The konvertsy are pulling the same gag that they attempted in the TEC. They want to seize the Church, subject it to their extremist delusions, and run out all of us who disagree with their Anti-Christ, godless, and Mammonistic heresy.
“It is Unnatural and Unacceptable to God!” … Let’s See… That Applies to Bullying, Avarice, Vainglory, Secrecy, Duplicity, Meanness, and Sycophancy… ALL of which are WORSE than Homosexuality Is…
The Church believes that homosexual activity’s sinful… but it also believes that the Free Market’s fraudulent, that employers must pay just and living wages to their staff, and that the state’s ability to tax the affluent at proper levels isn’t only legitimate, it’s a necessity… and I note that the Three White Knights don’t make that clear as well. The Church teaches us, “The love of money is the root of all evil”… it doesn’t teach us, “Homosexuality is the root of all evil”. If one looks at Fathausen’s background, he’s a former real-estate salesman… someone who profited through questionable middleman activities. In fact, any one of his crank real estate deals was a far greater abomination in the eyes of God than any “homosexual couple” is.
Mailbox: A Pastoral Counselor’s take on Leonova’s FB Group
http://www.ocatruth.com/?p=1040
This group on FB lists the need “to be a forum for broader discussion on sexuality within the Orthodox Church”, and that “membership is open to all who are interested in honest, respectful, non-polemical conversation”, but that is not what I have experienced. In an attempt to actually discuss the difference between Orthodoxy and that of innovative heresy, I have been labeled “objective” and accused of attempting to develop consensus, among other things. My words have been twisted by a small minority of group leadership in order to suggest concepts or attitudes that I have not introduced, suggested, or personally represented; and this for the express purpose of targeting anything that is not in lock-step with the idea that Orthodoxy is need of a sexual reformation is labeled as bigotry.

The Circle of Protection is an ecumenical statement attempting to support governmental social programs whose funding is being threatened by the current debt crisis. It is supported by the National Council of Churches, and receives a large part of its funding by the leftish billionaire George Soros.
War, Guilt, and 'Thank you for your service'
Today, a woman or man in military uniform dining in a restaurant, sitting on a bench in Central Park or walking up Broadway constitutes a spectacle.
..... “People thank me for my service,” another officer noted, “but they don’t really know what I’ve done.”
Sometimes, the drama between soldier and civilian turns plain weird. One officer reported that while shopping in uniform at the grocery store one evening, she was startled by a man across the aisle who gave her an earnest, Hollywood-style, chest-thumping Roman salute. My friend is unfailingly gracious, but she was entirely at a loss for a proper response.
These transactions resemble celebrity sightings — with the same awkwardness, enthusiasm and suspension of normal expectations about privacy and personal space. Yet while the celebrity is an individual recognized for a unique, highly publicized performance, the soldier is anonymous, a symbol of an aggregate. His or her performance is unseen.
Today’s dominant narrative, one that favors sentimentality over scrutiny, embodies a fantasy that everything will be okay if only we display enough flag-waving enthusiasm. More than 100,000 homeless veterans, and more than 40,000 troops wounded in action in Iraq and Afghanistan, may have a different view.
Democratic Diva
The crux of the problem with ALEC
The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has been around for decades but has recently attracted media attention due to a spate of reports exposing the organization’s mission to funnel corporate-friendly legislation through its ideologically conservative member legislators. ALEC is holding its annual conference in New Orleans as we speak. The AZ Capitol Times reports that 29 of Arizona’s 61 Republican legislators are in attendance.
Wisconsin Assemblyman Mark Pocan was at the conference and describes the process (emphasis mine).
Just look at their task force structure. They break down their issue areas into task forces.Think Progress
Every issue task force (ie Tax and Fiscal Policy, Health and Human Services, etc.) is made up of two equal parts. Half is the public sector part (state legislators), and half is the private sector part (corporations). In order for model legislation to move forward, each task force must garner a majority of votes from each HALF. For example, if the legislator half likes an idea, but the corporate half doesn’t, the bill does NOT move forward. I saw that happen today.
That’s a lot of power for the corporate sponsorship of an organization. Maybe too much, many would say.
But that is ALEC. Fully funded by, sponsored by, and driven by its much wealthier corporate interests.

Radiation Nation
Radiation Nation is Firedoglake's attempt to turn frustration into information. It is an effort to take all of the news, statistics, websites and debates about the fallout from the Fukushima nuclear disaster, and turn them into a useful, productive, dependable, and, above all, understandable resource. Radiation Nation may not start with all the answers, but it starts with the idea that we—me, you, other FDL contributors, and a wide variety of experts, authors, researchers, and journalists—will find ways to get the answers.
