Rehabilitative prospects a mitigating factor in sentencing
James C Morton at Morton's Musings - 18 minutes ago
R. v. Gouliaeff, 2012 ONCA 690 is a good source for the principle that
rehabilitative prospects are a mitigating factor in sentencing:

appellant's rehabilitative potential. The evidentiary record indicates that
the appellant made some efforts to comply with the law regarding the proper
storage of firearms and there appears to be little prospect of his
reoffending. However, the reasons suggest that the appellant's
rehabilitative prospects were treated as a neutral factor or "non-issue" -

The Value of Consensus Building

Greenpeace Occupy Action on Taiwan overfishing
Michael Turton at The View from Taiwan - 7 hours ago
Taiwan's fishing practices are a sore point with Pacific nations and with
world environmental groups. Case in point: Greenpeace occupied K-town shipbuilding

The Fisheries Agency yesterday denied accusations that Taiwan is complicit
in overfishing in the western and central Pacific Ocean, saying the
building of fishing vessels is strictly controlled by the government and
that all newly built fishing vessels are replacements of old boats.

“What did the first galaxies look like? To help answer this question, the
Hubble Space Telescope has just finished taking the eXtreme Deep Field
(XDF), the deepest image of the universe ever taken in visible light.
Pictured above, the XDF shows a sampling of some of the oldest galaxies
ever seen, galaxies that formed just after the dark ages, 13 billion years
ago, when the universe was only a few percent of its present age.

Benghazi murders are Obama’s hostage crisis
Peter Cresswell at Not PC - 13 hours ago
One thing I was struck by in the recent US Vice Presidential debates was
how the candidates of both major parties seem now to both accept the fact
that the attack on the US’s Benghazi embassy and the murder of the US
Ambassador and three of his staff was not an over-excited protest over a
YouTube clip that coincidentally occurred on the anniversary of 9/11, but a
concerted terrorist attack.
As Mark Steyn points out, this concession follows weeks of lying.
There was no demonstration against an Islamophobic movie that just got a
little out of hand. Indeed, there was no movie protest... more »

pretty, is it not? It is, in fact, an image of something invisibly small,
so small and so beyond apprehension by the unaided senses that it can only
be represented schematically, in his case as a TinkerToy construction of

What is it? The stick-and-ball construction is the "cuddle" hormone,

New Video By Snordelhans: NWO Is Dead On Arrival

I came across an interesting video that I wanted to share in an article
here with my own readers. It comes from Patrick Willis, aka "Snordelhans"
and is entitled: "NWO Is Dead On Arrival".
First, I have that video right here for everyone to view for themselves,
and I do have my usual thoughts and comments to follow:
NTS Notes: The fact is that with everyone finally beginning to wake up to
the real criminals who are out for world domination, the goals of this "New
World Order" are definitely becoming increasingly unattainable.
My biggest fear is that since we are dealing with... more »

*In every interaction expect to find a loving response*
10/14/2012 by John Smallman
Your awakening is divinely assured, and you know that deep in your hearts.
Make a point of going to that place within frequently each day, where
awareness of your divine nature dwells, to remind yourselves of how dearly
your Father loves you, because it is very easy for you to be wholly caught
up in the distractions of daily living, and so forget your reason for being
on Earth right now.
You are all conduits for His Love, and it is essential that you keep those
conduits fully open so that the ... more »

Experience especially in the last few months shows that human nature is
very susceptible to Archons' physical and non-physical influence.
Archons succeeded in fragmenting the liberation movement. Surface positive
groups were infiltrated and corrupted, those that remained pure were
ridiculed and attacked. Any ideas from you about how to reduce the
fragmentation of positive groups and achieve more unity among them before

Hello my friends. It’s quite funny how some of your ‘fans’ write in and
comment on the fact that you keep on talking about LOVE and wondering when
you are ‘going to change the record’ so to speak . Would you care to
comment on that.

regarding that matter other than ‘WE LOVE YOU’! With all respect for all …

I think the entire internets have a love/hate thing going with Jake Tapper,
but today he won the hearts or minds of the left. Don't watch the
bobbleheads anymore but assume he was hosting on ABC this morning when Jake
Tapper confronted Rob Portman on Romney's continuing relationship with
Bain:
TAPPER: In Ohio especially, Governor Romney has been making a big issue
about cracking down on China and China’s cheating. There is this other
issue though, Governor Romney gets a cut of the profits from Bain Capital’s

Video Glimpse Tucson Meet Yourself 2012
brendanorrell@gmail.com at CENSORED NEWS - 14 hours ago
A brief glimpse at the colors and beauty of Tucson and the Sonoran
Desert cultures at today's Tucson Meet Yourself folklife festival. The
three day annual event included international food booths, artists, low
riders, and a wide diversity of music on numerous stages for three days,
including traditional Yaqui and Tohono O'odham singers and dancers (who
were not filmed out of respect.) From the Sonoran tortillas, chiles and
mesquite cookies, to the foods from Colombia, Russia, India, and Sweden,
along with strong black Arabian coffee, it was an incredible global feast.

MACHINEOF THE DAY: Mars Rover

One-hundred years ago we were just beginning to leave the ground, for brief
periods, in contraptions made of wood and canvas.
Now, not only do people parachute back to earth from the stratosphere, men
sit at their desks on earth controlling on a far distant planet a small
robotic machine designed to explore and investigate—controlling it as if
they were there and sitting in its cockpit.
It’s easy to take this stuff for granted.
Which is why a new book by William J. Clancey about Mars’s robotic

Policies that Benefit the Wealthiest ...

I remember hearing for over a decade about how Brian Mulroney, then Jean
Chretien, the Paul Martin, the Mike Harris, etc., etc., ... all were
accused of pushing tax-cuts that benefited the wealthiest and which would
deny governments of revenues to help the poor and the middle class.
Now, here we have a rancid turd like Dalton McGuinty pushing austerity and
declaring tax increases on the wealthiest as off-limits. We've had an
explosion of inequality as the richest 1% got something like 15% of all the
income gains of the past decade.
You know, given that harper and McGuinty are pro... more »

"Were it not for certain nuclear whistle blowers and outside, independent
experts, the public would have to rely on the glib and technically
inaccessible reports from Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) or the
Japanese government. Not that those reports are entirely without substance,
but due to the incomprehensible technical jargon most people simply throw
up their hands and hope for the best.
