Even Lord Browne former head of BP is now “a partner at US private

The Bloomberg headline more truthfully refers to those gullible
investors who put their money into green energy products which, as Lord
Browne says, without profitability, which in reality is subsidies from
taxpayers, “is going to disappear”.

Yah’at’eeh. My name is Angela Marie Davis. I am an enrolled member of
the Navajo Nation and participate in my chapter’s elections. I am
writing in regard to Legislation 0468-12 because I do not approve of it.
It is the same as S2109, with a few ame
ndments,
forcing the Navajo Nation to give up our treaty-guaranteed first
priority water rights to both the Upper and Lower Colorado River. In
fact, it would give us only forth priority rights to our water. That is
unacceptable. First of all, I do not appreciate our tribal water rights
lawyer, Stanley Pollock (a non-Navajo) writing and submitting this piece
of legislation without the approval of the Navajo Nation’s Water
Right’s Task Force. Secondly, I am alarmed that our Water Rights Task
Force is not up in arms about not being consulted beforehand about the
legislation. If they are not outraged by this, they are not doing their
jobs and need to be replaced.
The people have already spoken
against S2109 and HR 4067. What makes one think we would approve of this
piece of nearly identical legislation, when we already said no the
first time? Perhaps Stanley Pollock thought we would not notice this is
the basically same bill with the same raw end of the deal for our
people. Furthermore, I think it is awfully convenient that the tiny
deadline to comment on the legislation happened to fall on the day after
the U.S. Presidential election. Perhaps he was hoping we would be too
distracted by it to notice him trying to pass this legislation without
our knowledge or consent. If that is the case, his plan did not work. We
are aware of what he is doing and will not stand for any of it.
The legislation offers promises funding for expanding a water pipeline
to certain areas of the Navajo Nation, if and only if, this settlement
is approved. Our people do need running water, but not by hasty
coercion, empty promises and giving up our aboriginal rights. I also
would like to point out that the settlement would still prevent us from
suing the State of Arizona, or other outside interest groups from
damages done to the water. If this settlement is so good for our people,
why do they demand this immunity? The State of Arizona has no
jurisdiction on our federal land held in trust, and should not have any
power over our water. Furthermore, I read the 85-page legislative
document and noticed that family allotments were included within the
proposed water settlement. This includes my family’s allotments in New
Mexico and we were never notified by anyone about these decisions being
made on our behalf. I am furious that none of us were consulted and this
just proves how deceptive and malevolent this piece of legislation is!
In conclusion, I hope you listen to the voices of our people and
respect our wishes. The vast majority of us do not approve of this
legislation. Water is sacred and our lives depend on it. Do not betray
us by accepting the new, proposed version of S2109. Thank you for your
time and allowing me to express my opinion. As always, I look forward to

A U.N.-sponsored conference next month in Dubai will propose new regulations and restrictions for the Internet, which critics say will censor free speech, levy tariffs on e-commerce, and even force companies to clean up their “e-waste” and make gadgets that are better for the environment.
Concerns about the closed-door event have sparked a Wikileaks-style info-leaking site, and led the State Department on Wednesday to file a series of new proposals or tranches seeking to ensure “competition and commercial agreements — and not regulation” as the meeting’s main message.
Terry Kramer, the chief U.S. envoy to the conference, says the United States is against sanctions and believes management of the Internet by one central organization goes against free speech.
“[Doing nothing] would not be a terrible outcome at all,” Kramer said recently. “We need to avoid suffocating the Internet space through well-meaning but overly prescriptive proposals that would seek to control content.”
The conference will be run by the International Telecommunications Union (ITC), a U.N. agency that has typically provided a welcome service by making sure that the Internet works across countries. Many of its guidelines were first instituted in 1988. Most haven’t changed since then.

