All the CO2 being released into the atmosphere by human activities came from the atmosphere in the first place. Much of the CO2 from fossil fuel burning comes from carbon which was sunk at a time in earth’s past when atmospheric CO2 was much higher and plant and animal life thrived.
Glikson may be good at doing calculations to add up how much carbon humans have put in the atmosphere, but he has bugger all ability to accurately calculate natural carbon emissions or natural carbon sinks.
Glikson has found only one ‘suspect’ for climate change and he’s trying to make the evidence fit without having enough knowledge of negative feedback mechanisms and/or many other climate drivers. People like Glikson should not be left alone to write such one dimensional scripts.

Climate sensitivity to the lower stratospheric ozone variations

The strong sensitivity of the Earth's radiation balance to variations in the lower stratospheric ozone—reported previously—is analysed here by the use of non-linear statistical methods. Our non-linear model of the land air temperature (T)—driven by the measured Arosa total ozone (TOZ)—explains 75% of total variability of Earth's T variations during the period 1926–2011.

Low energy galactic cosmic rays in the heliosphere

The flux of galactic cosmic rays (GCR) extends over a wide range of energies (from 108 to 1020 eV); it has a strong dependence on particle energy. Given the large span of energies the detection techniques, transport mechanisms and other characteristics vary as energy increases. In the low energy region (<1012 eV) the flux of GCR is modulated by the solar activity. Continuous registers are necessary to study intensity variations that must have their origin in the Sun. Detectors were designed and constructed for the purpose, they operate since the middle of the last century providing valuable information to study recurrent periodicities and their relationship to those of solar phenomena, but also to elucidate whose are the relevant transport mechanisms inside the heliosphere.

New Developments on Federal Unemployment Extensions
(Updated May 15, 2012)  California

The week ending May 12, 2012, will be the last week EDD can pay FED-ED benefits to eligible unemployed workers, even if someone has a remaining balance on their FED-ED extension. The EDD estimates about 93,000 people in California will be immediately impacted, including those collecting FED-ED benefits now and those who could qualify to file a new FED-ED extension up through May 6, 2012.

Education in the Digital Age: Are We Falling Behind National History Day Documentary

Learning World Episode 12 : Making Education a family matter

Dec 13, 2010

This week in Learning World we visit schools in South Korea, Spain and Japan to examine the vital role families play in their child's learning process.
In South Korea, a highly competitive society, some families are obsessed with success. For fear of their children falling behind in school they send them to evening private lessons.
Up to 80 percent of children in South Korea go straight from their primary schools to private evening schools called Hagwons where they do extra classes in maths, English and Korean.
The reason is that South Korea is an intensely competitive society and parents feel that if they do not send their children to extra classes, they might fall behind at school.
