They never will

sue at Is the BBC biased? - 12 hours ago
The BBC is still dutifully addressing the Labour Party’s antisemitism problem. Not exactly *addressing.* It seems more accurate to say they’re paying lip service to addressing it. They’d like to get to the bottom of it, or they’d like you to t*hink* they’d like to get to the bottom of it. They never will though. Not while they’re still broadcasting such biased reporting about Israel from the likes of Jon Donnison and Paul Adams. I think Jon Donnison’s addiction to ‘the people of Gaza’ is unhealthy. Kind of obsessive-compulsive. At first, I thought he had been banished by the BBC b... more »

Some oil is also being truckedfrom Kirkuk to Iran, but that is being done in a semi-formal capacity, and is not being counted by the Oil Ministry. Exports continuously fluctuate due to weather, maintenance, etc. In 2018, the ... more »

Silence on US Meddling Abroad

Miscellaneous material to start your week. - Brian Nolan examines the relationship between inequality and median incomes in developed countries, and concludes that there's little basis to view inequality as an inevitable outcome of international forces: Globalisation and technological change are often portrayed as exogenous forces sweeping across the rich countries, inexorably driving up inequality and forcing workers to accept wage stagnation (and often less security) if they are to hold on to their jobs. Instead, the variation in country experiences shows how much institutions and... more »

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is part of the World Health Organisation, which is part of the United Nations, but it is really its own agency that shares little in common with WHO. Whereas WHO wants to save lives, IARC has taken to using statistics to scaremonger trace chemicals by conflating hazard and risk. So if high doses, 10,000 exposures of a chemical all at once, might be linked to cancer by looking at statistics, their flawed methodology, where five orders of magnitude are considered equal, will cause them to declare even 1 exposure a hazard. Michael Harris writes that there is a volcano set to explode in the United States. And journalists are in the path of the lava flow. The latest warning of what is about to come came last week: Watching CNN reporter Jim Acosta the other day was a harbinger of what might lie ahead. The usually suave chief White House correspondent for the cable news channel lost his cool in a public exchange with President Trump’s press secretary. Acosta reached the end of his rope when Sarah Sanders refused to say in an open press conference that the media was not the “enemy of the people” — the c... more »

The events took place during the mid 70's in Manitoba and also North Dakota essentially centered on the only nuclear ABM base that operated for a short time contemporaneously. The traffic was always at night and tracked similar paths allowing locals to set up viewing posts to optimize observations. As this carried on for two years until the Minot base was shut down, it allowed us to produce a large body of eyeball reports of not just Charlie Red Star but other craft as well. How THC Kills Cancer

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
The news just keeps getting better. THC in heavy doses destroys cancer cells directly without attacking the surrounding tissue. What is impressive is that extreme high doses can be tolerated. All of a sudden we can confront a tumor with a concentrated toxin that is not toxic to anything else. None of this will attack the immune system as well. Thus we have a workable compliment to surgical procedures as well. It is early days but all forms of experimentation is obviously practical. How about excising the tumor without cutting into surrounding flesh and the packing the w... more »

The extraordinary idea here is that the process of cell recycling is slowing but after the related creation of the tools. Thus improving tool function will restore general cellular health and counter aging. That certainly put superb nutrition front and center in any strategy to slow aging. *by Noah* I thought Republicans were all for the death penalty for things like kidnapping. As of this writing, hundreds of children are still "separated from their parent." How's that for a euphemism for kidnapping? Court-ordered deadlines have come and court-orderd deadlines have gone. Our burgeoning totalitarian government has even stated that they simply will not be returning at least 600 children. This has become a twisted and very Trumpian (read Republican) example of that old possession is 9/10ths of the law thing. Since the beginning of Trump's "Steal The Children Initiati... more »

America’s About To Unleash Its NOPEC Superweapon Against The Russians & Saudis

If looked at as the opening salvo of a global energy war being waged in parallel with the trade one as opposed to being dismissed as the populist piece of legislation that it’s being portrayed as by the media, NOPEC can be seen as the strategic superweapon that it actually is, with its ultimate effectiveness being dependent of course on whether it’s properly wielded by American decision makers. The Atomic Bomb Strike on Hiroshima & Nagasaki: Did Truman Make a Mistake?

*Warfare History Network* *Security, Asia* The most controversial decision of the 20th century—probably in all of history—was the one reportedly made by President Harry S. "A Perpetual Illusion..."

"Human life is thus only a perpetual illusion; men deceive and flatter each other. No one speaks of us in our presence as he does of us in our absence. Human society is founded on mutual deceit; few friendships would endure if each knew what his friend said of him in his absence, although he then spoke in sincerity and without passion. Man is then only disguise, falsehood, and hypocrisy, both in himself and in regard to others. He does not wish any one to tell him the truth; he avoids telling it to others, and all these dispositions, so removed from justice and reason, have a natura... more »

No Choice: Why Harry Truman Dropped the Atomic Bomb on Japan

Tom Nichols at Test Feed Using Fields - 1 day ago
*Tom Nichols* *Security, * Critics of the decision to use the “special bomb” in 1945 are judging men born in the 19th century by the standards of the 21st. Nuclear arms are hideous, immoral weapons whose existence continues to threaten our civilization. To say, however, that Harry Truman should have sacrificed hundreds of thousands of American lives because of what happened in the nuclear arms race decades later is not only ahistorical, it is moral arrogance enabled from the safe distance provided by time and victory. Every summer, as the anniversaries of the U.S. nuclear strikes... more »
