All that could be done was to ensure all the physics available was more or

This is actually quite an achievement and was always challenging to the

The recent violence and increasing tensions in Egypt, reflected in Tahrir

The first factor is the recent court decision to release 23 people from

Some of the accused were high-ranking government officials in the Mubarak

Why don't more corporate media outlets challenge President Obama on his
criminal drone strike assassination policy? New York Times Public Editor
Margaret Sullivan not only asks that question in her Sunday column -- she
challenges her own newspaper to step up to the plate and actually do its
job, and become relentless in demanding accountability from our
increasingly secretive government.
Taking her cue from the recent Stanford/NYU report that used interviews
with Pakistani civilians in order to disprove White House claims of little
to no "collateral damage", Ms. Sullivan posits tha... more »
Global warming stopped 16 years ago, reveals British government report quietly released... and here is the chart to prove it...Collecting Funds didn't stop 16 years ago!
Lynsey at The Coming Crisis - 13 hours ago
The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new
data
released last week.
The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists,
reveal
that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there was no
discernible
rise in aggregate global temperatures.

Save Unsuccessful Charter Schools (SUCS), Now!
P. L. Thomas at Schools Matter - 13 hours ago
Increasingly over the past decade, children and their parents all across
the U.S. are choosing to enroll in or are being chosen to attend charter
schools that are average or failing. Since these children are our future,
we must organize now and help reform the struggling charter school
movement; thus, I am forming Save Unsuccessful Charter Schools (SUCS).
The facts about charter schools in the U.S. are stunning :
• Students attending charter schools sit in schools, when compared to
traditional public schools, that are overwhelming average and below average
in student outcomes.

*Today may have been the best day of the whole year. Dongji Rd, north of
Dongshih.*
The Taipei Times reports on some of the fallout from this silliness:
About 10 percent of Japanese tour groups with bookings to visit Taiwan have
canceled their travel plans amid a territorial dispute over the Diaoyutai
Islands (釣魚台), local media reported.
Located about 185km northeast of Taiwan, the Diaoyutais — known as the
Senkaku Islands in Japan — have been under Japan’s control since 1972, but
are also claimed by Taiwan and China.
The second sentence contains a gross error, as the islands hav... more »

HEART
OF DARKNESS 2012: Northern Myanmar, aka Burma, where people are being
driven from their lands and exterminated, a kind of jungle genocide. And
behind it, our inscrutable capitalists, the Chinese. According to the
Aljazeera account by Jason Motlagh, "Blood and Gold: Inside Burma's
Hidden War", the horror shows no signs of stopping.
So far, more than 75,000 ethnic Kachin civilians have

Al Qaeda head urges Holy War over anti-Islam film... but stops short of claiming responsibility for Libyan embassy attack
Lynsey at The Coming Crisis - 14 hours ago
The Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has said a film made in the United
States mocking the Prophet Mohammad showed Washington was waging a
'crusader Zionist war' against Muslims and he called for more protests
outside American embassies.

Rebalancing The Economy
Owen Gray at Northern Reflections - 14 hours ago
The *Globe and Mail *reports that former Bank of Canada Governor David
Dodge suggests that the bitumen from the Tar Sands be routed to Eastern
Canada. Because energy is the lifeblood of industrial economies, he
suggests that giving Canadian industry access to Alberta's oil is better
than readjusting the equalization formula. Unfortunately, with their
characteristic tunnel vision, the Conservatives are fixated on Asia:
By and large, the philosophy at the moment is a pure hands-off philosophy,
i.e. ‘Let today’s market and today’s relative prices determine what
happens,’ with relat... more »
31 Days of Photo Props: Religious
Debra at Housewife Eclectic - 14 hours ago
There are few things more precious to a religious person than their
religion. It is such a big part of them, and something that can be
represented in their photographs. A lot of the baby sessions I photograph
include pictures of the little ones in their christening outfits. I often
shoot these photographs against a white backdrop to keep the soft feel of
the photograph. I usually also shoot a few photographs against a black
backdrop, to help the detail of their outfits to stand out.
Somethings like baby baptisms, people don't think to hire a photographer
for. I usually remind th... more »
Shots fired as police swoop 10 minutes before 100 followers of Brazilian doomsday cult were due to commit mass suicide over end of the world
Lynsey at The Coming Crisis - 14 hours ago
- The largest recorded cult suicide was in 1978 when People's Temple
leader Jim Jones inspired 918 of his followers to kill themselves in Guyana
by drinking cyanide.
- From 1994 to 1997, members of the Order of the Solar Temple sect began
a series of mass suicides, which lead to around 74 deaths.
- In 1997, 39 followers of the Heaven's Gate cult died in a mass suicide
in Rancho Santa Fe, California, believing their souls would journey aboard
a spaceship they believed to be following the Hale-Bopp comet.
