Trash the vote

Libby Spencer at The Impolitic - 8 seconds ago
The GOP obviously can't win the election fair and square with their failed policies, so they do what they always do lie, cheat, and steal Democratic registration forms and throw them in the trash. This story broke last night and it just gets weirder as it develops. This guy was a supervisor of GOP registration drives in swing states. He got caught throwing only eight forms away and only five of those were of voters not yet registered with the state. It begins to feel like he deliberatively got caught in a serious, but essentially petty crime in order to minimize the extent of the f... more »

Gary Delong-- Global Warming Denier... In Southern California?

Thursday we looked at how hostile to Science-- the engine of all economic progress-- the Republicans in Congress are. And, of course, like most reactionary trains of thought, Global Warming deniers are dominant in the old slave-holding states of the Confederacy. But in Southern California? Gary Delong, the Republican nominee who beat mainstream Republican Steve Kuykendall in the primary, roiled the race for the 47th CD congressional seat (Long Beach, Cypress, Westminster and Garden Grove) by making a stunning claim that he sees no scientific evidence of Climate Change. Washington Times Judge Andrew Napalitano How many times have you heard the truism that in modern-day America the cover-up is often as troubling as the crime? That is becoming quite apparent in the case of the death of J. Christopher Stevens, the former U.S. ambassador to Libya. Stevens and three State Department employees were murdered in the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last month, on September 11th. About an hour before the murders, the ambassador, who usually resides in the U.S. embassy in Tripoli but was visiting local officials and staying at the consulate in Benghazi, ... more »

Unsurprisingly, the plan is to use reaction mass with fusion to produce thrust. Since continuous function is called for, it makes more sense to accelerate to turnover point and then decelerate to target orbit. In the meantime we have a lot of heavy hardware to play with that may teach us something. I am much more optimistic about the work been done at focus fusion. That technology will produce a direct current take off that will be much more flexible. At least many groups are now seriously addressing fusion energy and we are getting out of the stagnation mode brought on... more »

Hog Hunting Bigfoot

This is a eight year old report brought to my attention through Drinnon's Blog. It is far and away the best direct sighting I has seen. This is because the witness observed and answered key questions while sitting up in a hide scared for his life. As well he should be. Imagine sitting precariously in a tree while a lion does its business underneath. The hunting skill is apparent and very effective. Dropping down onto all fours like a gorilla in order to do its attack rush is completely new and almost impossible to defend against and certainly prevents a successful count... more »

Back in the immediate aftermath of harper's fraudulent majority win I arguedthat harper had no claim to legitimacy because he had eviscerated the whole concept of "responsible government" with his first controversial prorogation (the one that was called specifically to avoid an impending no-confidence vote).
