Iceland Has Hired An Ex-Cop To Hunt Down The Bankers That Wrecked Its Economy

Help Yourself, it's all free...

Halting the demise of social civilisation is probably beyond the scope of this blog (should Google ever deign to return it for a search), BUT helping the walking wounded is a possibility.

The way scientists and teachers introduce geology and seismology to people doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Forever measuring cracks and faults, and best guesstimating the next Big One, their noses pressed to seismographs and charts, all the time claiming pre-diction isn't possible. Whilst every day quakes happen at Sunset, Moonset, Sunrise, Moonrise; at Full Moon it's the moment a fault gets pulled perpendicularly open with the Sun one side and the Moon the other; at New Moon the Massifs get pulled by the combined gravities, so Capes, Islands and Bulky Mountains (vulcanics) are in more danger. And it isn't just predictable - it's obvious on infra-red as the hot weird cloud and gas formations take shape over stressed areas. Meanwhile the scientists are surprised to find a new crack, sometimes even a new volcano! Or to see plates reverse direction (Mexico) - well they will do if 2 or 3 billion tons of ice is lost at Antarctica - there's also liable to be Big Quakes then at, let me see, Haiti, Chile, Canterbury Plain NZ, Indian Ocean Ridge, South Africa / South Sandwich.. All the time these stressed areas glow on infra red. This is best seen through one of the Meteo Sats..

 Website SEO HelpJanuary-16-11 5:48 PM B
Warning!  As the web reaches into nearly every little village on the planet, the number of websites are currently expanding, and the number of people needing help are providing a tasty pool of minnows to the ever circling sharks. From blatant extorionism with threatening phonecalls to clueless poor English speakers claiming to be 'SEO experts', to the search engines themselves and the elite lifestyle of web people who approach the gall and guile of taxmen and solicitors rôlled into one, the web isn't a place for mom&pop outfits or pleasant naive business owners expecting honourable dealing.  If you're thinking of phoning one of these 'experts' for help, then at least put: 'website design (your county)' into a search engine - if they're not approaching placement in the first page of results, then neither will your site after they've fiddled with it and charged you 4 figures..

Performance Is what it's all about. Chucking ingredients at the screen and hoping a search engine to make a wholesome pizza is asking a bit much. If your site isn't listed well, check the /robots.txt, or meta tags. Are you telling it to noindex/nofollow anywhere?! A new site can take an age to list. This is where a link from a forum, or another site that is on the web, would help. 'Search engine submission' put into a search, should bring up the engine pages where you can 'add a site', to make sure the engines are aware of you.

Vast Effort by FDA Spied on E-Mails of Its Own Scientists

wide-ranging surveillance operation by the Food and Drug Administration against a group of its own scientists used an enemies list of sorts as it secretly captured thousands of e-mails that the disgruntled scientists sent privately to members of Congress, lawyers, labor officials, journalists and even President Obama, previously undisclosed records show.
What began as a narrow investigation into the possible leaking of confidential agency information by five scientists quickly grew in mid-2010 into a much broader campaign to counter outside critics of the agency's medical review process, according to the cache of more than 80,000 pages of computer documents generated by the surveillance effort.
Moving to quell what one memorandum called the "collaboration" of the F.D.A.'s opponents, the surveillance operation identified 21 agency employees, Congressional officials, outside medical researchers and journalists thought to be working together to put out negative and "defamatory" information about the agency.
The extraordinary surveillance effort grew out of a bitter dispute lasting years between the scientists and their bosses at the F.D.A. over the scientists' claims that faulty review procedures at the agency had led to the approval of medical imaging devices for mammograms and colonoscopies that exposed patients to dangerous levels of radiation.
A confidential government review in May by the Office of Special Counsel, which deals with the grievances of government workers, found that the scientists' medical claims were valid enough to warrant a full investigation into what it termed "a substantial and specific danger to public safety."

