the QEQM Hospital in Margate. Three days ago I collapsed for the
second time in two days; an ambulance was called and a paramedic arrived
within 5 minutes, with a full ambulance arriving inside a further five

My predictions for 2013
Last year I didn’t make any detailed predictions for the year
(though I did for the decade). For 2013 I will.
(1) Bashar al-Assad will no longer be president of Syria by the end of
the year
The best-case scenario (from his point of view) is to be in exile with a
few million dollars and a guarantee he won’t be prosecuted. While he
deserves to be prosecuted, this option would save a lot of suffering

Last week (more or less) included my husband's birthday, and for his
celebratory dinner I made Juniper-Spiced Venison with Brown Goat Cheese
Sauce[1]. The crowd went *wild* -- it may have been the best venison any
of us have ever had [2], and it was certainly the tenderest wild-caught
venison I've ever encountered.

According to the Standing Committee on telecommunication in Pakistan,
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had failed to perform its
duty over the 3G auction due to lack of regulatory procedures. The move
to hire a foreign consultant to monitor the 3G auction and then to
cancel the contract worth Rs.10 million is also not the right step. The
