Trash the vote
The GOP obviously can't win the election fair and square with their failed
policies, so they do what they always do lie, cheat, and steal Democratic
registration forms and throw them in the trash. This story broke last night
and it just gets weirder as it develops.
This guy was a supervisor of GOP registration drives in swing states. He
got caught throwing only eight forms away and only five of those were of
voters not yet registered with the state. It begins to feel like he
deliberatively got caught in a serious, but essentially petty crime in
order to minimize the extent of the f... more »
Gary Delong-- Global Warming Denier... In Southern California?
Thursday we looked at how hostile to Science-- the engine of all economic

reactionary trains of thought, Global Warming deniers are dominant in the
old slave-holding states of the Confederacy. But in Southern California?
Gary Delong, the Republican nominee who beat mainstream Republican Steve

stunning claim that he sees no scientific evidence of Climate Change. Does

Earth 'too hot for life' after mass extinction 250 million years ago
For five million years after the worst mass extinction in Earth history,
much of the planet was simply too hot for anything to survive, scientists
have claimed.
- Experts say 'broken world' that followed the Permian-Triassic mass
extinction meant no life for five million years in a huge 'dead zone'
- Temperatures in the tropics rose to lethal levels, soaring to 60C on
land and 40C in the sea

Benghazi was a Knowable Death Trap
I too thought that the situation was just an unpleasing surprise but not
particularly surprising. Random violence is part and parcel of the present
disarray in Islam. What we learn here is not so much that an attack was
made, but that the consulate was a sitting duck without any creditable
defense in a deteriorating security situation. Would sending in a marine
detachment to provide robust security, not be the first thing that you
would do? Why were they not there from day one? It still can be overrun but
not before they made a serious account of themselves.

What is unusual here is that the witnesses were able to rule out a bear.
Otherwise we would all have reasonably assumed a young bear running for

but quite unlikely as neither giant species appears to otherwise have made
it out of the Pleistocene. Beside, these are not so clever that human

Hog Hunting Bigfoot
This is a eight year old report brought to my attention through Drinnon's

because the witness observed and answered key questions while sitting up in

precariously in a tree while a lion does its business underneath.
The hunting skill is apparent and very effective. Dropping down onto all
fours like a gorilla in order to do its attack rush is completely new and
almost impossible to defend against and certainly prevents a successful

Freeze! Or the guide dog gets it! How could any police office (in broad daylight) confuse a white stick with a samurai sword?
According to the officer involved, he mistook Colin Farmer’s white stick

So when the 61-year-old stroke victim ignored an instruction to stop, the
cop pumped 50,000 volts into him.

Why The Nobel Peace Prize For The EU Is Flawed...... just like the EU itself
If the EU keeps on pushing for more centralized powers to be put in its own
hands, powers that will need to be taken away from member countries, it
will not be a force for peace, but for fighting in the streets and other
kinds of conflict and dissension. Not exactly Alfred Nobel's intention for
