Blue America's Last Contest Of The 2012 Cycle... Frank Sinatra
This is a chance to win something by the Chairman of the Board... and
defeat the current Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee at the
same time. Monday we're picking the winner of the VERY GOOD YEARS Frank
Sinatra R.I.A.A.-certified double platinum award as part of our efforts to
help independent progressive Democrat Lee Rogers replace corrupt old
Establishment hack and warmonger Buck McKeon in California's 25th CD.
You know, Tuesday we're going to have some wins and we're going to have
some losses and Blue America is very proud of all the candidates we backed

This week in his Wednesday e-newsletter-slash-blogpost *New Yorker* cartoon
editor Bob Mankoff introduced a new Web-exclusive feature, "The Daily

Hurricane Sandy. However, says Bob,

from Sandy and from pre- and post-election fatigue by drawing a cartoon

Syrian rebels attacked a military airport in the country's north on
Saturday in a push to cut off Syria's biggest city Aleppo from the capital
Damascus, and secure a strategic north-south corridor.
President Bashar al-Assad's forces appear over-stretched with fewer
fighters on the ground and have sought to limit rebel advances with far
superior firepower, increasingly from the air and especially in the Aleppo

R. v. Thomson, [2004] O.J. No. 1873 (S.C.J.) has a very thoughtful analysis

55 The Crown's position was that, if Thomson is released, she should

The FSA Can't Win A Battle Fair And Square
Two examples:
1) In Idlib, the Syrian army was beating the FSA so the FSA cried and
called for a ceasefire. They used the ceasefire to regroup and bring new
fighters from other parts of Syria. They then violated the ceasefire. This
had the effect of stopping the momentum of the Syrian army. I don't know
why they agreed to a ceasefire in the first place when they were clearly
winning.
2) After the battle between the FSA and the YPG, a local Kurdish group, at
least 18 FSA members were killed. Some of them were also injured. A woman
Kurdish commander agreed to meet the leaders of the ... more »

Today, for the first time in memory, the Republican Party failed to deliver

Syrian Tanks 'Cross Israeli Border'
Israel says three Syrian tanks have entered the demilitarised zone in the
Golan Heights for the first time in 40 years, raising concerns that the
conflict in Syria could spillover its border.
The development comes as dramatic video emerged from Syria which purports
to show rebels filming as a fighter jet targeted them.
In a relatively low-key response, Israel complained to UN peacekeepers
present in the area, suggesting it did not see an immediate threat.

How Can Obama Be Bad For Business If Corporate Profits Are at All-Time High?
*By MARC McDONALD*
It's a sign of our nation's bizarre, surreal political discourse these days
that most of the most persistent GOP attacks on Obama are not only
misleading, they have zero connection to the real world.
One of the GOP's most common attacks on Obama is that he's a "socialist."
We also often hear that he's somehow bad for business or hostile to
capitalism and free markets.
Here in the Real World, such charges are absurd. The fact is, any candidate
for president who was even in the slightest bit "socialist" would never in
a million years get anywhere near the White Hou... more »

What's Senate Republicans Don't Want You to Find Out

the most commonly used adjectives used to describe the CRS are "respected"
