BERLIN, GERMANY - JANUARY 24: Cups of just-brewed flat white, a variation on the classic cappuccino, stand on a counter at Bonanza Coffee Roasters on January 24, 2011 in Berlin, Germany. Bonanza founder Kiduk Reus is among a growing number of so-called third wave artisinal coffee bean roasters who are finding a niche market in Europe and the USA for their carefully-crafted and expensive coffee. Reus insists that the cast iron parts, the slow-roasting abilities and hands-on controls of his flame-roasting, refurbished 1918 Probat machine allow him to develop the most flavour from his carefully selected beans. Over six weeks after flooding began, new devastation continues across the Sindh province of Pakistan, as flood waters, still on the rise, continue to overcome new villages. The country's agricultural heartland has been devastated, with rice, corn and wheat crops destroyed by floods. Officials say as many as 22 million people have been effected during Pakistan's worst flooding in 80 years. The army and aid organisations are struggling to cope with the scope of the wide spread scale of the disaster that has killed over 1,700 people and displaced millions. The UN has described the disaster as unprecedented, with over a third of the country under water. Almost a year ago now the Pakistan floods ravaged the country of Pakistan affecting over 20 million people, displacing over 4 million and killing around 1,000 people. The country is still in it's recovery phase with hundreds of thousands of people still rendered homeless. During last years floods, mother Zahida Parveen encountered difficulties when giving birth at her mother-in-laws flood engulfed home. Her family alerted the Pakistan Army conducting rescue operations in the area, who then despatched a helicopter to rescue the pregnant woman. As the Army helicopter was circling to find a safe place to land, Zahida gave birth to Uman and as it landed Usman was born. Zahida was then carried on a charpai, or makeshift bed, through flood waters to the helicopter. Zahida, with her mother in law, was admitted into a military hospital where she was provided free medical care for 3 days and given 600 rupees, (8USD) in order to get transport home.'The floods, were devastating, we lost an acre of cotton crops, and it destroyed our home, but the floods also bought happiness for me with the birth of my first twin boys' said the mother of three girls.
