By all indications, the US ruling class of Wall Street financiers is
determined to follow Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Great Britain down the
road to drastic austerity. The financiers of lower Manhattan are thus
ignoring the evidence offered by these other countries showing that
austerity policies reduce employment, lower production, cause severe mass

increase the government budget deficits in future years -- meaning that
austerity fails even in its own terms.

A judge must be cautious before "jumping" a sentence

Judges are not limited by submissions of the Crown in sentencing. That
said, as the Court of Appeal notes today in R. v. Menary, 2012 ONCA 706
'jumping' a sentence is only done following procedural steps:

'jumping' the Crown's position on sentence (60 to 90 days' imprisonment)

With the quadrennial series done, pundits are putting their debate-story

The fact remains that Lance Armstrong's feat was impossible, just as it is
presently impossible to withstand modern athletic training without a little

The protocol is simple. Train to your limit. Use steroids to recover.
Repeat. What would be a multi day recovery cycle becomes a few hours

campaign on the Tour de France.
Training to your limit means blowing your muscles out for days. I did it

My post is up over at PP -- it's all about Mitt Romney, and the policy gap.

reactions at all outside of what I saw on twitter during the debate.
I see now that the instapolls are on Barack Obama's side again this time,

One thing was for sure during the final debate – foreign policy was the
last thing either of them wanted to actually talk about with both of them
trying their hardest to cut back to discussing domestic issues or circle

As far as Iran was concerned, both agreed that here were ‘red lines’ that
could not be crossed. However, neither seemed sure where those ‘red lines’
were; or, if they did, they weren’t saying.

Sometimes you have to wish the Crazy Critters of the Combined Crackpot-Thug
Right could be induced to pay at least occasional visits to reality. Take
the case of Crackpot-Thugs vs. Public Broadcasting. Because the dimwits and
liars have no idea what actually goes on on either public radio or public
television, they have no idea how much of it would gladden the heart of
even the most heartless oligarch.

Sometimes The REAL Truth Does Leak Out: Greece Is NOT Poor - It Actually Has Massive Untapped Reserves Of Gold, Oil, And Natural Gas!
Northerntruthseeker at Northerntruthseeker - 17 hours ago
For the longest times the LIARS in the mainstream media have talked about
the "plight" of Greece and how that "poor" nation must accept criminal
Jewish Rothschild "austerity" measures to save itself from economic
disaster. I have long called on the Greek people to never accept these
criminal measures, because it will mean perpetual debt enslavement to these
criminals!
I came across a most interesting article that I want to share with my
readers in my own blog. It comes from the website: "The Economic Collapse"

Mischaracterizations of the L'Aquila Lawsuit Verdict
noreply@blogger.com (Roger Pielke, Jr.) at Roger Pielke Jr.'s Blog - 18 hours ago
Today in Italy 6 scientists were convicted of manslaughter in an Italian
court based on their provision of allegedly faulty information. *Nature*reports
:
At the end of a 13-month trial, six scientists and one government official
have been found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to six years in
prison. The verdict was based on how they assessed and communicated risk
before the earthquake that hit the city of L'Aquila on 6 April 2009,
killing 309 people.
There is a popular misconception in circulation that the guilty verdict was
based on the scientists' failure to accurately for... more »
The Whale That Talked
Pippa at Pippa's Place - Environmentally Speaking - 18 hours ago
The real NOC. Photo courtesy: Discover Magazine
“Who told me to get out?” asked a diver, surfacing from a tank in which a
whale named NOC lived. The beluga’s caretakers had heard what sounded like
garbled phrases emanating from the enclosure before, and it suddenly dawned
on them that the whale might be imitating the voices of his human handlers.
The outbursts — described today in Current Biology and originally at a 1985
conference — began in 1984 and lasted for about four years, until NOC hit
sexual maturity, says Sam Ridgway, a marine biologist at National Marine

Five years ago Lloyd Alter of TreeHugger.com complained about Herzog and de

thought that it signified the end of the condo boom in Condo Design Jumps

Now it is back, and so are his concerns. Only this time it is much more

Génération Identitaire take a stand against the destruction of France

In Poitiers, the enemies of France are pouring vast amounts of money at the

shameful behaviour of the pro-indigenous groups in the UK, who lamely march

The people in charge at the US agencies and military know the presidential
election scheduled for November 8th will be a fraud and a sham no matter
what the outcome. That is why many reliable sources are saying US militias
and reserve troops were put on alert last week. They have either started to
mobilize either to pre-empt the elections and put the Joint Chiefs of Staff
in charge of an interim government or to get ready to act in anticipation
of post-election v... more »
