Gunfire erupts at Los Vegas Excalibur: Two dead after murder-suicide
A man and woman were dead after a possible murder-suicide Friday night inside the Excalibur lobby. Las Vegas police responded to the Strip hotel about 8:30 p.m. after gunfire erupted in the front lobby, officer Laura Meltzer said. The man died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The woman died at University Medical Center about two hours later, police said. The hotel remained open, but the lobby was closed as detectives tried to piece together what happened and why. http://www.lvrj.com/news/man-dead-woman-critically-injured-in-shooting-at-excalibur-183608761.html
RIP- Ravi Shankar... Life Goes By So Fast
The 1967-'68 school year was an exciting one for me. I had been freshman class president the year before and was then elected to head the Student Activities Board, which had a huge budget. We had a great series of concerts-- at least from my perspective. I got to book whatever I wanted. To be honest, most of the students hated the groups I booked, although I bet you couldn't find anyone who would admit that today. But they used to try to impeach me for wasting student funds on "trash" like The Doors, The Dead, Hendrix, Big Brother, The Who. Oh, there were people who loved that stuf... more »

The Murder Of Princess Diana: The Richard Thomlinson Connection!
Last year, I put up an amazing article at this blog (link here), that showed clear evidence that the crash of Swissair flight 111 off the coast of Nova Scotia on September 2nd, 1998, was absolutely NO accident at all. I came under fire from many naysayers that claimed that my assertion that this "accident" was a deliberate attempt to kill ONE man, former MI6 agent, Richard Thomilinson, was absolutely wrong.... I have stood behind that assertion to this date, and NOW comes some further vindication that it is indeed fact! I came across the following article earlier today, from a fe...more »

It is important for everyone to see the true nature of these criminal Jews who are out to destroy our way of life and to enslave all humanity. Obama's Sneaky War On Syria Puts Him In The Company With Jihadist Terrorists
*Both Al-Qaeda and Obama have their sights on Syria.* President Barack Obama is depicted as a reluctant wartime president by the state-run media, but his no-holds-barred approach to arming the Jihadist terrorists inside Syria against the Assad regime raises questions about his reserved image and his real intentions towards Syria. The Connecticut School Shooting: Something Seriously Does NOT Add Up. Evidence That There Were MULTIPLE Shooters!
I have spent this evening going over a multitude of videos and articles pertaining to this latest senseless shooting and killing of some 27 innocent people in Connecticut, and from what I see, things just do not add up.. In fact, I am now smelling a rat, and am seriously looking at this as an operation conducted for the sole purpose of scaring the crap out of the American people so that they will blindly accept new Gun Control Legislation and surrender their right to bear arms. mr. monk and the loyal viewer
It's a rare television show that gets me so engrossed in the characters that I actually begin to care about them. It takes great writing, great acting, and probably more than anything, great characters. I've just finished the entire series of "Monk," which I've been watching end-to-end on Netflix. The last network TV show I remember liking in the same can't-put-it-down way was "Veronica Mars," which I had never heard of until a friend lent me the series on DVD. (Thank you!!) I'd watch one episode after the next until I would finally force myself to go to sleep. I read about "Monk" ... more »

Don't just read what I linked you to above, REALLY RESEARCH THOSE TWO THINGS YOURSELF! These things ARE FOR REAL, and other things like them are for real. Bullet Control
Hmm...I was just saying to middle daughter Sophie (who was in Philly for job interviews when the horrific Sandy Hook massacre happened) that any attempt to confiscate guns in the US would precipitate a civil war with gun lovers - who notoriously will cling to their weapons until they are pried from their cold dead fingers - and so a better way to address gun violence would be to restrict, or tax, ammunition (this could be done simply by regulating lead, a known toxin and essential ingredient of bullets). Then I saw this:

Stopping Violence Is Not The Aim of Gun Control
The problem that government gun control advocates have is that they are not the moral leaders of society so honest and educated people don't listen to what they have to say. They are not trusted. Those who are calling for banning guns are also calling for military intervention and aggressive wars. This proves that they are not interested in stopping violence and reducing suffering in society. If they sincerely care about protecting innocent children then they should be consistent in their views and turn swords into ploughshares across the board. Banning guns is the easy solution to... more »

