In Vaccines We Trust? Vaccine inventor Paul Offit seeks end to religious and philosophical vaccine exemptions
Dr. Suzanne Humphries, *Contributor* Millionaire vaccine inventor and mandatory vaccine advocate Paul Offit recently released a short VIDEO for doctors on medscape. Here is a transcript of the speech. This statement that outlines Offit’s personal belief system could be a prelude to the legal removal of all philosophical and religious vaccine exemptions in the United States of America. This is something that Offit has been working toward for years, and the likely end-purpose of his series of books. Graham Crawshaw, 1931-2012
I’ve just received the very sad news that inspirational literacy campaigner and friend Graham Crawshaw died on Sunday at his home. [image: image] Graham Crawshaw’s greatest passion was teaching young boys to read. In around two weeks on what he called his Reading Adventure Camps, he gave un-reading and troubled young boys “alternatives to angry behaviour, offering them activities involving the three key elements boys love – mud, fire and water. After awhile, they forget to be angry.” And they were taught to read. Graham’s two criteria for choosing boys for his camps were 1) the... more »

"The Program": The National Security Agency's Domestic Spying Program
It took me a few days to work up the nerve to phone William Binney. As someone already a “target” of the United States government, I found it difficult not to worry about the chain of unintended consequences I might unleash by calling Mr. Binney, a 32-year veteran of the National Security Agency turned whistle-blower. He picked up. I nervously explained I was a documentary filmmaker and wanted to speak to him. To my surprise he replied: “I’m tired of my government harassing me and violating the Constitution. Yes, I’ll talk to you.” Two weeks later, driving past the headquarters of... more »

Susanne Posel, *Contributor* Congressman Paul Ryan, appearing to want to facilitate a national discussion about the too-big-to-fail banks, is really just focusing the social attention toward the concept that these banks are “systemically important.” As the mega-banks face the controlled demolition of the US dollar, they have taken the stance of victim to the implosion; and along with insurance companies, finance corporations, hedge and money-market funds are being touted according to the Financial Stability Oversight Council as being important institutions. In America, the meg... more »

Former Florida GOP Governor Endorses Obama And SLAMS Republican Party For Extreme Right Wing Direction
*"An element of their party has pitched so far to the extreme right on issues important to women, immigrants, seniors and students that they’ve proven incapable of governing for the people." * *Charles Crist * *Former Republican Gov of Florida* *Globe & Mail* *"People who depend upon the aid of the government via food stamps, unemployment checks and mortgage relief are typically written off as parasites and losers. Meanwhile, corporations that depend upon government largess for bailouts and subsidies are celebrated as paragons of free enterprise"* *"But the Republican gimmick of ... more »
The Toronto Public Archery Range overflowing with New Archers
The *Toronto Public Archery Range* is overflowing with new archers in the wake of all the archery films that came out in 2011 and 2012. A year ago you could go the archery range, also known as the Seton Park Archery Range, and on a busy day you might see 4 to 6 people there. But in the Summer of 2012 the numbers on a busy day range from 20 to even as high as 30 people there. The range is so busy that on weekday mornings (eg. 9 AM Tuesday morning) there will be 4 to 6 archers there. What that tells you is that the sport has basically quintupled in popularity compared to a year ago. ... more »

