Directions:
1. Make a paste with baking soda and water. Be sure the past is wet but thick enough to stay on where you are applying it.
2. Apply the baking soda paste all over the burn.
3. To keep the baking soda moist, put a plastic bag over the baking soda area.
4. Place a sock over the plastic bag if the burn is on a hand or foot, otherwise find a body-safe tape to affix the plastic bag over the baking soda mixture.
5. You should notice the pain almost completely disappearing from the burn within just a few minutes. Baking soda truly works wonders for burns!

So sad that the majority of Californians decided they don't want to know if there is poison in their food. Meanwhile, for those who DO care, just stop buying any products from companies that funded the opposition to Prop 37. If they don't want you to know what is in their food, don't buy it.

We always knew we were the underdogs, and the underdogs nearly took the day. Dirty money and dirty tactics may have won this skirmish, but they will not win the war.

The people of six states voted to take their freedom without federal “permission.”

In ten states – Colorado, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts and Alabama – voters had a chance to resist DC and approve ballot initiatives which would nullify unconstitutional federal acts. Six of them passed. And here’s a brief rundown of each:

‎"On 26 February 2003, one month before the invasion [of Iraq], Dr. Rafil Dhafir, a prominent cancer specialist in Syracuse, New York, was arrested by federal agents and interrogated about the charity he had founded, Help the Needy. Dr. Dhafir was one of many Americans, Muslims and non-Muslims, who for 13 years had raised money for food and medicines for sick and starving Iraqis who were the victims of sanctions. He had asked US officials if this humanitarian aid was legal and was assured it was — until the early morning he was hauled out of his car by federal agents as he left for his surgery. "

A Smart Politics analysis finds the 23-point deficit by Romney in Massachusetts makes his home state performance the second worst in history by any major party presidential nominee since the formation of the Democratic Party in 1828. The only presidential candidate to suffer a larger home state loss was the first-ever Republican nominee, John Frémont of California. Frémont received only 18.8 percent of the vote in California in 1856, good for a distant third place behind Democrat James Buchanan and third party candidate and former president Millard Fillmore.
I had a gentleman's bet with a mate about 3rd Party and Independent candidates for President. Despite the Sophie's Choice of Obama or Romney I bet that the other candidates would poll less than 3% in total. It appears that the Two Party System hoovered up all but a paltry 1.59% of the vote. I'm rather depressed to be right on this score.

Jeff Fujita says:
This caught my eye:
“During my time working in the city previously, my favourite aspect of the work was that I could always appeal to the bottom line. The ‘can do’ culture meant that rational changes and risks would be given the nod if they would result in a likely improvement. It was the complete opposite to the ossified bureaucratic culture I’d experienced working in the public sector. A core part of this however was an attendance to the truth – markets can be distorted and played of course – however ultimately they are a slave to truth, which is why market corrections and detection of bubbles is so important.”
In another blog, skeptics (or in the blogger’s insistence, “denialists”) are labeled as “do-nothings” and solidly entrenched in the status quo. Young Mr. Weston seems to possess an eye for bottom line results based on honest observations and questioning. It’s frustrating to know that such questioning is often perceived as obstructionist, especially when spending efficiency is so vital today.
mfo says:
Bloomberg LP is about making money from market information predominantly through its terminals, which is why it is so ironic that Mayor Bloomberg, after backing Obama, found the markets falling after seeing him reelected. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 2.36% today.
http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/INDU:IND
Bloomberg is now more dominant in providing financial information than Reuters and it sees green products as a huge opportunity to make money through Bloomberg New Energy Finance which it claims, “delivers independent and comprehensive coverage across the clean energy industry and carbon markets”.
An article in the Financial Times in 2011 stated:
“The global market for solar and wind power rose from $6.5bn to $132bn between 2000 and 2010, says Clean Edge, a US research firm. The number of hybrid electric car models around the world has risen from two to 30 over the same time. Certified green building numbers grew from three to 8,138. But we will still see failures such as Solyndra.”
Even Lord Browne former head of BP is now “a partner at US private equity firm Riverstone Holdings, a large investor in fossil fuels whose $3.5bn renewable energy fund is one of the world’s biggest.”
“And one thing is clear: as long as people can make money from green businesses, investment will grow. As Lord Browne puts it, “The fundamental underpinning of sustainability is profitability. Without profitability, it’s going to disappear.”
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/2d12cf38-05b7-11e1-a429-00144feabdc0.html#axzz2Ba0ARW5b
The Bloomberg headline more truthfully refers to those gullible investors who put their money into green energy products which, as Lord Browne says, without profitability, which in reality is subsidies from taxpayers, “is going to disappear”.
You can throw away your tinfoil hat away now. The mainstream media last week came out of the closet and had a real live Pro-Agenda 21 commercial on a mainstream media TV show.
I thought that was just a conspiracy theory. I guess I was bamboozled by the people who didn’t want me to know about it. I wonder what else they have in store for us.