The War on Science

Your Trillion-Dollar War on Drugs

Fascism Is As Fascism Does #2

Henry A. Wallace, 33rd Vice President (1941-1945) and Progressive Party candidate for President in 1948 foresaw the emergence of Fascist rhetoric in the United States in the 1940s. His take on it:

The American fascists are most easily recognized by their deliberate perversion of truth and fact. Their newspapers and propaganda carefully cultivate every fissure of disunity, every crack in the common front against fascism. They use every opportunity to impugn democracy. They use isolationism as a slogan to conceal their own selfish imperialism. They cultivate hate and distrust of both Britain and Russia. They claim to be super-patriots, but they would destroy every liberty guaranteed by the Constitution. They demand free enterprise, but are the spokesmen for monopoly and vested interest. Their final objective toward which all their deceit is directed is to capture political power so that, using the power of the state and the power of the market simultaneously, they may keep the common man in eternal subjection.
In "The Rise of Fascism in America", an Essay for Common Dreams in 2006, Gary Alan Scott provided us with the following chillingly accurate prediction of what life in the United States was going to be like less than six years down the road:
The rulers will act in secret, for reasons of "national security," and the people will not be permitted to know what goes on in their name. Actions once unthinkable will be accepted as routine: government by executive fiat, state murder of "enemies" selected by the leader, undeclared wars, torture, mass detentions without charge, the looting of the national treasury, the creation of huge new "security structures" targeted at the populace. In time, this will be seen as "normal," as the chill of autumn feels normal when summer is gone. It will all seem normal.

 Radiation in our Food

The balance of prestige, if not yet the balance of power, between the United States and China has shifted...In some disturbing ways, Sino-American competition is beginning to parallel the contest between us and the Soviet Union in the Cold War. This time, however, the United States is in the fiscally precarious position of the USSR, while China plays the economically robust role we once did.

Former Monsanto Employee Exposes Fraud

his week the Food Nation Radio Network interviewed former Monsanto employee Kirk Azevedo about his concerns with the leading biotech company's practices, a timely interview as the battle over genetically engineered (GE) food regulation continues on a state, national, and international scale.

My impression, and I think most people's impression with genetically engineered foods and crops and other things is that it's just like putting one gene in there and that one gene is expressed. If that was the case, well then that's not so bad. But in reality, the process of genetic engineering changes the cell in such a way that it's unknown what the effects are going to be.

After Creating Dollar Exclusion Zones In Asia And South America, China Set To Corner Africa Next

By now it really, really should be obvious. While the insolvent "developed world" is furiously fighting over who gets to pay the bill for 30 years of unsustainable debt accumulation and how to pretend that the modern 'crony capitalist for some and communist for others' system isn't one flap of a butterfly's wings away from full on collapse mode, China is slowly taking over the world's real assets.
China Daily:
China is to promote the yuan's use in settling trade and investment with Africa, and encourage the more active development of Chinese financial institutions across the continent, a senior central bank official said on Friday.

Li Dongrong, assistant governor of the People's Bank of China, said Africa has the capability of becoming a new hub of international capital flow, and the yuan's use there should be further improved in accordance with rising demand for the currency there.

"We will continue to encourage domestic financial institutions to increase their presence and business across the continent," Li told delegates at the Forum on China-Africa Financial Cooperation in Beijing, adding that the cooperation potential between the two sides is huge, as Africa's economy continues to take off.

Peak Oil Oppositional Disorder: Neurosis or Psychosis?

Denial is where you know something full well (e.g., that there is a finite amount of economically recoverable oil and that we have already burned through about half of it) but refuse to consider it as important. Denial is symptomatic of neurosis. Neurotics are not considered particularly dangerous; they can be quite annoying, and they can sometimes pose a threat to themselves, but they are, in general, not considered to pose a threat to society. They can also be quite charming: Woody Allen parlayed his neuroses into a successful acting/directing career. (In German the title of his film Annie Hall is Stadtneurotiker—“urban neurotic.”)

Delusion, on the other hand, is symptomatic of psychosis. Now, when was the last you ran across a charming, urbane, popular, successful psychotic? Back to Freud: old Sigmund distinguishes two types of thinking: there is secondary process thinking—the good kind—the domain of the well-adjusted, socialized self, grounded in consensual reality, reasonableness, rationality and logic. And then there is primary, or archaic process thinking—the bad kind—the product of obsession, compulsion, hallucination and… here we go… delusion. The path that leads from neurosis to psychosis is a regression toward a more primitive, archaic, infantile self. Take your typical neurotic (refuses to face Peak Oil, spouts gibberish about it when pressed), put that neurotic through a terrible, ego-destroying crisis, and that individual may regress and lapse into psychosis.
What happens to individuals also happens to entire societies.

(  :) There we go. I am not a `denier`...but delusional. I refuse to treat weather or climate prophecy as a scientific exercise ! ....especially when no `evidence` is available that cannot be attributed to random or unknown factors - the science being so hoary and well established, you see. And by knowing `the fix` is operational, of course.