The World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT-12) is the first such meeting since those guidelines were created, and businesses are taking it seriously: U.S. delegates will include representatives from AT&T, Cisco, Facebook, GoDaddy, and dozens more.
To dispel concerns, the ITU played damage control in early October.
“There are no proposals submitted to create new international regulatory agencies, or mechanisms, and hence no proposals to put ITU in control of the Internet!” said Malcolm Johnson, ITU’s telecommunication standardization bureau director, in a written statement.
Despite those reassurances, key experts remain concerned.
The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) is one of just five groups that assign numbers to Internet names, a key part of making the web tick. Cathy Handley, executive director of government affairs at ARIN and a conference attendee, said the meeting is meant to exert some sort of controls.
“Some of the proposals that could clearly have consequences address the high cost of mobile roaming, taxation of calls, issues associated with the routing of calls, cybersecurity and combating spam,” Handley told FoxNews.com. “A major concern is with any attempt to make the International Telecommunication Regulations prescriptive and force regulation.”
Indeed, the same statement in which Johnson urges calm mentions a possible vote for more regulation.
Josh King, an attorney with legal advice site Avvo.com, said the ITU will make stronger proposals at a 2015 conference in Dubai. For now, the goal is to restructure so the telecommunication companies in each country have more control over what is on the Internet.
“The open, multi-stakeholder approach that has led to the massive growth of the Internet over the last 15 years [would] be replaced with a system of top-down, international regulation,” he told FoxNews.com.
Michael Embrich, a spokesperson for Internet advocacy group TestPAC, defines that goal as a way to level the playing field on the Internet and give developing countries a fair shot. Smaller countries want more regulations to help them compete with the U.S, he said.
At the conference, the ITC will even propose regulations that go offline, further than the Web.
Emrich said one proposal, to be funded by $53B in U.S. dollars, is to connect North and South America using a massive telecom pipeline. Another rule would cover cell phone batteries.
“They would like to implement a law that would require all makers of rechargeable batteries to make them 30 percent smaller and more efficient. They claim to have a study that says they can do this though proper regulations and requirements,” Embrich said.
Handley told FoxNews.com that it is likely some of the proposals at WCIT will be enacted over the next five years. What were formerly considered rough guidelines will become more precise governances, she said.
“The impact will be determined by the proposals that are adopted,” Handley said. “[Previous regulations have been viewed as] high-level principles, which means that countries have been able to implement them as they have seen needed.”
“While the worst-case scenario isn’t likely, there’s a decent chance that some of these regulations will go into effect,” King agreed.
Even if the ITU adds new rules, it won’t be able to enforce Internet governance on a global stage, Emrich said. Iran now has a closed Internet, and the only recourse the ITU has is to impose sanctions, for example.
“India has also recently imposed harsh censorship on their Internet users that go against the recommendation of practices of the WCIT,” he told FoxNews.com. “The WCIT has shown no evidence that they will try to stop it.”
Vivek Mohan, a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School and a former Microsoft attorney, says the talks should be taken seriously, even if there might not be any short-term impact.
“This is a fight for life for the ITU. If they don’t assert authority and jurisdiction, they will become irrelevant,” he told FoxNews.com.

Internet control is battleground for Dubai talks
Talks in Dubai this December could bring radical changes to the Net and who controls it. Some want a body like the UN to rein in the Net's freewheeling nature.
Calls for a more regulated Internet are nothing new.
But they have grown louder as the "network of networks" continues to connect people socially and politically - more than two billion and rising - while at the same time generating billions of dollars of revenue through electronic commerce.
Proposals to place the Internet under the control of a global authority, like the International Telecommunication Union, a UN body, have resurfaced ahead of the World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT) in December.
The conference in Dubai will discuss and likely revise many of the current international telecommunications regulations, which were originally agreed in 1988 - at a time when the Net was largely unknown outside of academia.
'Facebook-generated' protests
Since then, the Internet has become increasingly pervasive - and powerful.

For instance, Net observers say the Arab Spring would have failed to achieve the scale it did without Facebook and other social media - hundreds of thousands of unhappy citizens apparently agreed to protest and organized their demonstrations via these interactive platforms.
"The underlying fact is that the Internet provides unprecedented access to information and allows people to freely exchange information," says Markus Kummer, vice president of public policy at the Geneva-based Internet Society, which coordinates the committees and task forces that maintain the Internet's core protocols. "It doesn't go down well with some countries that value national sovereignty higher than the free flow of information and knowledge."
Russia, China and Iran are among the countries that would like to see greater Internet controls, either in the form of new regulations or a global authority or both.
They say more regulation is needed to deal with issues such as spam and cybercrime.
But critics argue their real reasons are to control the packets of information that move across their borders.
Bottom-up approach
"The fact is many governments are not comfortable with the existing governance arrangements, which are bottom-up, with a very flat structure and no one in charge," says Kummer. "That is the opposite of what governments, even in democratic societies, are used to. So there is underlying tension."

That's how Adam Peake sees it, too. Peake, an executive research fellow at the Center for Global Communications (GLOCOM) in Tokyo, points to a push by a number of governments for greater Net regulation.
"Some countries are looking to WCIT to reign in some of the freedoms that the Internet has given us, like freedom of speech and freedom to innovate with applications that undercut traditional telecommunications models," says Peake. "They want control over content and business models."
A number of countries would like to see the ITU become a global Internet watchdog of sorts or at least extend its authority to include Internet Protocol (IP) communications.
Founded in 1865 to establish international telegraph standard, the ITU became a part of the UN in 1947. It has never seen its authority extend beyond switched telephone networks and international radio. The Internet has happened completely outside of its control.
ITU to flex its muscle?
While struggling to officially deny that his organization is interested in becoming an Internet regulator, ITU Secretary General Hamadoun Touré took pains in a recent speech at Columbia University to narrowly define today's understanding of Internet governance as concerning only domain names and addresses.

