DEMOCRATIC OFFICEHOLDERS ARE FECKLESS BECAUSE DEMOCRATIC VOTERS ARE NAIVE
Democrats in D.C. appear paralyzed right now -- they're engaged in futile attempts to negotiate a bipartisan infrastructure bill while they're unable to pass election reforms because of Joe Manchin's opposition to their main reform bill and because of his insistence, along with Kyrsten Sinema, on preserving the filibuster. What's wrong with Democrats? Why don't they fight harder? Why do they always try to appease obstructionists? They do it because many of their voters insist. Beckwith on Lemon
The Law and Liberty blog has published my response to an essay by Prof. Francis Beckwith, who blames the leading Establishment Clause case, Lemon v. The test is so mushy that it could have no effect unless supplemented by unstated premises. Cíl Evoluce - Pohled M.N. Hopkinse
Je to vzájemná dohod... read more

The Unstoppable Leadership of Eisenhower and MacArthur
*Warfare History Network* *History, * Both generals will go down in history as each having successful, yet unique, leadership qualities. *Key Point*: “I studied dramatics under him for five years in Washington and four years in the Philippines.” Two of America’s most famous senior commanders to emerge from World War II were Generals of the Army Douglas MacArthur and Dwight D. Eisenhower. These officers were largely responsible for command decisions that resulted in Allied victories in the South Pacific and in Europe. While both are rightly regarded as victors, their personaliti... read more
Meet the 5 Greatest Submarines of the Cold War
*Robert Farley* *Submarines, World* Many of the boats designed and built during the Cold War remain in service today. *Here's What You Need to Know*: The basic design concepts of Cold War submarines were, fortunately, never tested in direct combat. History’s three great submarine campaigns include the First Battle of the Atlantic, the Second Battle of the Atlantic, and the US Navy’s (USN) war against Japanese commerce in World War II. The contestants fought these campaigns through asymmetrical means, with submarines doing battle against aircraft and surface escorts. But the gre... read more
No More Stimulus Checks. No More Extra Unemployment: What Happens Now?
*Ethen Kim Lieser* *Unemployment Benefits, * Data have indicated millions of Americans are utilizing unemployment benefits to make ends meet. *Here's What You Need to Remember: *Moreover, it appears that the U.S. economy is continuing to gain momentum. The Labor Department reported Friday that hiring accelerated last month, with employers adding nearly five hundred sixty thousand jobs, double the previous month’s gains. The unemployment rate also fell from 6.1 percent to 5.8 percent. They may not be seen as traditional coronavirus stimulus checks, but federal enhanced jobless be... read more
Nuclear Nightmare: In 1985, the Carrier USS Enterprise Collided With an Island
*Steve Weintz* *Aircraft Carriers, Americas* The drowned island tore a sixty-foot-long gash in the side of the Enterprise’s torpedo-resistant hull. *Here's What You Need to Know*: The sea tale of the Ship and the Rock is a caution for all good sailors. Spend some time with Google Earth, an atlas or a globe and you will see that California, for peoples used to the Atlantic, was indeed the far side of the world well into the nineteenth century. What is now one of the most populated, navalized coastlines on Earth remained poorly known even to mariners. Somehow such mystery lingers... read more
