Q. Decreasing partisan politics has been a major theme in Presidential US politics for a while now and I cannot see why so much hot air is wasted on the issue. Will any good come out of this debate? A. Partisanship is a product of a two party system. It will always be present as long as choice is so limited. In theory it represents two polar opposites in thinking. At one time this might have been true, but recent events show that the party ideologies are merging. However, even though it may be merging at the elected level, it has not changed at the base level. There are still different ideologies among the people, but our leaders do not appear to be true to their constituents. This does not mean that we should abandon our belief systems, but it should be a warning sign that we need to examine our choices for leadership. Our leaders know this and continue the charade for their own benefit. As long as the populace stays embroiled in the us… [cont.]
