Nurse Rise ~ Nurses for Safe Water
Living
Downstream and Sandra in New York City, Saturday, October 20! "She asks
one of the essential questions of our age: How much proof is necessary
to treat industrial contamination of air, soil and streams as human
rights issues? This is a powerful and compelling film about a woman
whose brilliance is surpassed only by her honesty and grit."

SHOULD the UNITED STATES be FRACKED
to SUPPLY FOREIGN NATIONS with NATURAL GAS
"...Finally consider this: If the U.S. does export shale gas, it will be supplying countries like France that have already banned fracking because it’s too da
ngerous.
Is the U.S. on its way to becoming an energy extraction colony for other nations?
Are we the new Third World?"

Stunning!:
"In findings that will intensify opposition to the controversial
process of hydraulic fracturing, some 47 per cent of respondents in the
"new shale" states of Pennsylvania and New York, who have rented out
their land, said they wouldn't repeat the experience."
A
perfect example of the lack of concern for safety on the part of the
fracking industry. This locking cage is supposed to be OVER the
wellhead, not sitting next to it. From southern Idaho, and verified for
real, since friends of mine were standing there looking at it and
taking photos of the unguarded wellhead.

The price tag is just too high for something we could do much more safely and sanely with anaerobic digestion.
Ecocide, in action and in planning. Sucks doesn't begin to cover it, and all for the wealth and benefit of the few.
ickening.

For anyone who has not heard Brian Kerkvliet's thoughts on resilience, this video is a great place to start: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA0QYkYAjDE&list=PLA2wDF-E-OHDVVpB0j101APo8POr_yfdT&index=1&feature=plpp_video
What Does Resilience Mean to You? - Brian Kerkvliet
www.youtube.com
Brian Kerkvliet of Inspiration Farm describes what a resilient farm will look like in the 21st century. More Stories at:
"There
are 27 million slaves in the world today: That's more than double the
number of people taken from Africa during the entire transatlantic slave
trade. A hundred and fifty years ago, an
average agricultural slave cost over three times the average yearly
wage of an American worker, about US$50,000 in today's money. Yet now,
entire families can be enslaved for generations over a debt as small as
$18. Slavery is illegal everywhere, but it exists all over the world."
These are the two protesters who were tortured by police, egged on by Transcanada officials. The two protesters said having pepper spray sprayed on the open wounds the police had created on their arms inside the lock-down set-up was excruci
ating,
but by encouraging each other and sticking together they got through it
without begging mercy. Where are the troops? If this is not invasion of
American soil, I don't know what is. If we want to declare war on those
who are terrorizing America, Trans-Canada should be at the top of the
list.
