It was filmed during a recent test of the new Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk off the Faroe Islands, between Norway and Iceland. Dilemma: If Pelosi Stays On As Democratic Leader, The Dems Will Never Take Back The House-- But Tim Ryan Is Even Worse
Pelosi's first DCCC chairman was Rahm Emanuel, certainly not someone with any seniority, just someone viewed as a tough guy. Ram's guiding philosophy-- that the House Democrats needed fewer progressives interested in policy and more Republican-lite corporate types happy to sit back and leave policy to the leadership-- appeared successful and it is the guiding philosophy to this day. But it was a huge long-term loser. Pelosi crowned him DCCC chair in 2005 and when the 2006 midterms came around, a midterm following the election of an increasingly unpopular George W. Bush, the Democr... more »

Trump: I’m Taking On Corrupt Big Pharma
President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to renegotiate the prices Medicare pays for drugs, arguing that Big Pharma companies have been “let off the hook” by policymakers for decades because Big Pharma has been lining their pockets. Trump says that on his watch drug prices paid by citizens will be driven down to fairer levels for consumers. “When it comes time to negotiate the cost of drugs, we are going to negotiate like crazy,” Mr. Trump said at a town-hall event in Exeter, New Hampshire. “The drug companies probably have the second or third most powerful lobby in this country. 1981 Prophesy Predicts ‘End Of USA’ Following Castro’s Death
A 1981 prophesy being circulated predicts the complete and utter economic collapse of the United States following the death of Fidel Castro. The chilling prophecy was made by Christian prophet John W Johnston who also accurately predicted the fall of the Berlin Wall, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the rise of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Four of the five major events named in an incredible 1981 prophecy have already happened in consecutive order, and the only thing remaining to be fulfilled is “the collapse of the economic system of the United States.” According to Jo... more »

Which Campaign Promises Will Trump Keep?
Many Trump voters have 2-digit IQs and lack the ability to think abstractly. That's the way it goes. But plenty of Trump voters were as intelligent, more or less, as anyone else. As they cast their ballots for him (and, in some cases, against Hillary) they knew Trump is a predator, pillager and plunderer. They are so consumed with hatred for the establishment that when they voted for him, they didn't imagine they and their families might be the victims of his and his cronies' pillaging and plundering. The result for you is this: in old Blogger, when I opened up the page for my blog, unpublished comments were right there for me to moderate. Now when I open Blogger, I have to make additional clicks to get to the unpublished comments. This means I might forget I should even be looking for comments. Despite cashing all the chips on the F35 a major collatrall damage blind spot revealed

Shooting down anything that moves. The Soviets and the Chinese are all up and the USA has nothing on the table. It seems that silo vision has no spending limit. In plain speak, collateral damage in the air is so much less than on the ground, except for the Hindenburg effect, which seems to cripple Hydrogen even as we speak of the need to find alternative energy that is practical.

Is There a Climate Science Consensus?
Is there any level on which a climate consensus can be said to exist? Only at the most obvious level, which is that everyone agrees that the climate changes. The realists know that the climate has always changed, drastically over millions of years of alternating Ice Ages and Warm Periods and within a narrower range over the warm last 12,000 years, with such periods as the Minoan Warm Period, the Roman Warming, the Medieval Warm Period, and the present warm period. Goff dreaming up new ways to pick your pocket
I can’t help thinking Phil Goof’s focus as mayor is somewhat the same as his predecessor’s: picking your pocket for more millions on his pet projects. Yesterday’s brainfart: dunning tourists while pledging to “peg” rate rises to only 2.5 percent a year. Len Brown pledged the same thing with rates–even the same number—and we saw how well that peg worked, didn’t we. Given the way rates and debt both exploded under Pants-Down’s round, any pledge to “keep rate increases below inflation” now is like a strangler promising only to suffocate you more slowly. And that’s even if the pol... more »
Ayn Rand predicted an American slide toward fascism
*Are fascism and socialism opposites? No, observed Ayn Rand, in practice they “are only superficial variations of the same monstrous theme,” with as little difference to those under their boot as there was between Castro and Batista. The West's War on Thailand's Next King
*November 29, 2016* (Tony Cartalucci - NEO) - The first fatal mistake Western observers make when attempting to describe Thailand's monarchy is comparing it to European, or worse yet, Arabian institutions. It is neither. With the passing of the universally revered King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the upcoming coronation of his successor, Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, Western observers are indulging deeply in this mistake once again - many doing so intentionally for politically-motivated reasons. There are now as many as seven professional football clubs embroiled in a growing child sex abuse scandal, with more than 20 former players alleging they were victims. Officials warn that the cur... more »
Iraq's Government Has Passed A Law Legalising Iranian-Backed Shia Militias
*Aljazeera:* *Iraq's parliament passes law legalising Shia militias* Iraqi Sunnis say law was proof of Shia "dictatorship" but Prime Minister Abadi says force will defend "all Iraqis". The Iraqi parliament has passed a bill recognising the Shia militia fighters, the Popular Mobilisation Forces, as a government entity operating alongside the military. The bill passed on Saturday will see the establishment of the Popular Mobilisation Forces Commission, which critics said could only widen sectarian divisions in the war-torn country. Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi welcomed the legis... more »
Brexit: Legal battle over UK's single market membership -per BBC News
As this BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38126899 explores, the Remoaners are at it again. Are there any lengths that they won't go to to stop the democratic result of the EU referendum? 'Conservative MP and Brexiteer Dominic Raab said: "Rather than coming up with new legal wheezes to try and frustrate the will of the people, these lawyers should be working with us to make a success of Brexit." The public have spoken; we should respect the result and get on with it, not try to find new hurdles that undermine the democratic process."'

