Mysterious animal terrorizes farmers as it mutilates livestock in the middle of the night
In
a ghoulish mystery, an unknown beast is terrorizing Kentucky farmers as
it attacks their livestock, tearing parts from the animals but not
eating
them.
The residents of rural Shelby County have no idea what is stalking their
livestock in the night.
'I heard the goat, the dogs going off and I ran out there and looked and
saw the goat laying on the ground,' said Kevin Cox, an area farmer who's
had one animal fall victim to an attack.

Forget the Mayan Apocalypse, the new date for doomsday is January 1 2017, claim Sword of God cult
The
world may have escaped Armageddon yesterday but the actual Apocalypse

The new date for annihilation is January 1, 2017, according to followers
of
The Sword of God Brotherhood.
They believe the 'Prophet Gabriel' told the Brotherhood that the 'dying
time' will come on this date and only members of the cult will survive,
while everyone else perishes in 'hellfire.'

Mental illness, medications and school shootings: Preventing another Sandy Hook

In the aftermath of the horrific school shooting at Sandy Hook elementary
school in Connecticut, the debate regarding preventive measures is focused
on stricter gun control laws. While sensible gun regulations are in order, addressing
the root causes of the mass shootings is more important if real
preventative measures are to be taken.
What caused the gunmen to act is more relevant in terms of prevention than
the weapons used. With or without stricter gun control laws, firearms will

Judging by how the self-proclaimed professional economist totally failed to

A sign as to how much India has changed

'Our attitude to truffles is changing. Now, they are all around us – in

Thorium Not So Wonderful?
Thorium has attracted a lot of attention for several excellent reasons and
the one cited here is a concern and not well understood but otherwise it is
a management issue.
The true value of the Thorium reactor is that it can be used to reduce
uranium and its daughters into a safe end product while producing power.
That one such reduction does lead to an isotope suitable for weapons
manufacture is still minor when compared to Uranium itself. That it can be
done in a modest lab merely tells us that aggressive enforcement is
necessary.
Yet that is a small price to pay in ord... more »

The reality is that folks have been keeping inappropriate large cats as

responsibility to put it down when it becomes necessary.

evidence of that. Otherwise we have hungry pets who easily revert to
instinct and will generally thrive however unlikely you may think that to

The UK government have announced that they are to finally acknowledge the
right of individuals to copy material for the own use. We have all done it.
We have all copied a file from one format to another , or from one device
to another in order that we can play it as we want to , on the device we
want to, or store it logically with other files. Today that is illegal in
the UK, but tomorrow it will be finally addressed.
However, in addressing it we face many further interpretations and fine
detail. It will not allow encrypted files to be unlocked so in fact could
be said to be fur... more »

Gold bar you can break up (and could be the future of money if there's economic meltdown)
Swiss refinery Valcambi has been selling its CombiBar to private investors
in Switzerland, Austria and Germany who are worried about a return of
Weimar Republic-style hyperinflation.
The size of a credit card, the 50g gold CombiBars are easily be broken into
one gram pieces to be used as money in times of crisis.
Now the company wants to bring them to market in the U.S. and build up
sales in India - the world's largest consumer of gold, where it has long

Britain spending more on benefits than Scandinavians with 7 out of 10 children living in a home receiving handouts
Britain
pays out more on welfare than high spending social democratic
nations in Scandinavia, according to a think-tank.
Nearly seven out of ten children now live in a home that receives at
least
one cash handout other than child benefit, says the hard-hitting study
by
the Institute for Economic Affairs.
And some 17 per cent of children – around 2.1 million – live in a home
where no adult is working ‘easily the highest rate in Europe’.

Mass shootings lift gun sales, data shows
The coming weeks may well be banner ones for gun sales in America - and the
massacre at a Connecticut elementary school will likely be a reason.
The appetite for guns tends to increase following a mass shooting,
according to a Reuters analysis of U.S. government data on background
checks run on prospective gun buyers in the past 13 years - generally
regarded as a reliable indicator of whether gun sales are increasing.

The sinking of "Plan B"; the U.S. "fiscal cliff" disaster of John Boehner
Had there been a vote on Republican House Speaker John Boehner's "Plan B"
to avert the so-called U.S. fiscal cliff on Thursday night, it would not
have been close. He was probably 40 to 50 votes short of the number he
needed to avoid a humiliating defeat at the hands of his own party,
according to rough estimates from Republican members of Congress and staff
members.
It was not for lack of effort. Boehner and his two top deputies, Eric
Cantor and Kevin McCarthy, along with other House Republican leaders, tried
for three days to muster support for the measure, which would have cut

Iran defense minister says NATO missiles harm Turkey security
The installation of Patriot anti-missile batteries sent by NATO members to
bolster Turkey's defenses against a possible missile attack from Syria will
only harm Turkey's security, Iran's defense minister was quoted as saying
on Saturday.
NATO approved Turkey's request for the air defense system earlier this
month, in a move meant to calm Ankara's fears of being hit by Syrian
missiles.

