What a great photograph!

Peter at Bayou Renaissance Man - 12 hours ago
I came across this photograph on Gab. It shows a stream of molten lava landing on a black sand beach, presumably in Hawaii, where volcanic eruptions continue. Click the image for a larger view. I'd love to know whether that was taken by a human photographer, or a drone. I presume the latter, because any human getting that close to a stream of molten lava is asking for trouble! However it was taken, though, that's a fascinating image. Kudos to whoever took it. Peter

Bret Stephens’ Neocon Vision

[image: undefined] The neoconservative vision of the world is a place where the United States can do what it wants because it is both better morally speaking and also more capable of enforcing desirable standards of behavior. Such a viewpoint just might perhaps be understandable if Washington were actually willing to operate in a disinterested leadership capacity to promote standards that are generally accepted by the international community, somewhat similar to what the United Nations is supposed to do, but it becomes repugnant when there is no sense that the US is actually willing... more »

Art Milholland (Maryland) gave me this film to watch some time ago. I watched it and was blown away. It's a brilliant film and a courageous one at that. Come to find out animal agriculture is the biggest polluter on our Mother Earth. Even more than fossil fuel use. The filmmaker goes around and tries to get major environmental groups to acknowledge this point but they consistently refuse. Why? In the end how we eat has more to do with 'saving the Earth' than anything else. We all have the power to change. Thanks Art for the education and your persistence. Bruce

China's rather weak-kneed response: Tariffs of 5 to 10 percent on $60 billion worth of American imports. That's not nothing. But it's also not super-impressive compared to Trump's escalation.