"These are issues that we're not talking about at all," Touré said. "We're not pushing that - we don't need to."
But the ITU could flex its muscle in cyberspace in many other ways, according to Peake.
"There are proposals for ITU recommendations to become nationally mandated," Peake says. "That would give the agency massive power."
Many countries, including the United States, want the Internet to retain its open and innovative nature.
They made that point clear during the first and second World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), which took place in Geneva and Tunis in 2003 and 2005, respectively.
Most Internet businesses feel the same way.
'Backbone of globalization'
WSIS involved all the stakeholders - governments, industry, civil society and the traditional Internet technology and academic groups - and established the Internet Governance Forum as a platform for these groups to meet and exchange views on a regular basis, according to Paul Rendek with the regional Internet registry RIPE and a participant in the talks.
"We are now consulted by governments and other stakeholders and see much more acceptance to the multi-stakeholder model. Everyone has a place in the Internet advisory talks. And that gives us a road to a stable Internet," says Rendek.
But as with the WSIS events and the many smaller conferences and forums held since then, the Dubai meeting is likely to see certain parties butting heads, possibly even harder than in the past.
"It's inevitable that governments are more interested in the Internet these days - it's the backbone of globalization," Rendek says. "Regardless of what happens in Dubai, Internet governance is an issue that isn't going away.

Bloomberg is now more dominant in providing financial information than Reuters and it sees green products as a huge opportunity to make money through Bloomberg New Energy Finance which it claims, “delivers independent and comprehensive coverage across the clean energy industry and carbon markets”.
An article in the Financial Times in 2011 stated:
“The global market for solar and wind power rose from $6.5bn to $132bn between 2000 and 2010, says Clean Edge, a US research firm. The number of hybrid electric car models around the world has risen from two to 30 over the same time. Certified green building numbers grew from three to 8,138. But we will still see failures such as Solyndra.”
Even Lord Browne former head of BP is now “a partner at US private equity firm Riverstone Holdings, a large investor in fossil fuels whose $3.5bn renewable energy fund is one of the world’s biggest.”
“And one thing is clear: as long as people can make money from green businesses, investment will grow. As Lord Browne puts it, “The fundamental underpinning of sustainability is profitability. Without profitability, it’s going to disappear.”

real live Pro-Agenda 21 commercial on a mainstream media TV show.
I thought that was just a conspiracy theory. I guess I was bamboozled by the people who didn’t want me to know about it. I wonder what else they have in store for us.

Yah’at’eeh. My name is Angela Marie Davis. I am an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and participate in my chapter’s elections. I am writing in regard to Legislation 0468-12 because I do not approve of it. It is the same as S2109, with a few ame
ndments,
forcing the Navajo Nation to give up our treaty-guaranteed first
priority water rights to both the Upper and Lower Colorado River. In
fact, it would give us only forth priority rights to our water. That is
unacceptable. First of all, I do not appreciate our tribal water rights
lawyer, Stanley Pollock (a non-Navajo) writing and submitting this piece
of legislation without the approval of the Navajo Nation’s Water
Right’s Task Force. Secondly, I am alarmed that our Water Rights Task
Force is not up in arms about not being consulted beforehand about the
legislation. If they are not outraged by this, they are not doing their
jobs and need to be replaced.
The people have already spoken against S2109 and HR 4067. What makes one think we would approve of this piece of nearly identical legislation, when we already said no the first time? Perhaps Stanley Pollock thought we would not notice this is the basically same bill with the same raw end of the deal for our people. Furthermore, I think it is awfully convenient that the tiny deadline to comment on the legislation happened to fall on the day after the U.S. Presidential election. Perhaps he was hoping we would be too distracted by it to notice him trying to pass this legislation without our knowledge or consent. If that is the case, his plan did not work. We are aware of what he is doing and will not stand for any of it.
The legislation offers promises funding for expanding a water pipeline to certain areas of the Navajo Nation, if and only if, this settlement is approved. Our people do need running water, but not by hasty coercion, empty promises and giving up our aboriginal rights. I also would like to point out that the settlement would still prevent us from suing the State of Arizona, or other outside interest groups from damages done to the water. If this settlement is so good for our people, why do they demand this immunity? The State of Arizona has no jurisdiction on our federal land held in trust, and should not have any power over our water. Furthermore, I read the 85-page legislative document and noticed that family allotments were included within the proposed water settlement. This includes my family’s allotments in New Mexico and we were never notified by anyone about these decisions being made on our behalf. I am furious that none of us were consulted and this just proves how deceptive and malevolent this piece of legislation is!
In conclusion, I hope you listen to the voices of our people and respect our wishes. The vast majority of us do not approve of this legislation. Water is sacred and our lives depend on it. Do not betray us by accepting the new, proposed version of S2109. Thank you for your time and allowing me to express my opinion. As always, I look forward to hearing from you. Ahe’he’.
