International Accreditation in Education Can Bring Huge Benefits to the Pacific - If It Is Done Right
SUVA, Fiji, Feb 17 (IPS) - All over the world, students who attend tertiary education do so with the belief that the investment of their time, money and effort will provide them with returns on that investment that will change their lives and the lives of their families for years to come. As qualified graduates, those students emerge from their tertiary programmes with recognised skills and knowledge making them employable in their chosen fields, moving them forward along a career pathway and in many cases, bringing recognition to the institutions that trained them as they experie... read more

This startling fact is kept from the public by a determined effort on the part of alarmists and their media allies who are determined to use the language of crisis and emergency. The goal of Net Zero emissions in the UK by 2050 is controversial enough as a policy because of the pain it is causing. But what if that pain is all to prevent something that is not doing net harm? Kaylee White: For years, the Left has dominated much of the common culture and its institutions, from Hollywood to public schools to workers unions. But not anymore. The hold Democrats once held on cultural issues is breaking, as evidenced by several recent elections. In November, Republican Glenn Youngkin won the Virginia gubernatorial election, performing shockingly well in blue counties among parents of K-12 children and suburban women because he made parental access to education a focal point of his campaign. In New York City, left-leaning voters rejected leftist mayoral can... read more

As reported by National Public Radio (NPR), rent costs in Orlando rose nearly 30 percent just last year alone, according to a survey by th... read more

Unions accused of forgeries to take member money
Red States: Last week, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments in three cases dealing with public employee labor unions accused of forging employee signatures on dues-authorization cards so they can take their money without permission and spend it on politics. When combined with *nearly a dozen* other instances of union forgery filed just in courts under the purview of the 9th Circuit, not to mention a separate case currently pending before the 8th Circuit, the actions vividly illustrate just how far unions will go to advance their own political agenda with no regard fo... read more

Two Interpretations Of The Ukrainian Affair
The choice of the Anglo-Saxons to ignore the Russian proposal for a treaty guaranteeing peace and to substitute it with the fantasy of a Ukrainian crisis is not bearing fruit. France is agitated, Germany is paralyzed, but Hungary is likely to lead its neighbors to a position identical to that of Russia: the defense of international law. read more

Trudeau, a victim of workers?
Washington Examiner: In Justin Trudeau's mind, he's always the victim. Trudeau, the boyish, blackface-wearing prime minister of Canada, views himself as an oppressed underclass. His oppressors are Canadian truckers — working people with concerns about his vaccine mandates and his long-standing border lockdown. He believes that by staging a protest in his capital city of Ottawa, the truckers are committing treason — or something very close to it. For parking their trucks outside Parliament, making noise, and engaging in civil disobedience, these truckers have been accused by Trud... read more

Companies that still demand vaccine mandates have something in common
Children's Health Defense: After the U.S. Supreme Court last month froze the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for large private employers, some companies — including Boeing, General Electric and Starbucks — dropped plans to implement the mandate. Others, based on guidance issued in 2020 by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, left the mandates in place. Most of the large employers that opted to mandate COVID vaccines for their employees, even though the Supreme Court ruled they didn’t have to, have something in common: BlackRock and The Vanguard Group have... read more

I think the prosecution will lose this one at the Supreme Court if necessary. No Forced Arbitration For Sexual Harassment Is A Good Start
The House and Senate have passed the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act of 2021. It will go into effect once signed by President Biden. This law will ban forced arbitration and class action waivers for all claims regarding sexual assault and sexual harassment. This was the House version, which is much better than the original Senate version that limited what was defined as sexual harassment. The version passed covers all sexual harassment cases as we know them. Here's what it says: § 401. Definitions “In this chapter: “(1) PREDISPUTE ARBITRATIO... read more

Failure in Moscow: Liz Truss Loses Britannia’s Way
Incompetent politicians and diplomats are on the level with ill-prepared generals fighting current wars with dated methods. They err, they stumble, and they may well be responsible for the next idiotic slander, misfire or misunderstanding.
