*HAVANA - Colombia's Marxist-led FARC guerrillas threatened Thursday to end
a unilateral truce that has been in place since December unless the
government of President Juan Manuel Santos called off military attacks on
rebel positions.The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia called its truce
at Christmastime, and Santos responded March 10 by announcing Colombia's
armed forces would halt aerial bombing raids for one month, saying the
reprieve could be extended if the FARC continued its cease-fire.*

ship's catapults and its arresting gear, which will receive intensive

Russia delivers nuclear threat to Denmark

ratcheted up a notch on Saturday.
Russia’s ambassador to Denmark, Mikhail Vanin, wrote in an opinion piece
published by Jyllands-Posten that Denmark has made itself a target of a
potential nuclear attack by joining Nato’s missile defence system.
“I don’t think the Danes fully understand the consequences of what will
happen if Denmark joins the American-controlled missile defence. If it
happens, Danish war ships will become targets for Russian atomic missiles,”

Fears Russian spy submarine threatened fishing vessell off Western Isles

a Russian submarine snagged a fishing boat’s gear and dragged the vessel
across the sea.
Skipper Angus Macleod said he and his four crew were “extremely lucky” in
the incident after his net was repeatedly pulled in front of his 62ft
trawler.
The 46-year-old father-of-two has now lodged incident reports with both the
Maritime and Coastguard Agency and the Marine Accident Investigation Branch.
