Across the nation and around the world, anthropologists are scurrying to acquire hard-copy editions of the paper, in which Rucker and his tribal elders behave in ways these scholars are calling unprecedented. Iraq’s Northern Front Stalemate In Salahaddin

Joel Wing at MUSINGS ON IRAQ - 13 hours ago
Salahaddin was where the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) and militias stopped the insurgent’s surge south from Mosul. That was not before nearly half of the province fell to militants. Salahaddin became where the government drew the line because it contains the Askari shrine in Samarra, which is important not only for Baghdad, but the militias and Iran. Since that time the fight in the governorate has settled into a war of attrition, foreshadowing what the battle against the militants will be like in the entire country. If that means a cement slab condo for every family in 2030, then warehousing millions of tons of re-bar is plausible and easily financed with low interest money. Thus this massive build out may merely reflect future capital outlays and financing structures not sold... more »

Fractal Nanostructures used to Build new Supermaterials

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
This is a pretty good review piece of just were our current research is. Material science is advancing steadily into nano engineered materials capable of miraculous properties and ultimately cost effective manufacturing. What is described here is a natural one off process that will still have serious application. Rocket engines come to mind. Yet we are well on the way to producing my multilayered skin for my Magnetic Field Exclusion Vessel. *Fractal nanostructures used to build new supermaterials* *By Dario Borghino* *June 6, 2014* *http://www.gizmag.com/fractal-nanotruss-sup... more »

The Shamanic View of Mental Illness

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
Once we accept the reality of spirit as central to our own existence, it follows that we need to enter into a profound change of perspective. This item I just came across takes just that perspective to all forms of mental illness. Accepting Consciousness as the business of the Spirit and accepting Soul as the ideal of the Spirit and that all this acts on the physical to produce and manage our perceptions is completely contrary to our scientific ideas of the past centuries. I will now take this further. Our physical expression is a tool of our spirit/soul and can be understood a... more »

Edward Snowden's Unaired Remarks About September 11

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
The problem with all the data is not and curiously it never has been about the data ,but the outright lack of imagination within the intel community. It is actually proving to be easy enough to identify potential threats. In all cases cited, the perps had been identified long before any action. It is asking way too much to set up a action plan for identified potential threats. One stage is a go to contact for simply allowing the eyeballs to send key actionable data, however weak it might be. That removes the responsibility immediately from the first observer who could be anyone. ... more »

N.S.A. Collecting Millions of Faces

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
Yes, it is coming. What a natural self testing system. As recognition software improves, it identifies faces on the internet a an ongoing project. Success is achieved once all images are correctly identified. At the very least all forms of impersonation fraud becomes impossible and you will not be able to hide from your government at all. I am not so sure that I am particularly bothered by this development. There will be approved cut outs and we will simply learn to operate inside appropriate bounds. We do anyway. What is lost is freedom to abuse process. The reward though is s... more »

An Index of Misery Measures China’s Runaway Housing Prices

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
The game goes on. In order to earn rent on cash, it is necessary to lend on real estate which is easily identifiable and easily evaluated to a wage earning family. Or some version thereof. It is not really that good a system and it produces its own distortions. The worst part of it is that it encourages urban price inflation allowing the lender to lend a lot more money with no real effect of growth. The problem lies directly in governmental regulation. Agents of the current regime have bought into this regime blindly without looking much past their natural self interest. Until th... more »

Scientists Discover an Ocean 400 miles Deep?

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
So far this is a nice theory and it obviously makes a great story. Otherwise it happens to be impossible to collect a sample that does not have likely controversial genesis. We do have grain captured in diamond. Thus we know that it is possible for a mineral type to absorb water essentially where it was completely unexpected. This inability to actually sample at depth except to some degree by proxy makes this type of speculation very questionable. The depths described here are completely explored by inference from seismic waves and perhaps from spectral emissions. Getting ground... more »

The Final Confrontation

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
This item speaks to something that we all need to pay attention to. Fundamental ideas regarding man and man's relation to God now have global reach and are been informed by fresh revelation and organizing ideas. What Karol Wojtyla does for us here is clearly spell out the most general intellectual framework to approach this developing challenge. There is the Church holding out the ideal and promoting its attainment as our human birthright against secular, religious and ideological opposition that succumbs easily to following an anti Church sophistry. Because these currents have... more »