Egypt's constitution seen passing in referendum
An Egyptian constitution drafted by Islamists is expected to be approved in
a referendum on Saturday after the charter, which opponents say will create
deeper turmoil, won approval in a first wave of voting a week ago.
The opposition have already cried foul, saying a litany of abuses means
last Saturday's ballot, involving about half the electorate, should be
re-run. But the committee overseeing the two-stage vote said their
investigations showed no major irregularities that would invalidate the
process.

TRUTH ABOUT SYRIA
20 December 2012 -
This mini-report from Tunisian TV station, Delta TV, shows an interview
with a 29-year old Tunisian man who traveled to Syria and fought alongside
the "Free Syrian Army" (FSA) against the Syrian Army.
He explains why he stayed there for slightly over a month and decided to
return back to his home country instead of remaining there for Jihad, as is
the case with other young Tunisians who were sent to Syria mainly by their
imams (clerics).
The interview corroborates some of other eyewitness accounts that accuse
the FSA of committing massacres in order to frame th... more »
Scientists discover multiple avian influenza strains in Chinese Pigs
Scientists recently reported on the seroprevalence of strains of avian
influenza viruses found in pigs kept in southern China.
The analyzed viruses do not include the H5N1 strain. The researchers
believe their study could have major public health implications in efforts
to limit the potential damage caused by a pandemic in humans, according to

Swine can be infected by both human and avian influenza viruses, and are
therefore believed to be important sources of the kind of genetic
reassortment that can result in a pandemic. Pigs have been infected by all

Gun Lobby Calls For Armed Guards At Schools
America's most powerful gun lobby has defended the use of firearms and
argued that armed guards could have prevented the Sandy Hook school
shooting.
Wayne LaPierre, the executive vice president of the National Rifle
Association (NRA), called on the US Congress to immediately pass
legislation to place guards with guns in schools by the time classes resume
from winter breaks in January.
He said the proposal was aimed at stopping the next killer "waiting in the
wings", claiming that "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a
good guy with a gun".

Sunday Classics preview: By popular demand, the gala DWT "Nutcracker (The Whole Deal)" returns

honest, I don't like it much anyway.)*

NRA's Absurd Scapegoating of Violent Movies, Video Games Doesn't Hold Up to Scrutiny
*By MARC McDONALD*
For five days after the horrific bloodbath at Sandy Hook Elementary School,
the National Rifle Association went eerily silent. They slithered under a
rock and nobody heard a peep from them until Friday. The cowards even
temporarily took down their Facebook page.
Finally, the NRA's head ghoul Wayne LaPierre spoke up. And in his idiotic,
error-filled statement, LaPierre fell back on the one of the gun lobby's
oldest scapegoating tactics. He blamed Hollywood for its violent movies, as
well as video game makers. He called them "a callous, corrupt and
corrupting shado... more »
Why Switzerland Has The Lowest Crime Rate In The World (Important to watch)

The key to freedom is to be able to have the ability to defend yourself &,
if you dont have the tools to do that, then youre going to be at the mercy

Guns are deeply rooted within Swiss culture - but the gun crime rate is so
low that statistics are not even kept.
The country has a population of six million, but there are estimated to be
at least two million publicly-owned firearms, including about 600,000

and tape and sand the Sunset Room but it was just too cold) and errands and
bowling with the gang on Friday. But tomorrow Southern Man and Southern Son
drive north to pick up Teen Daughter the Younger for her

ATLANTA — Don’t pet the pigs. That’s the message state and county fair

increase of cases of a new strain of swine flu that spreads from pigs to
people. Most of the cases are linked to the fairs, where visitors are in
close contact with infected pigs.
This flu has mild symptoms and it’s not really spreading from person to

Persons of the Year? But What Year?
*by Noah*
This is a tale of two men, both stuck in the past, and a magazine that
chose one of them as its "Person of the Year." One man's name is Mitt. The
other man's name is Barack. The followers of the former think that the name
of the latter is "strange." That is just one of the reasons why they voted
for their man; another is that their man held out the promise of turning
back the clock to at least the 1950s -- or, as comic Andy Borowitz says in
this piece, 1912.

The CIA has more blood on its hands than both the NRA and Al-Qaeda put

Obama's brainwashed true believers are more concerned about the *imaginary
