The Great Not Roswell Slides Coding Fiasco

KRandle at A Different Perspective - 7 minutes ago
Given our discussion about the date code on the Not Roswell Slides (which I sort of initiated), I did a little extra digging, though I’m not sure it was worth the effort, and discovered a few things. Tony Bragalia was the first to mention to me that the code on one of the slides proved that the film had been manufactured in 1947 (that is, a square and a triangle). Kodak had a list of codes for their film (see http://www.film-tech.com/ubb/f1/t011524.html). These were recycled every twenty years and we could discuss this at length but it is now irrelevant. Adam Dew had asked Bragalia... more »

*Simon Black, Sovereign Man*:* Barack Obama may have finally destroyed America’s #1 advantage* In July 1944, just weeks after the successful Allied invasion of Normandy, hundreds of delegates from around the world gathered in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire to determine the future of the global financial system. *“Dark Night of the Soul: Surrendering the Ego”* by Madisyn Taylor, The DailyOM "While we are in a dark night of the soul experience, hold steady knowing the light will appear once again. Whenever a word is overused, it is most likely being misused, and over time, it begins to lose its meaningfulness. For example, we often refer to a fleeting feeling of depression or a period of confusion, as a dark night of the soul, but neither of these things qualifies as such. A dark night of the soul is a very specific experience that some people encounter on their spiritual journeys. There are... more »

"Looking at the people, listening to the breathing, heaving, laughing, struggling music of the slum, all around me, I remembered one of Khaderbhai's favorite phrases. “Every human heartbeat,” he'd said many times,” is a universe of possibilities.” And it seemed to me that I finally understood exactly what he'd meant. He'd been trying to tell me that every human will has the power to transform its fate. I'd always thought that fate was something unchangeable: fixed for every one of us at birth, and as constant as the circuit of the stars. But I suddenly realized that life is strange... more »

Paul Craig Roberts begins this all to true issue with this paragraph: "Acquaintances of my generation are puzzled by the disappearance of the American left. They remember when there was far less war, far less monopoly capitalist theft, a less rich and powerful elite, less police violence against civilians, less militarization, less privatization and deregulation, fewer attacks on the social safety net, less propaganda from the media, and yet, despite the milder state of affairs, the leftwing was present raising hell about it all." "Thomas Edison said in all seriousness: "There is no expedient to which a man will not resort to avoid the labor of thinking"- if we bother with facts at all, we hunt like bird dogs after the facts that bolster up what we already think- and ignore all the others! We want only the facts that justify our acts- the facts that fit in conveniently with our wishful thinking and justify our preconceived prejudices! Syria has slammed Turkey’s military incursion, backed by the US-led coalition, into Syrian territory saying that the offensive violates the country’s sovereignty. The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned and called for an end to Turkey’s military aggression adding that the operation was being carried out under the pretext of fighting terrorism. *Jeff Stein, Newsweek*: *Inside The Pentagon's 9/11 Nightmare* In our collective memory of 9/11, certain images predominate: Airliners slicing through a blue sky into the World Trade Center, people jumping from the uppermost floors and, of course, the immense buildings crumbling in a smoky heap of concrete, glass and steel with about 2,500 souls inside. In some of the most poignant images, rescue crews and medical teams wait vainly for survivors. In view of the fact that my whole understanding of star and planet formation is under serious review now that i have an alternative model of causation, explaining this is even more fraught with difficulty. It seems plausible for a hydrogen reservoir to build up internally and then discharge onto the surface producing variable results, yet not likely. America’s Overthrow by Enemies Within

My recent article exposes a brand new propaganda infomercial starring Angelina Jolie and 15 other high profile card-carrying members of the treasonous elitist “think tank” the Council on Foreign Relations. I outed its obvious attempt at an image makeover, upgrading its Mr. Burns-David Rockefeller image of wrinkled, old white men ruling the world to a new generation of bright young stars brilliantly working together to solve the planet’s most daunting challenges and problems facing humanity in the 21st century. Hillary Clinton was struggling so badly with a severe head injury in 2012 that her State Department staff took it upon themselves to reach out to the NFL Commisioner to request expert help. Hillary Clinton thanked her adviser, Phillipe Reines, and added, “Having a cracked head is no fun at all.” Hillary first fell ill with a stomach virus, then reportedly suffered a fall and a concussion and was then hospitalized for a blood clot near her brain. Evidence of cardiovascular benefits of LCHF diets, despite no change or increase in LDL, from drug trials

George Henderson at The High-fat Hep C Diet - 1 day ago
A recent meta-analysis of low-carb diets and cardiovascular risk factors found, predictably, that low carb diets decrease triglycerides (TG), increase HDL, and - significantly, on average, but not consistently, and only by a small amount - elevate LDL. The authors argued that this was not evidence of cardiovascular safety. "Low-carbohydrate diets increase LDL-cholesterol, and thereby indicate increased risk of CVD." Other cardiologists disputed this (including Axel F. Sigurðsson of the Doc's Opinion blog), citing evidence that TG and HDL are better markers of cardiovascular health t... more »

No, don’t free Anjem Choudary

Peter Cresswell at Not PC - 1 day ago
*[image: Arsehole2]* *Free Anjem Choudary? No, let’s not.* Here’s how not to defend free speech: by defending the jailing of “Islamist hothead” Anjen Choudhary – that “Bin Laden without the balls.” Spiked’s Brendan O’Neill, now on a tour of Australia and often quoted here, argues that “he’s repulsive, but he shouldn’t be sent to prison.” *What Choudhary dreams of doing — smashing freedom of thought and demanding conformity to his ideology — is done by the British state to him. In seeking to solve the Choudary problem, we become like Choudary:.* This is errant nonsense. Yes,... more »

*“Learning from the Big Picture: Cycle of Life”* by Madisyn Taylor, The DailyOM “While we are on earth we are all human beings in different phases of our lives and soul development. As we walk through the world, the people we encounter appear so different from one another. We see babies, old men, pregnant women, and teenaged boys. We know couples on the verge of marriage and lonely widows. We interact with toddlers and the terminally ill. As different as each person seems, they are all living the human experience. They are just at different places in the cycle that begins with birth... more »

*“We Are The Revolution”* by Paulo Coelho “My literature is totally committed with a new political attitude– human beings in search of their own identity. We are the revolution taking place. We are responsible for the world in every sense– political, social, moral. We are responsible for the planet. We are responsible for the unemployed. Of course, we can blame the banks, the disaster that irresponsible people created in the financial system, the political repression, the inability of the Govts. to hear what people have to say. But this will not help the world to become a better pl... more »

New Tesla Battery Provides Ludicrous Acceleration For Model S

Edmondo Burr at Your News Wire - 1 day ago
Tesla Motors has created an electric automobile that can accelerate nearly as fast as a LaFerrari or a Porsche 918 Spyder. Tesla’s model S P100D with ‘Ludicrous mode’ is the third fastest accelerating production car ever produced. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, thanks to a new battery pack, making it the quickest production car in the world. CNN Money reports: To be fair, the Porsche 918 Spyder and the LaFerrari are both capable of that acceleration. But both of those cars were “limited run, million dollar vehicles” that can no longer be bought new, Tesla said in a ... more »

*UPDATE* I had my surgical procedure today and it was as bad as I thought it was going to be. I went to a good public hospital so I was treated as well as they reasonably could in the circumstances.I ended up with a piece the size of a quarter chopped out of my right cheek near my nose. Fortunately my plastic surgeon is brilliant and managed to put my face back together again. I am now out of hospital but am experiencing some pain and discomfort. So I would not be clear enough in mind to attempt much in the way of blogging today