The Newtown Massacre, and The Key to Wisdom
The mass killing of a class of kindergarten students and their adult school guardians has touched a strong chord in the country, and no doubt around the world. That greater life is in a higher realm, known to man throughout history (and long before) as "spirit". The two realms -- with the lesser physical "inside" of the greater spiri... more »

Guns Don't Kill People--Crazy People with Guns Kill People
From Kristof at NYTimes: By NICHOLAS D. KRISTOF IN the harrowing aftermath of the school shooting in Connecticut, one thought wells in my mind: Why can’t we regulate guns as seriously as we do cars? The fundamental reason kids are dying in massacres like this one is not that we have lunatics or criminals — all countries have them — but that we suffer from a political failure to regulate guns. Children ages 5 to 14 in America are 13 times as likely to be murdered with guns as children in other industrialized countries, according to David Hemenway, a public health specialist at Harvar... more »

PLANET EARTH: WHERE THE KILLING NEVER STOPS !!!
Ron Barber (AZ)-- As Bad As We Feared... And He's Just Getting Started
Arizona Democrats, for largely emotional reasons, picked conservative corporate shill Ron Barber, a former staffer for Gabby Giffords, to replace Giffords. Last month, in one of the closest contests in the country, Barber managed to hold onto Giffords' seat against formidable GOP opposition, 143,173 (50%) to 141,771 (50%). Republican Martha McSally spent $1,393,346 and outside groups spent in the neighborhood of $2 million to support her. Barber outraised her significantly and spent $2,637,022, with outside groups kicking in close another million on his behalf (although that inclu... more »
Norovirus: Hospitals Shut Doors To Visitors
Hospitals across the country are closing their doors to visitors because of outbreaks of the winter vomiting bug norovirus. Birmingham City Hospital has asked visitors to stay away after closing four wards while at Maidstone Hospital in Kent three wards have closed to new admissions and visitors have been banned from all wards. The George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton has shut one ward, partially closed three wards and is turning away visitors. Five hospitals in Wales are also closed to visitors. http://news.sky.com/story/1025882/norovirus-hospitals-shut-doors-to-visitors

NATO oil tanker goes up in flames after Afghan Taliban ambush... but instead of running away, locals grab as many petrol cans as they can carry and siphon off fuel
The tanker was ambushed on Saturday as it passed through Doshi district in Baghlan province, in the north of the country. A group of gunmen opened fire on the vehicle until it burst into flame and had to be abandoned. Although the attackers have not been formally identified, locals apparently said that they were Taliban militants who had targeted the tanker in an effort to disrupt NATO's ongoing efforts to reconstruct the country's infrastructure while cracking down on terrorist attacks. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2248591/Afghans-line-siphon-fuel-oil-tanker-blown-Taliba... more »
WITH REGARD TO THE SO-CALLED "FISCAL CLIFF," VIRTUALLY ALL ELECTED REPUBLICANS AND MOST ELECTED DEMOCRATS ARE EITHER TOTALLY IGNORANT OF ECONOMICS OR WILLFULLY DISHONEST IN CLAIMING THAT AUSTERITY IS THE ONLY WAY TO "SAVE" THE ECONOMY. HERE PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS, PERHAPS THE ONLY HONEST REPUBLICAN ECONOMIST OF TRUE STATURE, EXPLAINS IN GREAT DETAIL WHY CUTBACKS IN THE SOCIAL SAFETY NET WOULD BE A SURE-FIRE WAY TO *DEEPEN* THE PRESENT FINANCIAL CRISIS AND WOULD *INCREASE* PUBLIC DEBT. THIS ARTICLE IS WORTH READING AT LEAST TWICE.
------------------------------ *Our Collapsing Economy and Currency * ------------------------------ December 1, 2012 | Original Here Is the “fiscal cliff” real or just another hoax? The answer is that the fiscal cliff is real, but it is a result, not a cause. The hoax is the way the fiscal cliff is being used. The fiscal cliff is the result of the inability to close the federal budget deficit. The budget deficit cannot be closed because large numbers of US middle class jobs and the GDP and tax base associated with them have been moved offshore, thus reducing federal revenues. The ...more »
Information and heat
When they're rather young, children learn about hot and cold things. They learn to say "heiss" when their tongue gets burned a little bit and "brrr" when they're freezing. Much like our ancestors, the Monkey Americans, little kids learn that they may heat objects up by fire; and they may cool them down in the refrigerator if they have one. In ancient Greece about 2,000 years ago, Philo of Byzantium and Hero of Alexandria constructed the first thermometers when they observed that materials generally expand when the temperature is higher. People would eventually learn that the feeli... more »
Iran hysteria a cover for Israeli bomb - ex-Iranian diplomat
*‘Israel’s nuclear bomb has nothing to do with Iran’ * RT: Is Israel’s plausible nuclear stockpile a threat to Iran? HM: I really do believe that neither Israel is an existential threat to Iran nor Iran is an existential threat to Israel. We’ve just had the Global Zero Summit [nuclear non-proliferation] conference. I told the conference that even today Israelis are always using the Iran issue to justify their nuclear bomb, saying that Iran is an existential threat for Israel. But in fact it is Israel that produced a nuclear bomb before the Islamic revolution [in Iran] when the Shah ... more »
Syrian jets strike rebels around Damascus
Syrian warplanes bombed insurgents east of Damascus on Saturday and government forces pounded a town to the southwest, activists said, in a month-long and so far fruitless campaign to dislodge rebels around the capital. Jets bombarded the Beit Sahm district on the road leading to the international airport and the army fired rockets at several rebel strongholds around Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad's bastion through 21 months of an increasingly bloody uprising. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/12/15/us-syria-crisis-idUSBRE8AJ1FK20121215