Protein Products and Heavy Metal Contamination

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
For those who do not know, Natural News has woken everyone regarding unusual heavy metal content in a wide range of commercial protein sources and this has now led to far more careful formulations and blow back against those unable to comply. I suspect that a lot of the metal content represents no real threat whatsoever, however that only means that it is possible for a specific problem to pass through the filter. Thus this testing tells us were to look and watch. China’s smokestacks continue to bite. These are the same smokestacks that the USA and Europe shipped to China to ... more »

I had been ignoring these stories because I felt that the likely had natural causes. Instead we have this which is a bizarre travesty. What are they thinking? They will always go away on their own. Then we get their reasoning and it is essentially rationalizing the activities of a far too enthusiastic death squad. Yes, it does become necessary to carefully cull specific populations. By that I do mean deer herds, wild pig herds whose growth conflict directly with farming and promote a larger carnivore population which is hardly wise. These culls also need to be directly trad... more »

Moving Into the Sacred World of DMT with Nick Sand

This article is important in that it spells out and shapes plausible protocols for using DMT which is the critical ingredient in the safe psychedelics like Ayahausca. We learn to understand the central importance of setting and by natural inference intention. Can you imagine been insane enough to do this as part of some trumped up satanic ritual? TEMPEST dream - 1950's facial torture - I get no kick from Novocaine

Mike Philbin at Mike Philbin's free planet blog - 22 hours ago
over the past several days, the visually intense dreams have started again, vivid dreams, memorable dreams. It all started a few days ago when a being of very intense points of light came for a visit. The points of light were primary colours, like the colours in the original Tempest game. Tempest looked just like that graphic there. But, in the next dream, an old games-industry boss tasked me to update Tempest as a totally realistic 3D-shooter. Kinda like playing Spiderman crawling up walls and such while the enemies approached along all domestic surfaces. Then (this morning) came ... more »

We've been writing about how the DSCC is missing their best opportunity of 2014 by not taking advantage of a peculiar situation in South Dakota where there are 3 Republicans on the November ballot against populist Democrat Rick Weiland. The Party Establishment has a garden variety corporate shill in the race, Mike Rounds, and he's the official party designee, but 2 very well-known Republicans, ex-U.S. Senator Larry Pressler, and state Senator Gordon Howie, both running as Independents, feel strongly that Rounds is unfit to represent the state in the U.S. Senate. Historical US Gold Reserves simply can't be consistent with the actual history of the closing the the London gold Pool in 1968 ( due to London and the US having a few months of gold left to meet French demands for gold ) and the closing of the US gold window in 1971 by President Nixon..... And as the historical data for US Gold Reserves do not indicate any measurable change in gold reserves since the early 1970's ( such as gold purchases to offset those massive deliveries of gold in the late 1960's ) , there simply cannot be physical gold in the US ( US Treasury or Federal Reserve ) that matches up with the so called official data..... *"Sonnets to Orpheus, Part One, IV"* "You who let yourselves feel: enter the breathing that is more than your own. Let it brush your cheeks as it divides and rejoins beside you. Blessed ones, whole ones, you where the heart begins: You are the bow that shoots the arrows and you are the target. Fear not the pain. Let its weight fall back into the earth; for heavy are the mountains, heavy the seas. The trees you planted in childhood have grown too heavy. You cannot bring them along. Give yourselves to the air, to what you cannot hold." - Rainer Maria Rilke

This “switch” enables us to compare and contrast what we hold to be true against the perceptions and opinions of others. This handy switch is essential. It promotes growth and awareness by opening doors to new ideas and possibilities while keeping us tethered to that familiar landing space we call self. I'm reading *Dark Age Ahead*, Jane Jacobs' 2004 strong caution to North American society. I'll blog about the book in general at a later date, but wanted to share some thoughts that keep coming up as I'm reading. This is the first time I'm reading Jacobs since living in a suburb, the kind of area Jacobs reviled, rather than living in a dense urban environment, the kind she revered. And now, when I read Jacobs' shorthand descriptions of suburbs, I wonder if she truly understood them. Two of the charges levelled against suburbs - and if you've read Jacobs or anyone influenced by her, ... more »

Louisiana teabagger Steve Scalise isn't the biggest win for the Ted Cruz wing of the GOP The reaction from ugly Republican racists to the embarrassing Tea Party losses in Oklahoma and Mississippi Tuesday-- two of the most brainwashed and extreme right-wing states in the U.S.-- was, to put it mildly, ungracious.