CALFORNIA TO SUFFER GREATLY UNDER NEW GLOBAL WARMING LAWS July 23, 2012: "New Study on CA Global Warming Law Indicates Higher Costs", by Luci Ma, published by ivn.com (Independent Voter Network), San Diego, California.
"Andrew Chang & Company, which conducted the latest fiscal and economic impact study on behalf of CMTA, found that the average California family will end up paying an additional $2,500 annually by 2020 when AB 32 is fully implemented. In addition, the state is expected to lose an additional 262,000 jobs, 5.6 percent of the gross state product, and a whopping $7.4 billion through decreased annual state and local tax revenues as a result. Figures from the study were based on more conservative estimates, suggesting that expected costs could actually range much higher."

The attacks on Navajo water rights continue. Fortunately, many Navajo people are standing strong against the attacks. Keep up the good work. Water is life and there are no substitutes!
via Angela Davis (thanks for posting your comments)

November 7, 2012

Yah’at’eeh. My name is Angela Marie Davis. I am an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and participate in my chapter’s elections. I am writing in regard to Legislation 0468-12 because I do not approve of it. It is the same as S2109, with a few ame
ndments, forcing the Navajo Nation to give up our treaty-guaranteed first priority water rights to both the Upper and Lower Colorado River. In fact, it would give us only forth priority rights to our water. That is unacceptable. First of all, I do not appreciate our tribal water rights lawyer, Stanley Pollock (a non-Navajo) writing and submitting this piece of legislation without the approval of the Navajo Nation’s Water Right’s Task Force. Secondly, I am alarmed that our Water Rights Task Force is not up in arms about not being consulted beforehand about the legislation. If they are not outraged by this, they are not doing their jobs and need to be replaced.

The people have already spoken against S2109 and HR 4067. What makes one think we would approve of this piece of nearly identical legislation, when we already said no the first time? Perhaps Stanley Pollock thought we would not notice this is the basically same bill with the same raw end of the deal for our people. Furthermore, I think it is awfully convenient that the tiny deadline to comment on the legislation happened to fall on the day after the U.S. Presidential election. Perhaps he was hoping we would be too distracted by it to notice him trying to pass this legislation without our knowledge or consent. If that is the case, his plan did not work. We are aware of what he is doing and will not stand for any of it.

The legislation offers promises funding for expanding a water pipeline to certain areas of the Navajo Nation, if and only if, this settlement is approved. Our people do need running water, but not by hasty coercion, empty promises and giving up our aboriginal rights. I also would like to point out that the settlement would still prevent us from suing the State of Arizona, or other outside interest groups from damages done to the water. If this settlement is so good for our people, why do they demand this immunity? The State of Arizona has no jurisdiction on our federal land held in trust, and should not have any power over our water. Furthermore, I read the 85-page legislative document and noticed that family allotments were included within the proposed water settlement. This includes my family’s allotments in New Mexico and we were never notified by anyone about these decisions being made on our behalf. I am furious that none of us were consulted and this just proves how deceptive and malevolent this piece of legislation is!

In conclusion, I hope you listen to the voices of our people and respect our wishes. The vast majority of us do not approve of this legislation. Water is sacred and our lives depend on it. Do not betray us by accepting the new, proposed version of S2109. Thank you for your time and allowing me to express my opinion. As always, I look forward to hearing from you. Ahe’he’.

Sincerely,

Angela Marie Davis

7/27/2012 - Ferguson resident wins fight for front yard vegetable garden

The resident, Karl Tricamo, had been feuding with the city for months over the vegetable garden he had planted in front of his house in the 300 block of Louisa Avenue.

The city saw the garden as a blot on the landscape and issued Tricamo a citation demanding he uproot the corn, tomatoes, sorghum, peppers and other crops sprouting there and, instead, seed the yard for grass. The garden measures 35 feet by 25 feet.

With the help of an attorney from the Libertarian group Freedom Center of Missouri, Tricamo emerged victorious on Wednesday night when the city's Board of Adjustment voted to throw out the citation against him.

"We felt vindicated," said Tricamo, 29. "I had taken steps from day one that everything would be within ordinance. They just tried to throw everything at us and hoped something would stick."

Tricamo's attorney, Dave Roland, cast the issue as a blow against petty city tyranny.

"Gardening is part of the basis of human civilization," Roland said. "Is it unusual to have a garden in your front yard? Yes. But the city had no right to demand he remove it."
