The Double Life Of Fidel Castro

War News Updates Editor at War News Updates - 5 minutes ago
*New York Post:** Inside Fidel Castro’s life of luxury and ladies while country starved* With his shaggy beard and rumpled, olive-drab fatigues, Fidel Castro presented himself to the world as a modest man of the people. At times, he claimed he made just 900 pesos ($43) a month and lived in a “fisherman’s hut” somewhere on the beach. But Castro’s public image was a carefully crafted myth, more fiction than fact. “While his people suffered, Fidel Castro lived in comfort — keeping everything, including his eight children, his many mistresses, even his wife, a secret,” wrote Juan Rei... more »

Should The U.S. Threaten A Trade War With China Over North Korea?

War News Updates Editor at War News Updates - 5 minutes ago
*Gordon G. Chang, Forbes*:* To Disarm North Korea, Wage Trade War On China* Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the White House told the Trump transition team that North Korea was, in the words of the paper, the “top national security priority” for the incoming administration. Virtually every American analyst agrees on what Trump should do to meet the No. 1 threat: drop his plans of confronting China on trade to obtain its assistance on “denuclearizing” the Kim regime. This line of thinking is not new and ignores 13 years of American foreign policy failure. In fact, it’s... more »

Pentagon No-Fly Zone Over Syria Prompts Russia War Fears

Sean Adl-Tabatabai at Your News Wire - 27 minutes ago
On November 15, Congress passed a resolution to impose a no-fly zone over Syria, which experts are warning will result in a U.S. war with Russia. House Resolution 5732, otherwise known as the “Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act,” means that America can now shoot down Russian warplanes operating in the region. Thefreehthoughtproject.com reports: Soon after the presidential election, key warmongers in Congress began formulating plans to make increased conflict a near certainty, complete with the kind of propaganda peddled before the Iraq attack. On the Correlation Between Lack of Freedom and Nihilistic Violence

Anoop Verma at For The New Intellectual - 3 hours ago
There exists a correlation between people’s sense of morality and reason, and the freedom that they enjoy in the country. When the government usurps the power to dictate what is moral, what is good economics, what is good culture, what is social justice, and how the nation’s wealth must be redistributed, then most people develop the mindset that it is not their job to think about such issues. As they begin to depend too much on the government, they loose the capability of applying their minds for taking a rational stand on social, political, economic, and moral problems. What’s all this about “privilege”?

Peter Cresswell at Not PC - 7 hours ago
[image: Privilege] One of the most recent anti-concepts to emerge from postmodern academia is that of “privilege.” You can “check your privilege” here against a list of possible experiences– to find that if you are a wealthy, able-bodied, first-world, cis-gendered, heterosexual, non-ginga, native-born white male you are certainly privileged, and probably a rapist. Probably as many as 90% of all Americans believe without questioning everything they hear from the so-called mainstream media, known by members of the 10% as “prestitutes” paid by the military/industrial/security complex to lie about the truth or be fired. Here I list a few passages taken from Paul Craig Roberts’ latest post, beginning with “Russian news services are under attack from the EU and Western presstitutes as purveyors of ‘fake news’.” “As George Orwell predicted, telling the truth is now regarded by Western 'democratic' governments as a hostile act.” And finally “Abiding by its Washington master’s orders, the EU actually passed a resolution against Russian media for not following Washington’s line.” Accordingly, “Russian President Putin said that the resolution is a ‘visible sign of degradation of Western society’s idea of democracy’.” Now the 90% may say “so what”. The answer is that (1) Russia doesn’t want another World War, having lost 20 million civilians and soldiers in the last one, (2) whether or not the US military/industrial complex knows it, Russia has vastly superior weapons, and (3) if Russia is ever forced into a nuclear war, those of us in the west will not survive (though many in Russia may survive due to superior anti-ballistic missiles). Recently, we had a Presidential election and against all bets, Trump was the winner. How did that happen? Well, many are convinced that the elections were rigged ...but by whom? It couldn't have been alleged Russian hacking because such a hack required people with access to every polling place in every State of the Union. Impossible! Personally, I think it was done by members of our own military, who knew that if Hillary had been elected she would have pressed to start a war with Russia, in which case we might all end up dead. Whereas, Trump had made it clear early on that he has no problem working out some kind of a detente with Vladimir Putin’s Russia. Apropos, if you should be thinking of leaving the 90% to join the 10%, please meet Putin here: http://impactglassman.blogspot.mx/2014/10/who-is-vladimir-putin-monster-if-thats.html7

The Govester I enjoyed Emily ('Lady Nugee') and Michael ('Gove') on the sofa at the end of *The Andrew Marr Show. *It was surprisingly agreeable. But during that chat, and the preceding formal interview with the Govester (as Boris used to call him), a thought crossed my mind (yes, just one!): Michael Gove was being polite and self-deprecating about the way that 'experts' quote (*"People in this country have had enough of expert... more »

Over $6 million worth of rare punk memorabilia was burned yesterday by Joe Corré because he didn’t want the valuable items to “end up on a banker’s wall.“ Corré, son of Vivian Westwood and Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren burned all of his rare collectibles — including items belonging to Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten — on the 40th anniversary of the release of “Anarchy in the U.K.” by the Sex Pistols. “Welcome, to the great punk rock swindle,” Corré says while standing on the barge in the River Thames in London with the items valued at $6 million. “A time when you can buy McDon... more »

Bye, bye Aaqil. Hello James.