*UK: We need teachers, not preachers* *Brexit-bashing teachers want to turn education into re-education* The idea of education as a form of indoctrination is often seen as a thing of the past, something belonging to the old Communist and Nazi regimes. But the blurring of the line between education and the promotion of certain ideas is still a feature of modern, liberal-dominated education. In a recent article, published by TES, Mike Stuchbery, a school teacher, argues that UK schools have been ‘battered’ by the ‘twin tsunamis of Brexit and Donald Trump’. *Arctic warming claim: An amusing combination of alarm and uncertainty* *The article below starts out by making a big deal out of the fact that: "Temperatures in the Arctic are currently about 20C above what would be expected". Which is roughly true as far as it goes. But like all Green/Left reporting, the important bits are what is left out. SEPP tells us what is left out:"The current warmth in the Artic provides material for alarmists to predict drastic climate change. Andrew Breitbart Warned Us About Podesta Pedo Links In 2011
Andrew Breitbart warned us in a series of tweets in 2011 that John Podesta had links to underage sex slavery and pedophilia. In 2010, years before WikiLeaks emails exposed John Podesta’s dubious activities, Andrew Breitbart recognized Clinton’s campaign manager as one of the biggest, most corrupt figures in Washington, D.C. Three papers on information in quantum gravity
I want to briefly mention three recent papers on the fate of the information in quantum gravity. First, a week ago, Raphael Bousso argued that there is a simple Universal Limit on Communication. When you are sending the information by photons, one photon of frequency \(\omega\) must occupy the time at least \(\Delta t \sim 1/ \omega\) and transmits \(\O(1)\) nats (or bits) of information, e.g. a bit from the polarization of the photon. The energy of the photon is \(E=\hbar\omega\). You might think that the number of bits per photon may be increased arbitrarily because the informati... more »

Unredeemable – Jealousy, The Main Reason For The New Anti-Semitism
YNET – Op-ed: It’s neither Israel’s stand towards terror, nor the fact that it won’t give up all lands claimed by the Palestinians. Donald Trump is in second place with 13%, Julian Assange has 3% and Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both have less than 1%. North Pole an Insane 36 Degrees Warmer Than Normal as Region Hits Record Low Sea Ice Extent
What is happening is that the sea ice has not yet been able to significantly recover thanks to a weather oddity. The real cold air is sitting over in Siberia while the open ocean picked up additional heat thanks to an early clearing in the spring. Thus we are over a month or two late on the actual ice freeze. This then coincides with the spring retreat in the Antarctic sea ice and we get this wonderful graph. You could really convince yourself that something has gone seriously wrong. Why the press has not run with it yet escapes me. What is really true is that we are having... more »

The Accidental Genius of the Electoral College
What we all need to appreciate is that every voting system is a game and will be gamed. The challenge is to allow maximum flexibility and to learn to live with the implied oddities. The pure parliamentary system using pure first past the post is what i am familiar with. Again we hear crys for proportional voting in the belief this will provide a superior outcome when it clearly does not anywhere it has been used. Wonderfully the parliamentary system by collapsing the executive branch in with the electors allows for an abrupt change in government when necessary. What is mis... more »

Swiss voters chose to keep nuclear power plants
I generally think that frequent referendums aren't a good way to organize societies – or at least nations such as mine – because I do think that detailed decisions should be made by selected people with special knowledge and skills and the median voter isn't one of them. That's why a competition between "potential experts" – politicians who fight against each other – which is judged by the median voter i.e. the representative democracy sounds like a more sophisticated scheme. On the other hand, I am repeatedly impressed by the results of the referendums in Switzerland and the politi... more »

Should The U.S. Threaten A Trade War With China Over North Korea?

Virtually every American analyst agrees on what Trump should do to meet the No. 1 threat: drop his plans of confronting China on trade to obtain its assistance on “denuclearizing” the Kim regime. On the Correlation Between Lack of Freedom and Nihilistic Violence
There exists a correlation between people’s sense of morality and reason, and the freedom that they enjoy in the country. When the government usurps the power to dictate what is moral, what is good economics, what is good culture, what is social justice, and how the nation’s wealth must be redistributed, then most people develop the mindset that it is not their job to think about such issues. As they begin to depend too much on the government, they loose the capability of applying their minds for taking a rational stand on social, political, economic, and moral problems. People wi... more »
