President Herd Mentality Faces Undecided Voters In Pennsylvania-- It Goes As Badly As You Might Expect

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 16 hours ago
Trump did a 90 minute town-hall event on ABC-TV Tuesday night in Pennsylvania. It went so badly that on Fox Laura Ingraham called it "an ambush." Sure, letting Trump speak off the cuff is *always* tantamount to an ambush from a right-wing perspective. He's a doofus and he sounds like a doofus. Example, he said he has absolutely no regrets for anything he's done in handling the pandemic and wouldn't have done anything differently. Fine, that alone could lose him the election. This week an intense state by state COVID survey was released by Harvard, Rutgers, Northwestern Universit... more »

"Radio 4 used to be the home of sober reporting..."

Craig at Is the BBC biased? - 16 hours ago
Here's an interesting comment from Red Handler on the unofficial army forum ARRSE: I caught the end of The Media Show. It struck me that quite a few opinions were presented as fact. They talked about BAME representation in the media, but two of the four persons on the programme were BAME {judging by their names}: 50% representation is much more than the proportion of BAME by overall population size. Then I caught the BBC Radio 4 News at Six, which included a lot of opinion presented as fact and, overall, came over either as (a) a lot of effort being made to spin stories agains... more »

Dang, Australia, weren't the snakes bad enough?

If its appearance alone somehow fails to impress, the male of the species is also one of the world’s few venomous mammals! Equipped with sharp stingers on the heels of its hind feet, the male platypus can deliver a strong toxic blow to any approaching foe." The Sino-Russian Alliance Comes of Age — Part 2

barovsky at The New Dark Age - 17 hours ago
The Russian diplomacy, which has a glorious tradition in modern history, does not make its moves accidentally or impulsively. The historical consciousness is intense. Memories from the past and the present lie deeply embedded, hopelessly entangled in the collective consciousness. A little-noticed fact remains to be that the Russian-Chinese statement of September 11 was released on the eve of the thirtieth anniversary of The Treaty on the Final Settlement with Respect to Germany.

*Johndan Johnson-Eilola* *Entertainment, Americas* [image: Reuters] The burnt orange world they were witnessing was eerily reminiscent of scenes from sci-fi films like “Blade Runner: 2049” and “Dune.” On Sept. 9, many West Coast residents looked out their windows and witnessed a post-apocalyptic landscape: silhouetted cars, buildings and people bathed in an overpowering orange light that looked like a jacked-up sunset. This is an unusual bit of history. I was familiar with Babson's effect on market analysis. There are gravity like effects on markets actually driven mostly by profit taking and also profit protection. This sharply abates once all holders are at break even or losing. These two concept needs to be well understood. We do not have a real antigravity effect in markets. We have instead a wave of greed lifting prices. What we see here is a completely effective way to nicely cook fish. Simply placing the two fillets on a log and setting it by burning wood is enough to cook it. This can also apply to other small game as well. Usually we see pictures of gobbets of flesh on a sharp stick which is unsatisfactory as a cooking method. This is much better. *I was cooking this trout I caught two days ago.... more »
