Nations on two borders have been invaded by U.S. forces.
Iran is routinely flogged as a nuclear menace for operating power generation under a treaty which guaranteed they would not be harassed for doing so. Most recently they tried to process technology for nuclear medicine to the usual economic reprisals.

Does anyone remember that U.S. forces imprisoned and tortured Iranian consular guests of the Iraqi 'government' ?

Comparison to Gitmo and Abu Ghraib leave the U.S. without so much as a stub of a crutch to support protests...and Ted Kennedy is gone.
Maybe Jimmy Carter would take it on. Who else has any moral status whatsoever ?
