Pakistan is the child of British geo political ambitions. Britian has kept the same geo political interest what it had in 1750 in the central, south asia region. In WWI Britain took care of the gulf region by taking over Iraq and middle east.
In 1947 to safe guard the same interest they created and supported the state of Pakistan.
That same control is present in the current period due to presence of a client state - Pakistan. Without Pakistan they would not have the same access to all the areas in the region.

Cold War vs. Modern Day US Propaganda

With a little hate here and a little fear-mongering there, could the raging positions of mainstream pundits on certain issues be stemming from something a little deeper than mood swings?

The Pentagon has proven time and again its love of creating, chasing and trying to undermine what it calls enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as several other nations it deems rogue.
The United States is always involved in some kind of war of aggression. It rarely spends an entire year without invading some foreign country,” said editorial columnist Ted Rall.
The media is almost constantly right there to march in lockstep.
We have a military-industrial media complex today. Most of the media is zoned in ideologically into what the Government is saying,” said media critic and film maker Danny Schechter.
American media is saying as a matter of fact that Iran has a nuclear weapons program. The drums beaten for war in Washington are being echoed by our mainstream media,” said Steve Rendall, a senior analyst at FAIR. The LookImage by dragon762w via Flickr
The list of America’s antagonists keeps building up.
When you have an imperial press corps that does nothing but defend the state, defend the empire and try to advance its goals, any country that gets in its way is going to be seen as an adversary or as an enemy, so in the American media there are a lot of countries that are deemed at least suspicious, if not enemy-countries,” explained Rendall.
Meant to be a fourth independent branch of power and watchdog to the powers that be, the media is instead earning a nickname of “a ministry of propaganda” for the White House.

Statement from SOA Watch on the Day of Action of the Continental Campaign Against Foreign Military Bases in Latin America
As long as there are foreign military bases in our territory, we suffer the threat of war and violence that so negatively affects our people.
We categorically reject the justifications that are used to defend these foreign military bases in Latin America, such as the "War Against Drugs" and the "War Against Terrorism". Until now, these bases have been used to support military coups, to destabilize the process of change that is taking place in the region, and to support the economic interests of  global powers, especially that of the United States.
On the Day of the Declaration of Human Rights we remember the thousands of victims of war, the thousands of victims of military dictatorships and the companerxs who, in seeking a Latin America of peace, see their struggles increasingly criminalized by military, paramilitary, police, laws against the people. Also, as long as the United States spends billions of dollars on war, millions of people in the United States suffer from hunger and lack of adequate medical care.

Wikileaks: North Korea 'helps Burma with nuclear sites'

Burma may be building missile and nuclear sites in remote locations with support from North Korea, according to secret US cables released by Wikileaks.

There is nothing in the cables to confirm what Burma and North Korea may be up to

Alaska's untapped oil reserves estimate lowered by about 90 percent

Big oil numbers for Alaska A political and geographical map showing count...Image via Wikipedia

July 2002

The assessment came just in time for the leasing of NPRA land on June 3. It also follows on the heels of a heated energy debate this spring, when the Senate voted against opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to oil drilling. Congress is now in conference to draft a compromise energy bill. The Bush administration has been looking to expand exploration of domestic petroleum resources, particularly on Alaska’s North Slope. With the administration hoping to open an additional 9.4 million acres of the petroleum reserve to oil and gas leasing in 2004, the latest USGS results are sure to cause a stir on the Hill.

(  Oddly enough, scuttlebutt overheard in Fort McMurray years ago suggested a policy of understating domestic reserves in N Dakota and Beaufort Sea to keep on the pressure for action in the Middle East. Would oil mavens fake results to affect market price ? Just asking. )

Seems it's easier to criticize than to forgive. Easier to hate than to love. We're all guilty of letting emotions slant our words.

( I thought of a bit of snark reading that - thinking whipping up resentment against Islam and illegals was hardly learning to Live in Peace. Then I reflected on the headlines I put out. Is it more attractive to peace to expose the Lies of War? . Sad but necessary, I suspect.  )

A right royal Elder

At Poundbury and Newquay, two urban extensions in Dorset on Duchy land, the Prince reportedly strives to create sustainable communities that are safer and healthier for residents. Pedestrians take priority over cars, and communities are mixed-use with workplaces integrated with housing.

He converted his estate at Highgrove, Gloucestershire, into an organic farm which now sells more than 200 different sustainably produced products, from food to furniture.

In 2007 the Prince launched his May Day Network which encourages British businesses to take action on climate change. He has openly published the details of his own carbon footprint, as well as the targets set for reducing Royal household carbon emissions.

In 2008 the United Nations set up its Collaborative Initiative on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) in developing countries.

The Prince’s Rainforest Project. The project is directed by top flight professionals in forestry, economics and international finance and is backed up by a steering group of more than 140 prominent British and international companies plus some individual advisers of the calibre of Sir Nicholas Stern.

Your Toxic Tap Water

Dr. Paul Connett, Professor of Chemistry at St. Lawrence University in New York, gives a damning interview on the history of water fluoridation, the collusion of major industries to put certified toxic waste into your drinking water, and why government health authorities refuse to conduct scientific studies into the dangers of fluoridation. After watching this video, you will never look at tap water the same way again.
Connett describes how he initially thought people who opposed fluoridation were “a bunch of whackos,” before conducting his own research which found that sodium fluoride was a toxic substance that contributed to a wide array of health defects. Heavy industry is barred from dumping this toxic waste into the sea by international law, but being able to sell it enables them to remove its hazardous characteristic and it becomes a product.
