Not Every Trump Voter Is A Freeloader-- But The Most Economically Productive Areas All Voted Against Him

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 44 minutes ago
According to a Nov. 10th poll conducted by Pollfish, 23% of Trump supporters would have voted for Democratic hopeful, Bernie Sanders, based on his commitment to fight for the middle class and against large corporations. The same poll shows some regret already. 32% of Trump voters thought he wouldn't actually win and now 11% say if they had it to do over again, they wouldn't vote for him! When asked to describe the reason they chose to cast a vote for so flawed a candidate, "better of two evil," "America needs change" and "I voted against Hillary" were some of the most popular sent... more »

Erdogan pleads Guilty to Illegal Syrian Aggression: Is this a Plea Bargain with Russia????

Turkey To Assassinate Assad – World Prepares For World War 3

Sean Adl-Tabatabai at Your News Wire - 3 hours ago
Recep Tayyip Erdogan has authorised troops in Syria to assassinate President Bashar Assad, which experts have warned will spark a war between Turkey and Russia. “We entered [Syria] to end the rule of the tyrant al-Assad who terrorizes with state terror. [We didn’t enter] for any other reason,” Erdogan announced at the first Inter-Parliamentary Jerusalem Platform Symposium in Istanbul. Russia has previously warned that any nation attempting to remove Assad will be met by the full force of the Russian military. With Turkey being a full member of NATO, the organisation is bound by A... more »

There would be some question in my mind about NATO being bound to aid Turkish aggression - though it might well choose to do so. Erdogan is not just being nuts. The Kurdish question caused No Fly Zones in Iraq before Desert Storm, the Kurds being a sizable population in Turkey as well as an quasi independent country these days. PKK terrorists/freedom fighters/insurrectionists fighting against empire for Kurdish independence have been a destabilizing force inside Turkey for decades...part of why Saddam Hussein was originally put in power in Iraq : to keep the peace by keeping the Kurds down.

Straining belief in coincidence

In one of the most chilling UFO-related incidents of the year, a series of ominous lights have been seen by numerous witnesses in Turkey Sunday night, fuelling fears that a possible extraterrestrial attack might soon be taking place. The mysterious objects, which were very similar in appearance to the famous Phoenix Lights incident back in 1997, have been sighted by witnesses all over the Middle Eastern country, resulting in the hashtag #ufoattacktoturkey immediately trending on Twitter. What was particularly disturbing, however, was the fact that Twitter immediately started removing photos and tweets related to the incident hours after the hashtag trended.
Despite the apparent Twitter censorship, however, the incident has captured the attention and interest of the whole world,

India’s currency chaos

Their sudden decision to demonetise 87% of the country’s currency (notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 all in people’s personal possession) is as historic a decision as it is destructive --- messing up the country’s financial system; denying wages to the millions of day labourers paid in cash; destroying the perishable stocks of farmers and vendors suddenly unable to sell fresh produce – not to mention that close to 50 deaths have been attributed to the sudden demonetisation. "Why Is There So Much Pain and Suffering?" By Fred Pauser "Mother Teresa said, “Suffering is a gift of God.” Well, it may be true that suffering tends to build character, but it also sometimes builds bitterness and criminals. In any case, we would naturally prefer to do without it, especially the extreme forms of it. We can derive much toward answering the question from a basic knowledge of the evolution of life. Ernst Mayr succinctly summed up the process of natural selection: “Natural selection is a two-step process: (1) variations produced, and (2) variations sorted, with the e... more »

More than any ruler I can think of, Fidel Castro defies our insistence on seeing leaders as solely either good or evil. Castro was an inspiration to freedom fighters the world over, including Nelson Mandela. Dilemma: If Pelosi Stays On As Democratic Leader, The Dems Will Never Take Back The House-- But Tim Ryan Is Even Worse

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 1 day ago
Pelosi's first DCCC chairman was Rahm Emanuel, certainly not someone with any seniority, just someone viewed as a tough guy. Ram's guiding philosophy-- that the House Democrats needed fewer progressives interested in policy and more Republican-lite corporate types happy to sit back and leave policy to the leadership-- appeared successful and it is the guiding philosophy to this day. But it was a huge long-term loser. Pelosi crowned him DCCC chair in 2005 and when the 2006 midterms came around, a midterm following the election of an increasingly unpopular George W. Trump: I’m Taking On Corrupt Big Pharma

President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to renegotiate the prices Medicare pays for drugs, arguing that Big Pharma companies have been “let off the hook” by policymakers for decades because Big Pharma has been lining their pockets. Trump says that on his watch drug prices paid by citizens will be driven down to fairer levels for consumers. “When it comes time to negotiate the cost of drugs, we are going to negotiate like crazy,” Mr. Trump said at a town-hall event in Exeter, New Hampshire. “The drug companies probably have the second or third most powerful lobby in this country. In plain speak, collateral damage in the air is so much less than on the ground, except for the Hindenburg effect, which seems to cripple Hydrogen even as we speak of the need to find alternative energy that is practical.
