“Any real change implies the breakup of the world as one has always known

such a moment, unable to see and not daring to imagine what the future will

Romney Fun Time
The Mound of Sound at The Disaffected Lib - 5 hours ago
Among Mitt Romney's gaffes in the second debate was his remark about
"binders full of women." When the subject of helping women achieve pay
equity came up, Mittsy dodged the subject by talking about his days as
Massachusetts governor. According to the latest Romney fable, he asked a
women's group to help find him qualified women candidates for his office
and he received "binders full of women."
A lot of women are up in arms at being so blatantly objectified by Romney
but *The Young Turks*, bless them, found a bit of humour in it.

The Costs of Keeping Cool
The Mound of Sound at The Disaffected Lib - 10 hours ago
North Americans had a tough and expensive time keeping cool over the
summer. A prolonged heat wave coupled with sustained drought (that
continues in many places) drove demand for plenty of air conditioning.
Know how much electricity Americans, in a normal year, consume for
cooling? More than the entire electrical consumption of the billion plus
population of Africa. Vehicle air conditioners are said to account for 7
to 10-billion gallons of gasoline annually.
And now, with the planet warming and billions in some of the hottest
regions coming into newfound prosperity, the dem... more »

Upstate New York Residents Question Environmental Quality of Legacy Site
Rachel Rindfleisch at Contaminated Nation - Water Contamination, Land Pollution & Hazardous Waste locations - 15 hours ago
By: Duane Craig
Regardless of what Watertown, N.Y. residents might want, the state’s
Department of Environmental Conservation says it won’t be doing any more
environmental testing at the former New York Air Brake site, according to
this article.
Besides residents, public officials are also concerned about high cancer
rates and other illnesses that affect the north side of that community. Of
increasing concern, is the possibility of vapor intrusion into nearby homes
from high levels of chemicals that have made their way into the soils
beneath the homes. DEC says it won’t be monitori... more »
Romney Returned Michael Grimm's Shady Cash-- Other Republicans, Like Charlie Bass And Richard Tisei Are Happy To Have It

The Romney-Ryan campaign has made it very clear-- even publicly clear--
that they don't want the two Mafia-connected Republican congressmen,
Michael "Mikey Suits" Grimm (Staten Island) and David "The Gangster"

Romney returned the $2,500 check Grimm sent his campaign. The only Mob

ALEC Privatization = Educational Apartheid

Amy Goodman was interviewing two influential people in the student

The Chilean educational system is run on an ALEC model – privatized. Chile
is/was run totally and completely for decades on an ALEC free market

Greece Is Not Poor - It Actually Has Massive Untapped Reserves Of Gold, Oil And Natural Gas

It turns out that the poster child for the European debt crisis is not
actually poor at all. In fact, the truth is that the nation of Greece is
sitting on absolutely massive untapped reserves of gold, oil and natural
gas. If the Greeks were to fully exploit the natural resources that are
literally right under their feet, they would no longer have any debt
problems.
Fortunately, this recent economic crisis has spurred them to action and it
is now being projected that Greece will be the number one gold producer in
Europe by 2016. In addition, Gree... more »

Big Pharma Giant Withdraws Major MS Drug, Increases Price by 20 Times

Corporate greed trumps noble intentions yet again in the world of Big
Pharma. Sanofi, the world’s fourth-largest pharmaceutical company, recently
withdrew the leukemia drug Alemtuzumab after 20 years of prescribing it,
off label, to treat multiple sclerosis patients. Sanofi and subsidiary
Genzyme cite intentions to apply for appropriate licensing—but before you
applaud the companies for following regulations, keep in mind that they
intend to rebrand and raise the cost of Alemtuzumab—by 15 to 20 times.

The Next Food Crisis Will Be Caused By Globalist Land-Grabs and Privatization

The UN warns that global food stores like grains are depleting at an
exponential rate; and when combined with failing harvests, there will be a
food crisis in 2013.
The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) explains that “we’ve not
been producing as much as we are consuming. That is why stocks are being
run down. Supplies are now very tight across the world and reserves are at
a very low level, leaving no room for unexpected events next year.”
Since 2010, the FAO has stated that the rise in food prices is directly

Global Food Reserves Have Reached Their Lowest Level In Almost 40 Years

For six of the last eleven years the world has consumed more food than it
has produced. This year, drought in the United States and elsewhere has
put even more pressure on global food supplies than usual.
As a result, global food reserves have reached their lowest level in almost

Experts are warning that if next summer is similar to this summer that it
could be enough to trigger a major global food crisis. At this point, the
world is literally living from one year to the next. There is simply not

Research: Pomegranate May Reverse Blocked Arteries

While technically a berry, pomegranate "fruit" may be nature's answer to
turning the tide against the #1 cause of death in the industrialized world:
heart disease. Let's start with what it tells us simply through
experiencing it...
Pomegranate has a remarkable astringency, giving your mouth and gums that
dry, puckering mouth feel. This cleansing sensation is technically caused,
as with all astringents, by shrinking and disinfecting your mucous
membranes.
Anyone who drinks pomegranate juice, or is lucky enough to eat one fresh,
can understand why it is ... more »

What Will the Price of Gold Be in January 2014?

While many of us at Casey Research don't like making price predictions, and
certainly ones accompanied by a specific date, it's hard to ignore the
correlation between the US monetary base and the gold price.
That correlation says we'll see $2,300 gold by January 2014.
There are plenty of long-term charts that show a connection between gold
and various other forms of money (and credit). Most show that one
outperforms until the other catches up. But let's zero in on our current
circumstances, namely the expansion of the US monetary base since the

The new Google privacy policy, which was updated earlier this year, is now

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer previously called for an investigation into

Kraft Factory Chemical Accident Leads to Deadly ‘Poison Cloud’

When workers at a German Kraft Foods facility accidentally poured nitric
acid into a tank of sodium hydroxide, 250 factory employees fled and 700
