The global Agricultural energy revolution
arclein, Terra Forming Terra - 22 hours ago
Throughout the thirteen years or so that i have been building this blog, one of my primary objectives was to fully realize the future of global agriculture. My instrumentality is the natural community optimizing a swath of land. Economically the natural community numbers around 150 individuals put in combination with three other communitues to occupy a crossroads. This will easily work with a square mile of land and additional wastelands as well. Central to our future will be the steady production of biochar to act as a nutriant sequestering agent. The soil does well with ...
Winter fighting in WWII
arclein, Terra Forming Terra - 22 hours ago
Another myth bites the dust. I admit that i bought the myth because no one challenged it. Yet it makes sense. The logistics tail was almost impossible and was ultimately impossible to extend against a developing Soviet Threat. We forget that Germany gobbled up the entire three million man soviet Army when they first attascked. Then they marched on the major cities. Soviet resistence at that point had to be feeble. The soviets had to bring back the core of their army facing Japan likely by sending recruits East for training. Had Japan remained on a war footing against Russ...
We are going to get them all! 80% of legal watermarked ballets voted for Trump
arclein, Terra Forming Terra - 22 hours ago
Understand that the National Guard has already run a major test on all those ballets to discover that eighty percent of the legal ballets voted for Trump. This time he also jumped from 62,000,000 to 72,000,000 and that represents a 10,000,000 swing from the DEMs. Also understand that the 2016 election thus had at most 40,000,000 vgotes for HRC and i think the realistic number is around 30,000,000 votes. Thus the 10,000,000 vote swing came directly from that to reduce the current vote for the DEMs to around 22,000,000. This election is a total DEM disater and the scanners will...
Russia preparing to beat Canada in race for Arctic resources
arclein, Terra Forming Terra - 22 hours ago
Nice story. However, this is an issue that the UN needs to address. Same as the South China Sea. The whole subject of ocean rights does need to be properly addressed. I do think that most open water outside the twelve mile limit itself should be directly administered by the UN. It will at least give them something to do. Right now all players are speculating and it would be best to settle all this. *Russia preparing to beat Canada in race for Arctic resourcesBy Eugene GerdenRussia plans to beat Canada and the US in the race for Arctic h...

*Sebastien Roblin* *Security, World* [image: Wikimedia Commons] Diesel and nuclear-powered submarines have repeatedly succeeded in evading detection and “sinking” U.S. carriers during naval exercises. Could America Have Avoided the Iraq War by Killing Saddam Hussein?
Robert Farley, The National Interest - 20 hours ago
*Robert Farley* *Security, Middle East* America tried and failed to kill Saddam Hussein in the early days of the Gulf War. How would U.S. interaction with Iraq have differed over the 1991-2015 period if decapitation had worked? *Here's What You Need To Remember: *The replacement of Saddam Hussein could have had major effects on both sides of the Washington-Baghdad relationship. Most importantly, it might have given the United States an opportunity to accommodate itself to the survival of the Baath regime, which could well have prevented the disastrous 2003 war. 5 Crucial Elements No True Navy Can Live Without
Robert Farley, The National Interest - 20 hours ago
*Robert Farley* *Security, * Only a handful of countries meet the criteria to be a considered a "blue water" force. *Here's What You Need to Remember: *No seafaring nation can live without these five capabilities. Analysts and politicians throw around the term “blue-water navy” as if it has a single, fixed meaning. Broadly speaking, having a blue water navy means having the capacity to deploy a task force of ships across the open ocean, and to support them at great distance from their bases. Having a blue water navy means that a nation has the potential to play a big role on th...
Does Russia Need a Stealth Bomber? (And Can It Afford One?)

*Sebastien Roblin* *Security, Eurasia* [image: Reuters] If everything goes smoothly, on time and with adequate funding—and it almost never does in such defense programs—then the Russian military would begin testing in 2026 and production could begin in 2028. *Here's What You Need to Remember: *A stealth bomber program would cost a fortune - particularly for Russia, which is already in dire economic straits. It's also not clear what would be gained from a security perspective; any target a stealth bomber could reach, Russia's air force could already hit with its sophisticated miss...

*by Noah* Today is Veterans Day. On Veterans Day, we celebrate our living military veterans, the ones who came back to us. Many are healthy. Many are physically and/or mentally unhealthy to varying degrees. All are considered "suckers and losers" by Donald Trump and, apparently, by those who support him and work for him in his administration. They even call him the Commander-in-Chief, even if, in his and their eyes, he is the Commander-in-Chief of "suckers and losers." Full Disclosure: I did not serve. Timing mattered. For a couple of reasons, I would have been rejected if cal...