Craig at Is the BBC biased? - 20 hours ago
Here's something I missed the other day. Aaqil Ahmed, who became the BBC's (first Muslim) Head of Religion and Ethics in 2009, is leaving the BBC. He sent out a tweet a couple of weeks ago, saying: He's not going to be directly replaced either. Instead, responsibility for BBC religious broadcasting will pass into the hands of... ...guess who?... Yes, James Purnell, the former New Labour cabinet minister recently promoted to BBC Head of Radio and Education - an appointment which brought accusations of empire-building *even before* this latest expansion of his role. Fake News Alert: CNN Finally Admits White Helmets Staged Fake Video

Land Destroyer at Land Destroyer - 20 hours ago
*November 27, 2016* (Tony Cartalucci - LD) - CNN, among many other establishment media platforms, has long promoted the US-European funded "Syrian Civil Defence" also known as the "White Helmets." Yet on November 25, they published an article titled, "Syria's White Helmets apologize for Mannequin Challenge video," in which they admit: *It's a familiar scene: Syria Civil Defence, also known as the "White Helmets," rushing to rescue a man covered in rubble, but unlike thousands of other videos from Aleppo, this one is staged.* CNN would continue by claiming: *The nearly one-minute... more »

*So, we see how this world limits one's dreams. Forces are always at work to put a damper on doers of good deeds and right actions. A few of darkness project their own weakness out upon the lands and reward those who portray or you could also say, betray there fellows. If one appears to be strong or wise, he is discredited and made to look a fool. Every roadblock is put in the path of one who seeks to do good acts in your world and then, their failure is portrayed as due to their own weaknesses or inabilities. Eat excrement. - On Castro's death, remember Huber Matos, comrade in arms. Attacked Castro's ties to Moscow. Show trial. Was Hillary defeated by Kremlin-paid propaganda agents?

Luboš Motl at The Reference Frame - 22 hours ago
I used to consider The Washington Post as a daily that an average intelligent person could see as one of his information sources. But this picture was diminishing over the years and three days ago, it dropped hugely because of the article Russian propaganda effort helped spread ‘fake news’ during election, experts say In this most viewed article on WaPo's site on Friday, Craig Timberg teaches us that Donald Trump didn't win because of his personality, his program, his campaign strategy, preferences and values of a majority of the U.S. public, and their genuine dissatisfaction with ... more »

US Constitution Listed As ‘Russian Propaganda’ and ‘Fake News’

Sean Adl-Tabatabai at Your News Wire - 1 day ago
The mainstream media’s war on fake news has taken an unexpected turn as the U.S. Constitution has been labelled as “Russian propaganda” by their ‘fake news algorithm’. The Washington Post wrote an op-ed on Thursday detailing how Russia used websites run the U.S. to push anti-Hillary Clinton propaganda in order to ensure Trump won. Thegatewaypundit.com reports: The left is very focused on “fake news” websites after Hillary Clinton suffered a shocking loss in the November 8th election to Republican Donald Trump. The Washington Post used the obscure website Propaganda or Not as their... more »

Internet Privacy In UK Now ‘Worse Than China’

Sean Adl-Tabatabai at Your News Wire - 1 day ago
UK citizens have been stripped of their right to any online privacy, with a new law making the British public subject to 24/7 draconian surveillance that surpasses the restrictions placed on Chinese citizens. China can now boast that their citizens enjoy more privacy rights than users in the UK following the Snoopers’ Charter bill which was passed in Parliament last week. The new law introduces unprecedented surveillance and hacking powers, awarded to a large list of government agencies. Dailymail.co.uk reports: Chris Yui, who works in Edinburgh as a general manager at Uber, wrote... more »

Sean Adl-Tabatabai at Your News Wire - 1 day ago
CNN has been caught red-handed feeding fake news into the public arena in order to trick independent news outlets into publishing it. The false report about CNN airing porn for 30 minutes on Thanksgiving day went viral on social media on Friday, with other major mainstream media outlets running the story without doing any fact checking. CNN have since admitted that they helped perpetuate the story in order to trick alternative media into republishing it so that they could then accuse them of publishing ‘fake news’. R.I.P., Fidel Castro-- A Giant Among Puny Leaders

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 1 day ago
*Not establishment guys* Last night, just as I was going to bed, I learned that Fidel Castro, age 90, had died. I remember how excited I was, as a small child learning how he had freed his country from the fascist grasp of the U.S.-backed dictator. I wanted to dedicate my bar mitzvah to him but my mother had the rabbi talk me out of it. In later years, like many of his earliest admirers, I was aghast at some of the decisions he made that took him down from the perch I had constructed in my mind for him. He turned out to be nearly as bad as other political leaders, reminding me at th... more »

Is Trumpy-The-Clown Going To Drain The Wall Street Swamp? You're Joking, Right?

Perhaps you were angry that Obama's Justice Department never went after Wall Street elites. I sure was. Last year David Sirota did a powerful piece for *International Business Times* about how prosecution for white collar crimes was at a 20-year low-- although not because there was less of that kind of crime. While Bernie was getting standing ovations for demanding more Wall Street prosecutions-- with Hillary and even Trump pretending to go along with the sentiment-- prosecutions were down 12% for 2015 from 2014 and down 29% in five years. Underscoring the assertion that it wasn't ... more »

"The Song of Amergin" by Chet Raymo "It is commonly called "The Song of Amergin," and it is reputed to be the first poem composed in Ireland, by one of the "Milesian princes" who colonized the island several hundred years before the birth of Christ. "I am the wind on the sea. I am the ocean wave. I am the sound of the billows. I am the seven-horned stag. I am the hawk on the cliff. I am the dewdrop in sunlight. I am the fairest of flowers.
