This video shows why Hamas was bombing Israel, because not only were they bulldozing people's homes, but they were also destroying their water supply, which is quite literally a violent action aimed directly at killing people. How are they to survive without water?

Then, when Hamas fires rockets back, in defense of Palestinian lands and says stop killing our people, then Israel cries that they're under attack, the same tired tactic they've been using for decades, attack first, wait for retaliation, then say you're under attack, and you have to retaliate as a means to justify further attack. Anti-Zionist does not mean anti-Semite, or anti-Israel. Just to clarify, because some people can't seem to grasp that.

Fact: Israel has broken 65 U.N. resolutions with no consequences, Iraq broke 2 got invaded, bombed and destroyed.

The mainstream news is lying to you. Genocide in progress!

Operation Pillar of Cloud, day 5
I went again at Shifa hospital to report about the injuries.
A whole family was killed today in Israeli airstrike on their house in Nasser street, Gaza city. 4 children died:

Ibrahim Al Dalu, 11 months old
Jamal Al Dalu, 6 years old
Yousif Al Dalu, 5 years old
Sara Al Dalu, 3 years old

Also, their parents were killed: Samah Al Dalu, 22 years old and Mohammed Al Dalu, 28 years old.
Their aunt also was killed: Ranin Al Dalu, 22 years old, and an other aunt lost: Yara Al Dalu.
Their grandmother also was killed, Suhila Al Dalu, 50 years old, and two neighbours: Abdallah Mzanar, 20 years old, and Amina Mznar, 80 years old.
There are still some people under the rubble.
In this video, injuries arriving at Shifa hospital after many Israeli airstrikes.

"Once again Israƫl attacks Gaza, and the international media relays the images of desolation. But the outrage provoked by these daily horrors must not prevent us from analysing the situation and understanding its aims."

The United States government is hugely complicit in the tragedy experienced by the Palestinian people. Many of us know Lora Lucero, an Albuquerque land-use attorney and activist. Lora is on an extended visit in Gaza, and launched a blog when she got there, from which you can read her thoughts about life as a civilian in a war zone.

Big Pharma in Canada

A recent Canadian Press report on trade negotiations between Canada and the European Union (CETA) says Ottawa is prepared to give the Europeans, and the pharmaceutical industry, at least part of what they asked for on drug patents – a move that could cost Canadians up to $1 billion a year.

Canada currently pays 15 to 20 per cent more than the international average for new brand name drugs as part of a deal negotiated by the Mulroney government in the 1980’s. In exchange for this form of price fixing, big pharma promised to invest 10 per cent of R&D (Research and Development)-to-sales in Canada.
The industry broke this promise and now invests only 5.6 per cent of R&D-to-sales – the lowest rate of R&D investment from the pharmaceutical industry since 1988. France and the UK have an R&D-to-sales ratio that is more than twice that of Canada and their prices are at least 10 per cent lower.
Throwing drug patents into a trade agreement is like throwing deregulation into a budget omnibus bill. It is intended to pass below the radar and evade public scrutiny.
The higher prices in Canada for new brand name drugs are costing us at least an additional $2 billion a year. The provisions in the CETA on patent extension would cost at least another $1 billion annually. The Harper government is rewarding bad behavior and broken promises with an additional $3 billion a year.

A new way to rescue Africa’s struggling soils: Planting perennials with crops

It sounds counter-intuitive: Grow more food by planting less. But it’s a plan that scientists think will produce enough crops to feed Africa’s quickly expanding population. African farmers who sow food crops mixed with plants called perennials—which live two years or more—can enrich nutrient-poor soils and increase their bounty, argue scientists in the Sept. 20 issue of Nature.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The University at Buffalo on Monday closed its seven-month-old shale gas research institute, which was under investigation by the State University Board of Trustees after a group of professors accused it of having undisclosed ties to industry.

PARTIAL VICTORY! ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A health impact review of shale gas drilling by national experts will make it impossible to meet a looming deadline for new fracking regulations, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday, pushing a much-delayed decision on the contentious issue into 2013.

At least six dolphins have been killed in the Gulf of Mexico and officials are determined to find out who is responsible. These attacks were brutal, one dolphin was shot with a handgun, others had parts of their bodies chopped off and one had a screwdriver stabbed into its head.

BILOXI -- NOAA has appointed an enforcement officer to investigate the mutilation and deaths of dolphins in the northern Gulf of Mexico.

But the troubles will not end there, as the company will appear before a federal judge in February to face what could be an astronomical financial penalty. The U.S. government is pursuing a civil case against the oil giant to prove that it committed gross negligence, as it is alleged that key safety tests were misread and proper precautions were not taken. If convicted to the fullest extent, BP could owe another $20 billion, though it is more likely that it would fall around the $10 billion range after negotiations.

While this historic sum may partially avenge the animals and ecosystems ravaged by the spill, it is not enough. Reparations for the damage will not be achieved unless we ensure that the same thing will not happen again. This involves directing money into renewable energy to work toward eliminating the need for fossil fuels.
( But while we are waiting on that, why not rescind the incentive of removing depletion allowance taxes on deepwater drilling into oil reserves - a practice beyond established technological  abilities with novel risks and difficulties ? )

SPRING LAKE, N.J. (AP) — The average New Jersey beach is 30 to 40 feet narrower after Superstorm Sandy, according to a survey that is sure to intensify a long-running debate on whether federal dollars should be used to replenish stretches of sand that only a fraction of U.S. taxpayers use. Some of New Jersey's famous beaches lost half their sand when Sandy slammed ashore in late October.
( What part of  'those sands protected valuable property from loss' is hard to understand ? )
‎"Many chemicals that are used in the dying and processing of fabrics can become hormone disrupting and even cancer causing when they break down in nature," said Greenpeace's Media Officer, Myriam Fallon, and those chemicals are being dumped into rivers right near the factories. So Greenpeace tested 141 clothing items from 20 major brands, including Zara, Levi’s, Mango, Calvin Klein and H&M, looking for evidence of phthalates, nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs) and azo dyes, which can break down into cancer-causing amines.
