Additional, tighter price regulation adopted in 2012 in Venezuela
Amid an electoral year, a price revision was undertaken in regulated agricultural products, namely rice, corn, sunflower, sorghum, soy, and coffee to secure sowing plans and raw material for the production of finished food
Another 18 finished products are still awaiting revision: precooked corn
flour, rice, coffee, beef, chicken, powder and pasteurized milk, pasta,
bread, among others.
It is believed that price adjustments will be carried out incrementally in order to preserve the downward trend of inflation.
