Suicide bombs kill 11 at military church in Nigeria
Two suicide bombs killed at least 11 people on Sunday at a church in a
barracks in northern Nigeria, where the Islamist sect Boko Haram is waging
a campaign of violence, the military said.
Army spokesman Bola Koleoso said a bus drove into the side of the St.
Andrew Military Protestant Church at the Jaji barracks in Kaduna state and
exploded at around 1105 GMT, five minutes after a service had started.
Explosives inside a Toyota Camry were detonated outside the church ten
minutes later, he said. The military said at least 30 were injured.

Both Benghazi And The Petraeus Scandal Suggest US Media Is Way Too Cozy With The State

If there is just one lesson to take away from the Benghazi and Petraeus
affairs it's that the American media is way too cozy with heads of state.
Immediately following the Benghazi crisis, U.S. gersollmedia did its due
diligence and flexed its sources, anonymous and otherwise, to uncover the
truth about the attack — but then they purposely failed to report the
details because of requests from the CIA and the Obama administration.

Mursi power grab strains stability amid protests
Egypt's stock market plunged on Sunday in its first day open since Islamist
President Mohamed Mursi's seizure of new powers set off street violence and
a political crisis, unraveling efforts to restore stability after last
year's revolution.
More than 500 people have been injured in protests since Friday, when
Egyptians awoke to news Mursi had issued a decree temporarily widening his
powers and shielding his decisions from judicial review.
Mursi and the judiciary hinted at compromise to avert a full-scale
political crisis.

Political Polarization in Egypt
The recent military flare up in Gaza between Hamas and the Israeli military
forces led to the killings of more than 160 Palestinians and more than
1,200 injuries. Adding to the devastation was the destruction of homes and

important mediator role between the feuding parties, which led to a truce

President Morsi gained recognition from the U.S. government and other
western powers for his efforts. Right after this achievement, President
