Magnets Kill Cancer Cells

There is a lot we do not understand in terms of cellular response to magnetic fields let alone with iron nano particles. This needs to be systematically studied and made over into a body of work. Rather useful in spite of the reality that it has barely been exploited. Lesser solutions retain precedence. What we learn here is that the correct magnetic setup can hugely affect a... more »

THE BALI BOMBINGS REVISITED - AGAIN

*As the anniversary approaches it's worth reminding ourselves of what this was really all about. I first posted this in April 2009.* *It's about how the Howard government attempted to get Australians on board for war against Iraq.* Some ten days ago a former Australian Security and Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) officer, James Sievers, appeared in a Canberra, Australia, court to answer charges that he had copied secret intelligence documents and had them posted to ‘The Australian’ newspaper. The documents were about warnings during the period leading up to the 12 October 2002 Bali... more »

alien dream - detachable memory modules - communication protocol

Mike Philbin at FREE PLANET - 9 hours ago
I drew this sketch of a dream I'd just had - it's rough because it was 6:01 a.m. at the time and the alarm had just gone off at 6:00 a.m. and I was still sorta waking up. Since September the 1st 2012, I'd re-opened a Dream Diary. In an effort to connect or communicate with whatever DREAMS are; be they simple ordering of the day's events, dreaming for those who can't or some sort of inter-stellar communication device between the galaxies. I have no idea; but I love experimentation. All through September, I had this series of laborious, pointless and 'messageless' dreams. I wrote... more »

Matt at The Coming Crisis - 11 hours ago
Turkey seized "objectionable cargo" aboard the Syrian passenger plane which it intercepted en route from Moscow to Damascus on Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, according to an AFP report. "There is illegal cargo on the plane that should have been reported" in line with civil aviation regulations, Davutoglu was quoted as saying by the Anatolia news agency. "There are elements on board that can be considered objectionable," he added, without elaborating. The confiscated cargo might be missile parts, NTV news channel reported. The plane, carrying 35 passenger... more »

9/11 Hardliners And False Flag Fundamentalists Target Syria And America For Destruction

Saman Mohammadi at The Excavator - 11 hours ago
*False flag fundamentalists took over the United States of America. Their holy book contains fables, too.* "This foreign policy has created more enemies than it has vanquished," writes Senator Rand Paul in a *piece* that aims to bring some level of rationalism to Mitt Romney's foreign policy and the general debate about what America should do in Syria. The more voices calling for diplomacy to resolve the Syrian crisis, the better. The growing conflict between Syria and Turkey can easily ignite the whole region and create this century's biggest humanitarian disaster. Hillary Ma... more »

Jonathan Bernstein at A plain blog about politics - 11 hours ago
A little explanation. You have to understand that Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein didn't, in any even vaguely direct sense, bring down Richard Nixon. I haven't much mentioned press coverage of Watergate to date, and I won't much in the future. To the extent that press coverage was important, a lot of it was just normal reporting on public events -- indictments, trials, hearings; the certainty that such things would be widely known constrained and influenced actors throughout the process. And yet, it's too strong to say that investigative reporting was entirely irrelevant. Without... more »

Coming Next: TSA Taser Bracelets?

Matt at The Coming Crisis - 12 hours ago
The TSA’s security policies are getting more and more bizarre, from testing people’s drinks for explosives to ordering all travelers to freeze on command, but could a frightening policy that was seriously explored by the DHS be resurrected – forcing people to wear taser bracelets that would deliver an electric shock if they got out of line? The story sounds like it belongs in a South Park episode or on an urban myths website – but it was actually true. In 2008, the Washington Times reported on how DHS official Paul S. Ruwaldt of the Science and Technology Directorate, office of Res... more »

*Facebook was caught out providing U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission officials inaccurate and inflated estimates of the number of its users and ultimately its worth just a week before the company's disastrous IPO, it emerged today. * A flurry of 12 letters between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Facebook depict a reluctant management team repeatedly playing cat-and-mouse over official requests to release figures and in the end being forced to withdraw information that was in reality guess work at best. Amnesty: China forced evictions in 'significant rise'

Lynsey at The Coming Crisis - 12 hours ago
*Forced evictions in China have risen significantly in recent years as local officials sell off land to property developers, Amnesty International says.* Many cases involve violence and harassment, in what the group called "a gross violation of human rights". Pressure on local officials to meet economic goals and vested interests were behind the coercion, it said. These evictions are a rumbling cause of social discontent and have led to protests across the country. All land in China is effectively controlled by the state, and laws allow local governments to claim land for urban d... more »

I love fall and Halloween and my favorite part of both has to be pumpkins. I love carving them, painting them and cooking with them. Real pumpkins can be a great prop. I usually line the inside of the pumpkin with a rag or towel to keep the baby's from touch the slimy insides and crying. If the baby you are working with is a little bit bigger, you can cut leg holes in the pumpkin to give their little legs some place to go. My advice with leg holes is cut the bigger than y... more »
