Prisoner Votes: Tory Anger Over Reported Plan
Lynsey at The Coming Crisis - 1 minute ago
Prime Minister David Cameron has previously said the idea of giving
prisoners the vote made him "physically ill".
Ministers are preparing to launch a draft bill to comply with a ruling by
the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) despite Parliament voting
overwhelmingly to maintain a blanket ban in February.

A vote for Tisei is a vote for this duo leading Congress
John Boehner, who the DCCC paid sure would have no opponent of his own to
force him to campaign in Ohio, has been stumbling around the country,
getting drunk and doing fundraisers for vulnerable Republican incumbents
and for promising GOP challengers who will help him carry out the toxic
right-wing agenda. He even wandered up to Massachusetts to campaign for the
conservative gay Republican, Richard Tisei. I was wondering if he and Gay

What seemed to emerge clearly from Monday night's final presidential debate
between incumbent Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Scumney
-- er, Romney, may have to get used to that if the bozo really gets elected

Oh, he was very well-coached for all three encounters, and did well enough
each time. An overscholarly Obama held him to a boring draw in the first
debate, then showed a clear edge in the second. In the third, he

According to a popular story, on one occasion Diogenes had an interview

Alexander then asked him in what way he could serve him. "You can stand out

So, your Nobel Peace Prize-winning European Union is demanding that
indebted nations like Greece and Portugal privatize all their water

stay in the Eurozone? Then hand over your most precious commons to
transnational corporations. This is in line with the broader privatization
agenda we're seeing all around the world - especially here in America as
water, roads, school, prisons - you name it - are all being privatized and

Ignore Those Polls! (Or At Least Be Wary)

Remember, most people do not have strong opinions about most policy
options. Therefore, the way they answer survey questions about issue
positions can be massively affected by current news events, opinion
leadership, question wording, and pretty much everything else. The effect
probably grows larger the less people know -- and think -- about the issue.
Something that's a long-standing policy question, or something that is part
of ordinary life, might produce relatively stable views; those issues which

Climate hysteria in presidential debates RIP (1988-2008)

In the hot summer of 1988, James Hansen gave his notorious and by now

Landowners in Eastern Montana have filed a lawsuit against Exxon Mobil

ample opportunity to shut down the pipeline and prevent the spill
altogether. Another lawsuit by a separate group of landowners is pending.
A section of the pipeline that was installed in 1991 had been scoured by
flooding over the years which eventually caused it to fail and spill 1,500
