Monsanto-Linked University Research Paper Claims Russia is Promoting Anti-GMO Articles in “Asymmetrical War” Against U.S. Agriculture

Nick Meyer at AltHealthWorks.com - 37 minutes ago
One of the most difficult challenges in breaking Monsanto and the GMO industry’s icy grip on the U.S. agricultural sector is untangling the roots of how this vast agrochemical behemoth actually operates. If Monsanto merges with Bayer as anticipated, the newly formed company is expected to control more than a quarter of the world’s seeds and pesticides market, but nobody is bothering to ask whether the two agrochemical giants are the ones we really want calling the shots. A souped-up, big money PR department combines with millions of dollars in university donations and the company... more »

*National Catholic Reporter:* *Vatican: Claim that pope denied hell's existence is unreliable* Vatican City — The Vatican said comments attributed to Pope Francis denying the existence of hell are a product of an Italian journalist's "reconstruction" of the pope's remarks and not a faithful transcript of the pope's real words. Why Can't Trumpanzee Find A Decent Lawyer?

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 1 hour ago
A friend of mine, a top-notch, national prominent attorney, once had a law partner who had, earlier in his life, represented a particularly troublesome client, someone who has lately risen in life from a two-bit crooked real estate developer to occupant of the Oval Office. Yes, Señor Trumpanzee. He told my friend that representing him was the worst thing, professionally, he had ever done. Aside from having a problem with collecting his fees, there was something even worse. They would be driving to court in the morning and the lawyer would say to Señor T, "Whatever you do, do *not*... more »

Sometimes I act as though I'm heading somewhere else while, imperceptibly, I narrow the gap between you and me. I'm not sure I'll ever know the right way, but I don't mind getting lost now and then. The Huffington Post's Ryan Reilly reports that a group of men accused of plotting to murder Somali refugees in Kansas are using the Fox News defense: Curtis Allen, Patrick Stein and Gavin Wright are on trial in connection with their arrest in a FBI domestic terrorism sting just weeks before the 2016 election. Their defense attorneys, in turn, are putting the FBI on trial ― accusing the nation’s premier law enforcement agency of improperly targeting the three men due to their conservative ideology.... In opening arguments before a nearly all-white jury, defense attorneys argued that ... more »

*THURSDAY, MARCH 29, 2018Interviews voters in Zona:* The headline grabbed our attention. There it was, in this morning's hard-copy New York Times. The headline went exactly like this: *In Arizona, Voters Doubt Credibility Of Porn Star* Interesting! Since every known American pundit has sworn that Clifford is even more truthful than Comey once was, we decided to see what those nay-saying voters had said. We encountered some Standard Times Work. Julie Turkewitz penned the report. Below, you see the fill list of voters she quotes: *Full roster of quoted voters:* Sandi Caskey, 78,... more »

Non-Interventionism: America's Original Foreign Policy

Daniel McAdams at Peace and Prosperity - 10 hours ago
We are facing a presidential "war cabinet" more aggressive than any in history. John Bolton, "Mad Dog" Mattis, Mike Pompeo, Nikki Haley, "Bloody" Gina Haspel, and more. If we are not able to turn this ship around and return to a non-interventionist foreign policy, we may soon find that there is nothing left to preserve or conserve. What is one of the single most important and most effective ways of challenging the warfare state and its seeming monopoly over the mainstream media? It's actually quite easy: we can get together, discuss, join forces, listen to speakers, network. As Jaco... more »

Strange Things Happen to European Countries Resisting George Soros’ Assault

Alex Gorka at Peace and Prosperity - 10 hours ago
[image: undefined] Strange things happen in East and Central Europe that get little mention from media outlets. Two heads of state, the prime ministers of Slovenia and Slovakia, resigned almost simultaneously. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was a victim of the scandal over the murder of Jan Kuciak, a journalist who was investigating government corruption. The PM had to step down amid mass street protests. Mr. Fico was known for his support of a stronger Visegrad Group. He opposed Brussels on many issues. It’s worth noting that he called for lifting sanctions and improving rela... more »

A Bad Foundation will Lead to More Spending and More Militarism

[image: undefined] A $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill. More military spending than any time in history. How did things get to this point? Even some of the most loyal supporters of President Trump have expressed both frustration and dismay that he signed an omnibus spending bill larger than all but one signed by former President Obama. Angry opposition has come from the likes of Laura Ingraham, Amy Kremer, and Ann Coulter. But not everyone is upset. Matt House, communications director for Sen. Chuck Schumer, said on Twitter that he’s “tired of all the winning.” Schumer himself wa... more »

The BBC's antisemitism problem

Not a sheep at Not a sheep - 10 hours ago
The recent 'discovery' by many of the media that the Labour Party has an anti-Semitism problem has been amusing to those of us who've been pointing this out for some time. Some of the best coverage of this issue has been on the isthebbcbiased blog, by both Craig and Sue. This piece by Sue http://isthebbcbiased.blogspot.co.uk/2018/03/the-bbcs-antisemitism-problem.html is well worth a read in full. Here's a key part that explains why the BBC has a similar problem to that of the Labour Party, something that I've also been pointing out for a long time now: 'As the BBC has been demon... more »

Wild Horses and Burros Get a Reprieve From Slaughter

Animal advocates are applauding Congress for protecting wild horses and burros from roundups and slaughter with the 2018 spending bill, marking a major victory in the ongoing battle to protect them on public lands. Despite protection under the Wild Free-Roaming Horse and Burro Act, which was enacted in 1971 to protect wild horses from “capture, branding, harassment, or death,” the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has continued to remove and warehouse thousands upon thousands of wild horses at the expense of taxpayers – a vast majority of who strongly oppose the agency’s incredibly cr... more »

'Allegedly anti-Semitic'?

This BBC report on Jeremy Corbyn's supportive comment about the mural http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43535710 contains this line: 'The comments came after Mr Corbyn was criticised for sending an apparently supportive message to the creator of an allegedly anti-Semitic mural in 2012.' Allegedly anti-Semitic! Does anyone see how that mural could be anything but anti-Semitic? The BBC that's who, for whom acceptable anti-Zionism is but a short journey to accepting anti-Semitism.