Crunch Time For Tesla
It is now quite easy to design and roll out a new car. Certainly as compared to what was possible two decades ago. Yet folks have gone out and tried over and over again. The bad news is that they are all dead. I also learned years ago that investors are all car experts and must be shown an incredibly sexy car. The real problem is volume manufacturing and distribution. The one company today that could pull it off is Magna. The rest out there I simply do not see. The only way to break into the global market is to produce a super cheap car in huge volumes and buy mar... more »
Why your weathercaster doesn’t mention climate change
[image: imageScreenshot of the Cliff Mass Weather Blog, 26 August 2012. Cliff Mass is known for being a weatherman and vocal denier of climate science. He touts a 'middle road' between 'deniers' and 'alarmists' but employs long-debunked arguments such as urban heat island effect to explain global warming.] Bu Gina-Marie Cheeseman, Triple Pundit 27 August 2012 Call him one of the bravest weathercasters in the country. Broadcasting in South Carolina, a red state for sure, Jim Gandy is not afraid to link extreme weather events and patterns with climate change. Gandy does a segment c... more »
Kokesh Banned from Ron Paul Festival
Editor's Note: The following exchange between Adam Kokesh and Webster Tarpley seems to mark the beginning of Kokesh's reassessment of the Paul Campaign. Whether co-opted or initially conceived as a honeypot to draw and weaken opposition to the Romney machine, the Paul campaign has succeeded in leaving millions disenfranchised by this political process. iroots The following instructions regarding Adam Kokesh are contained in the packet of information for volunteers being trained to help at Ron Paul’s Sun Dome Rally–expected to draw over 10,000. The event will be broadcasted live ... more »
Revenge of the Son of the Return of Cranky Blogging
Now extra-cranky since my youngest started school today, thus switching my sleep schedule. That is, less. So: I have two complaints about Robert Frank's pitch for a carbon tax in the Sunday NYT Business section. The first complaint is a false-equivalency complaint. Well, actually, begin before that: I was highly annoyed from the beginning. He starts by saying "Don't expect to hear much about climate change at the Republican and Democratic conventions." Will that be true? Maybe, maybe not. It's just as likely that we'll hear plenty of climate denialism at the GOP gathering, perhaps ... more »
What A Difference A Day Makes...
Regular readers know that Southern Man is vacating the apartment in town to live out at The Land for a while. Most of the big stuff is moved but there remains a few items plus a lot (and Southern Man means *a lot*) of cleaning, which has to be done by the end of the month. Well, that's what weekends are for, right? For whatever reason Southern Man had figured on using most of Saturday to accomplish the remaining tasks. But a glance at the calendar this morning reveals that the last day of the month is not Saturday. It is Friday. * Friday*. What a difference a day makes! So this ... more »
Lighting the Way
Hello! We arrive today at our beginning, the place where love was planted. It rests within you. It’s always been there. We just had to turn the light on so we could find it. Our light is on now. We may need to install fresh batteries now and again to keep it going. That’s okay; we know where to get them and which ones work the best. They are found in the places that feed our soul. We are components of the One – each an integral part, necessary and unique. In 1898, Konstantin Stanislavsky said “There are no small parts, just small actors”. Sometimes we imagine our lig... more »
Labour's two Eds 'are like Blair and Brown'... and it could get worse
* Relations between Labour leader Ed Miliband and Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls have deteriorated, according to senior Labour sources.* Shadow Cabinet ministers are now concerned the relationship is so dysfunctional it has the potential to be worse than that of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Allies of Mr Miliband say they are exasperated at Mr Balls’ ‘ridiculous displays of alpha male posturing’. The Shadow Chancellor has infuriated colleagues with his demands to have first sight of any policy announcements and vetoes those which he disagrees with. Sources complain Mr Balls appears open... more »
French police armed with truncheons and shields clear out gypsy camp in Paris
* French Interior Minister Manuel Valls today ordered police to destroy a Roma camp in his political powerbase and to deport illegal immigrants living there.* Officers armed with truncheons and shields moved in to the settlement in the Paris suburb of Evry, where he was mayor for 11 years from 2001. MEDICARE MUDDLE: We, the Walpiri!
*MONDAY, AUGUST 27, 2012* *Conclusion: The world’s most primitive journalists:* Everyone has heard about the less-than-modern people who never developed full number systems. According to these stories, such people have words for “one” and “two,” but then go straight to “many.” That’s as far as their number words, or their counting systems, extend. In our world, such people would be poorly equipped to discuss a great many real-life situations—although some of these situations may not present in their daily lives. Are these stories true? The Number Warrior says they are. He cites Bl... more »
Be Prepared: 4 Foods for Your Survival Food Storage
Lisa Garber In both the ‘30s and recent history, economic collapses and food shortages troubled average people across the nation and globe. While a global food and energy crisis may seem outlandish to some, there’s no harm in being prepared by knowing what foods to store in the event of such a blowback. In an ideal world, we would all have access to locally raised, organic, fresh foods, but this isn’t the reality in which we currently live. In the event of such a crisis, it is important to makeup your survival food storage with food that will last for several years or even deca... more »
Warning to Activists: Agent Provocateurs Want to Make You a Terrorist
Intelhub J.G. Vibes For hundreds of years the establishment has used agent provocateurs as a means of discrediting protest movements that spoke out against the injustice that was being perpetrated by the ruling class. Provocateurs are basically undercover agents, who infiltrate activist groups and try to provoke or push various members of these groups into doing something illegal that they can then immediately be arrested for. Even if the activists aren’t arrested, the incident can then be used as a propaganda piece against dissenters everywhere. This is how things have played out... more »
