Real Coastal Warriors
On 23 occasions over the past several years, wild dolphins were observed giving gifts to humans at the Tangalooma Island Resort in Australia. The gifts included eels, tuna, squid, an octopus and an assortment of many other types of different fin fish. While these gifts might not be your choice for a gift to find underneath your Christmas tree, some of the items that were offered to humans are highly valued food sources for cetaceans such as dolphins.

FBI Ignored Deadly Threat to Occupiers:

New documents obtained from the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security by the Partnership for Civil Justice and released this past week show that the FBI and other intelligence and law enforcement agencies began a campaign of monitoring, spying and disrupting the Occupy Movement at least two months before the first occupation actions began in late September 2011.

As early as August, while acknowledging that the incipient Occupy Movement was “peaceful” in nature, federal, state and local officials from the FBI, the DHS and the many Fusion Centers and Joint Terrorism Task Force centers around the country were meeting with local financial institutions and their private security organizations to plot out a strategy for countering the Occupy Movement’s campaign.
Interestingly, one document obtained by PCJ from the Houston FBI office refers to what appears to have been a plan by some group, the name of which is blacked out in the released document, to determine who the leaders were of the Occupy Movement in Houston, and then to assassinate them with “suppressed” sniper rifles, meaning sniper rifles equipped with silencers.

The chilling document in question reads as follows:

“One identified BLANK as of October planned to engage in sniper attacks against protesters in Houston, Texas if deemed necessary. An identified BLANK had received intelligence that indicated the protesters in New York and Seattle planned similar protests in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. BLANK planned to gather intelligence against the leaders of the protest group and obtain photographs, then formulate a plan to kill the leadership by suppressed sniper rifles.”

The wording does not sound like it’s some crank Tea Party faction they’re talking about — especially the words “deemed necessary” and the reference to “gathering intelligence against the leaders of the protest group.” Fortunately, in any case, no such assassination campaign materialized in Houston or anywhere else during the wave of Occupy actions across the country, but at the same time, there were never any arrests of whatever organization or individuals that the FBI clearly knew to be planning such a terrorist action against the Occupy activists.

Commenting on this peculiar lack of action by the FBI and other national anti-terrorist organizations, Partnership for Civil Justice executive director Maya Verheyden-Hilliard says, “The documents we’ve obtained show that the FBI was acting as a private intelligence and protective agency for Wall Street and the banks against people who are engaged in First Amendment-protected free speech activities. Yet here you had a real terrorist threat, which, if the FBI were serious about combating and preventing terrorism it would have acted upon, and it did nothing!”

-China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated
-Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

[Editor: You can argue about the numbers, but the point here is that disarmed citizens are vulnerable, and that there are many historical examples of disarmed citizens being killed and oppressed by their own government. The excuse given by authorities that they need to take guns away from citizens in order to lower crime rates is not supported by facts. Even if a government does not turn on its own citizens after disarming them, people are less safe - because unarmed citizens are easy targets to criminals. Over and over again, it has been clearly shown that taking guns away from citizens does not lead to a decrease in crime but rather a dramatic increase.]

THE Barnett government has been accused of a "fundamental, systemic failure" after a man was mistaken for an escaped mental health patient, detained by police and then given powerful antipsychotic drugs that caused an adverse reaction.

The state's Health Department is conducting an inquiry with police into how the breakdown in identification procedures at Perth's Graylands mental health hospital occurred.

The government now faces making a significant compensation payout to the man for the traumatic experience.

Staff at the hospital only realised they had the wrong person when he fell ill after being given a drug normally prescribed for schizophrenia and had to be taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

On December 14, a schizophrenic man considered at low risk of self-harm or of harming others left Graylands, where he was an involuntary patient. Staff asked police to help find him.

On December 16 they brought a man "fitting his description" to the hospital. After suffering the adverse reaction to the medication and being taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, he was discharged the next day.

Mental Health Minister Helen Morton said yesterday she was appalled at this "huge mistake" and was "very sorry for the distress and hurt that the misidentified man has endured".

Ms Morton said she was very concerned about the man's ongoing welfare.

"I have asked the police and the hospital to ensure there is no ongoing consequences from the medication that he received," she said. "Following the inquiry, I will be talking to my government about this issue of compensation. I will not rule out compensation."

Opposition health spokesman Roger Cook said the man had gone through "everyone's worst nightmare" but staff at the hospital were under immense pressure because of a lack of resources.

"This is a sign of fundamental, systemic failure brought on by a lack of resources that the government is responsible for," Mr Cook said. "Something catastrophic has occurred in terms of the clinical process."

Police said they had followed correct procedures but Greens mental health spokeswoman Alison Xamon was not so sure.

"Obviously there was a failing at Graylands," she said. "I think there are also some serious questions about how police approached this guy in the first place and made the determination he was their man."

Ms Morton said "people would be held accountable" and she believed human error was responsible. "I am hopeful this is a one-off incident, probably due to a one-off error," she said.