Trolling the Connecticut Shootings
Tragic events like yesterday's school shooting bring out the best in people. Teachers and pupils have been praised for timely actions that saved many dozens of lives from Adam Lanza's rampage. But, unfortunately, tragedy can also bring out a sense of brazen self-righteousness by those who believe they have a stake in the fall out. I wrote yesterday how the smoke that normally clouds America's gun control debates gets thicker in the immediate aftermath of yet another entirely preventable mass shooting. And sadly, so it has proven. Scant hours after news of the shooting broke, Bryan... more »
Tears For Right Wing Fear
(By *American Zen*'s Mike Flannigan, on loan from Ari) When the President of the United States of America cries on national TV, that's a pretty good sign the nation is not having a good day. And just in case the "Neener Neener"-Obama Can Do No Right faction of the nation tries to make hay out of this, the president's tears yesterday were not John Boehner crocodile tears but those of a fellow parent who'd been devastated by the news of, by far, the worst elementary school shooting in all of American history. And that's how we ought to present this: Not, as the *New York Ti... more »
Obama's Fried Fish
Anxious folks in Washington and Colorado may have gotten an early Christmas gift from their president. When it comes to simple possession and recreational use of marijuana in their states, Obama says he has "bigger fish to fry." Obama told Babs Walters, "*It would not make sense for us to see a top priority as going after recreational users in states that have determined it's legal."i* Hardly a home run but it's "safe on third." Attorney General Eric Holder has said he'll announce a new policy on state laws very soon. * * There has been some speculation that federal laws against... more »

Why No Competition?
Lockheed Martin has a number of F-35s built and flying. Surely it's got more than enough to get a few up to the Cold Lake air base to strut their stuff against the competition. Let's see how they do in dogfighting, in ground support, in the interceptor role. Let's see how they stack up on range, payload, speed, climb and turn rate, reliability and survivability. Let's see how they handle defensive and offensive roles or missions that can turn from one into the other quite unexpectedly. How are they on sortie generation, that is how many missions can you get out of them in a... more »

Self-represented litigant discovers the truth about the "justice system"
My name is Denis Rancourt. I am self-represented in a $1 million defamation lawsuit against me. The lawsuit is described HERE. And many of the legal documents are posted HERE. The lawsuit has been on-going since the Statement of Claim was filed on June 23, 2011. I filed my Statement of Defence on July 22, 2011. Since that time, some twenty four (24) motions (or mini-trials) have been filed in

