Caleb Larson, The National Interest - 3 hours ago
*Caleb Larson* *Air Force One, * A realistic concept, or is a supersonic Air Force One just a pipe dream? *Here's What You Need To Remember: *The Air Force announcement is somewhat surprising considering the work that is already being done on the newest upcoming Air Force One generation. Still, as far as reviving supersonic travel goes, this attempt might be the most serious. Watch this topic for developments in the future. Alternate History: The First SR-71 Spy Plane Was Almost British
Michael Peck, The National Interest - 3 hours ago
*Michael Peck* *SR-71, * Yet Britain had plans for a high-altitude, supersonic reconnaissance aircraft that could have flown as early as 1965. *Here's What You Need to Remember: *The plan was for the RAF to begin flying the 730 in 1965, perhaps a year before the SR-71 became operational. Alas, no 730s would ever leave the drawing board. In 1957 came the momentous British White Paper on Defense, which concluded that surface-to-air missiles had rendered high-altitude bombers obsolete (as would be proved by the downing of an American U-2 by a Soviet missile in 1960). Had history t...

Doug Ford’s Cries..... For Himself.

[image: Doug Ford April 22] Link *Don’t interpret my criticism of Mr Ford as a nod towards the NDP or the Liberals. All 3 parties are a disgrace. Politicians are useful idiots by and large. Mr Ford’s teary eyed act “seeming to choke back tears” was just more of the usual political theatrics. Of the kind we've seen from Canada's PM , Justin Trudeau, who is big on crying. Maybe Doug & Justin both get their crying advice from Chrystia Freeland? Because clearly the both of them are on the Chrystia bandwagon* *But, I digress...* *Who was Mr Ford really shedding tears for? Himself...

Then why would he trust the government to mind his money? “Man needs more to be reminded than to be instructed,” argued Samuel Johnson. A man knows his nose squats in the middle of his face. He looks right past it just the same. Today we remind men of the reason they initially chose gold and silver money - that is, why they initially selected sound money. Flat Earth Economics

Say you're trying to navigate around your neighbourhood and you want to keep the total distance travelled to minimum. Let's pretend you're not limited to roads, and can always travel in a straight line to any particular destination. You go 4 km to your first destination, and then turn 90 degrees to your left to go 3 km to the next destination, and then you can go home. By the Pythagorean Theorem, the straight-line distance to get home is the square root of (3 squared + 4 squared), or 5 km. That's the correct answer, or close enough for any practical purpose. In reality the wo...

“Hope is always about the future. And it isn’t always good news. Sometimes, hope can imprison us with belief or expectation that something will happen in the future to change our lives. Similarly hopelessness isn’t always about despair. Hopelessness can bring us right into this very moment and answer all of life’s most difficult questions. Who am I? Where am I? What does this mean? And what now?” - Daniel Gottlieb

It's Too Late For Justice
jurassicpork, Welcome Back to Pottersville - 5 hours ago
We need to remember this: George Floyd wasn't a sacrificial lamb or a martyr or a symbol, He was made into one through sociopathic neglect and disregard for his life. He was transformed into these things by a whole world that had demanded justice. He was, first and foremost, a loving father. It was far too late for justice. Justice would've required that George Floyd returned to his family. But it's never too late for accountability. And on Tuesday, we got it. But even accountability, with its stutter-step pace, is an erstwhile thing, a salve placed reluctantly on the b...
