President Trump, in an effort to actually solve a problem, did what any great leader would do, he did a case study. He looked for examples of successful fire and forest management. He found one in Finland. How does Finland manage their forests? Exactly like conservatives have been advising for decades. Thin out the forest … Continue reading "Progressives Fiddle While California Burns"

Ford Is A Gift --To Trudeau

Owen Gray at Northern Reflections - 15 hours ago
Many of us in Ontario feel nothing but contempt -- visceral contempt -- for Doug Ford. But Tom Walkom writes that, for Justin Trudeau, Ford is a gift that will keep on giving: The Liberals’ real not-so-secret weapon is Doug Ford. In the morality play that is Canadian politics, the Ontario Conservative premier can easily be portrayed by left-liberals as a black-hatted villain. He is big, brash and unapologetic. In 2015, the Liberals successfully typecast then Conservative leader Stephen Harper as a malevolent genius — a kind of Lex Luthor to Trudeau’s Clark Kent. They are having ... more »

Forget China's J-20 Stealth Fighter: The J-10 Is One Tough Jet

David Axe at Test Feed Using Fields - 15 hours ago
*David Axe* *Security, Asia* Much like the U.S. Air Force with its mix of stealthy and non-stealthy fighters, the Chinese air force is developing a two-tier fighter fleet. Alongside a handful of radar-evading J-20s, Beijing is acquiring hundreds of more-conventional J-10s. While observers focus their attention on China's new J-20 stealth fighter, the Chinese air force steadily is improving and building more copies of an only slightly less sophisticated fighter: the J-10. Much like the U.S. Air Force with its mix of stealthy and non-stealthy fighters, the Chinese air force is dev... more »

Here are a few samples of the absurd in practice. Western nations spend billions on public schooling for all, urged along by the public cry for Excellence. How to be grateful, even when times are tough. . .

Although I know to whom gratitude is directed, and that it shouldn’t be me or a fitness coach, I thought this e-mail from “Coach Tyler” had merit because it reminds us that setbacks are often a push forward. He writes about three setbacks—a car accident, a job loss, and injuries that could have ended his successful private training business created after overcoming the first two: I promise if you read this whole email, you’l... more »

It's time for Nancy Pelosi to go. We need someone else to lead the Democratic Party in Congress. She's part of a status quo-- like Hillary-- that voters are not happy about. IT IS TIME FOR HER TO MOVE ON and make way for someone who comes from a different, more up-to-date personal and political context. Pelosi's priorities are no longer in synch with the priorities of the Democratic base. But that does *not* mean throwing her out and replacing her with a cabal of Wall Street and Big PhRMA-backed corporate shills. God forbid! And the Seth Moulton #5WhiteGuys coup is exactly that. ... more »
