The Internet Archive is a project that was started 16 years ago to create a historical record of the Web's growth and development. But this virtual library
doesn't hold only web pages in its collection. It also has hundreds of
thousands of movies, millions of songs - including live versions
performed in concerts- along with maps, text items, software and more.
Last week, the Archive celebrated a new milestone: it has now saved 10 petabytes' worth of the web. (That's 10 to the 15th power!)
This announcement coincided with something of special interest to our friends in Indonesia: the Balinese Digital Library collection is now also part of the Internet Archive. It contains music, dance, videos - and lots of other material related to the culture of Bali.
Check out the Internet Archive today and see what kinds of new and interesting (or old and interesting!) things you can discover.