US-Iranian nuclear talks fail, Iran has plutonium for 24 Nagasaki-type bombs (assuming they're building them, that is)
The secret, one-on-one nuclear negotiations President Barack Obama launched with Iran have run into a blank wall. A senior Iranian team member, Mostafa Dolatyar, said Friday, Dec. 14 in New Delhi that the diplomatic process for solving the nuclear issue with Iran was in effect going nowhere, because the demand that Tehran halt its 20-percent enrichment of uranium “doesn’t make sense.” He went on to say: “They [the world powers] have made certain connections with purely technical issues and something purely political. In so far as this is the mentality and this is the approach from 5... more »
Why Let the Air Force Decide What We Want?
It's up to Parliament to tell the Air Force what Canada needs from the RCAF, not the other way around. What the Air Force wants and what the country needs are not one and the same. That's especially true for today's "Americanized" military that may be losing sight of the limits of its role in democratic government. The military's guidance is invaluable but rarely infallible. Don't forget how the Big Cod hooked prime minister Martin into approving the combat gig in Kandahar. In recent decades Canada's military has shown itself to be less than - oh, what's the word - honest in... more »
New milestone for China: Probe snaps close-ups of asteroid Toutatis
China's official news agency is reporting that the country's Chang'e 2 deep-space probe made an amazing flyby of the asteroid Toutatis this week, snapping a series of pictures as it passed just 2 miles away. The achievement signals China's entry into yet another exclusive space club. Only four of the world's space efforts have managed close encounters with asteroids: NASA (with NEAR Shoemaker and Dawn, for example), the European Space Agency (with Rosetta), Japan (with Hayabusa) — and now China with Toutatis. http://cosmiclog.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/12/15/15919205-new-milestone-for-... more »
A panda walks into a bar ...

Misapprehension of evidence
*Habib v. Mucaj*, 2012 ONCA 880 deals with setting aside a default based order and considers misapprehension of evidence: [4] It is well settled that a misapprehension of evidence may involve a failure to take into account an item or items of evidence relevant to a material issue, or it may have to do with a mistake about the substance of the evidence. A misapprehension of evidence may also reflect a failure to give proper effect to evidence: *R. v. Mahmood*, 2011 ONCA 693, at para. 46.
The Normalization of Tragedy
Will the massacre of 20 schoolchildren in Connecticut go down in history as the tipping point when a nation finally regained its sanity and just said no to the gun culture and the politicians who enable it? It's too soon to tell about our rulers and their incestuous bedmates in the mass media. After all, when Gabby Giffords was shot, predictions were that the shooting of a congressperson would finally knock some sense into some thick congressional skulls. It did not. But it does appear that regular people are now speaking out with an outrage, indignation and anguish that we have her... more »
Nothing Convinces Quite Like a Taste of the Lash
The onset of extreme weather events is rapidly culling the ranks of climate change skeptics. Megastorms, droughts, heat waves and floods are prevailing as science never could, especially in the home of denialism, the United States. *A poll released on Friday by the Associated Press-GfK found rising concern about climate change among Americans in general, with 80% citing it as a serious problem for the US, up from 73% in 2009. Belief and worry about climate change were rising faster still among people who do tend not to trust scientists on the environment.* *Some of the doubters ... more »
More on Coercive Contraception
More details on genocide by coercive contraception. The documentary on the situation of Ethiopian women in Israel aired last week and is causing a bit of a stir. Israeli and Jewish aid officials are denying an Israeli TV report alleging that Ethiopian immigrant women have been coerced into taking contraceptive shots. The aid group is the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). In the report, a woman identified as S. said she was told at the Jewish aid compound in Gondar, Ethiopia, “If you don’t get the shot, we won’t give you a ticket.” She recalled, “I didn’t want to... more »
You are to Blame for New Town.
From Think Progress Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, issued a statement this evening attributing the massacre to gun regulations, arguing that had weapons been permitted on school grounds, the murders could have been avoided: “Gun control supporters have the blood of little children on their hands. Federal and state laws combined to insure that no teacher, no administrator, no adult had a gun at the Newtown school where the children were murdered. This tragedy underscores the urgency of getting rid of gun bans in school zones. The only thing accomplish... more »
Mrs. Obama, please tell me a story!
*SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2012* *A photo that’s well worth viewing:* Page A2 of this morning’s Washington Post is topped by a photo that’s well worth viewing. Regarding that photo: Jordyn Akuoko is 5—or so it says in the caption which appears in our hard-copy Post. Mrs. Obama encountered her “during an annual event at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington,” the caption reports. ... more »
