The War On Preppers: Obama Bans Ammo For The Most Popular Rifle In America

Mars Daniels at GLOBAL POLITICAL AWAKENING - 1 hour ago
Michael Snyder Because he can’t get Congress to approve the things that he wants to do, Barack Obama has apparently decided to rule by decree for the rest of his time in the White House. One of Obama’s latest moves is to try to ban some of the most popular ammunition for the most popular rifle in America. Previously, the Obama administration attempted unsuccessfully to ban the AR-15. That didn’t work, so now Obama is going after the ammunition. This is yet another example of the war on preppers that is going on all over the nation. Whether you are a gun owner or not, this assa... more »

Reading the Greek Deal Correctly ( What Dodd-Frank Didn’t Fix:   The Worst Conflicts on Wall Street)

One of the most cogent discussions of what really happened in the Greek deal appears below. The commenters are among the best I've seen yet. And don't miss the news on the "real" conflicted insiders in our financial demise in the second essay. Margaret Thatcher called the creation of the EURO a huge mistake and one that would lead to the reunification of German power that she was against.

Let everyone out in the morning and gather duck eggs. Check food and drinking water and replace as needed. Later in the day, gather chicken eggs and wash any (mainly duck) eggs that got dirty, then put away in the cooler. Clean out and refill the duck pools twice a week. Replace the bedding as needed, hauling the enriched straw to the compost heap. Just after dark, close everybody in. The young man often does the duck ... more »

Wearing a hijab bars litigant from court

James C Morton at Morton's Musings - 3 hours ago
In truly bizarre story (see link below) a Quebec judge refused to hear a woman wearing a hijab. The judge cited Article 13 of the regulations of the Court of Quebec which says "Any person appearing before the court must be suitably dressed". The judge said that rules had to apply equally and no one would be allowed to wear a headscarf in Court. "In my opinion, you are not suitably dressed," Judge Eliana Marengo told Rania El-Alloul. "Decorum is important. Hats and sunglasses, for example, are not allowed, and I don't see why scarves on the head would be. The same rules need to b... more »

You may have missed it. But, recently, the Harper government pulled funding for the Palestinian organization, MIFTAH, which is headed by Hanan Ashrawi. Paul Adams provides some context: For more than twenty years, Hanan Ashrawi, an ethnic Christian and a moderate, has been a prominent Palestinian leader. In 2006 she was elected to the Palestinian parliament as a member of the Third Way, an almost laughably small party which has tried to provide a democratic, centrist alternative to the corruption of Fateh and the violent Islamism of Hamas — the two dominant Palestinian political ... more »

Inequality 22: Ten Men Eating Equally but Paying Unequally

Should governments tax the rich more? This photo I got from the web. High inequality, right? This can mean many things, like: 1. The poor living on the left have jobs, direct or indirect, from the people who built and live/work on those beautiful condo buildings on the right. 2. People on the left were not there before. No one lived there. Until constructions on the right started, and people from rural areas or from other communities started moving to the community on the left. Below is a good parable pf ten men. Here Paul Craig Roberts recalls how Ronald Reagan was perhaps the only American President of the 21st century to avoid war rather than start one or continue one instigated by his predecessor. The war he stopped would have been nuclear, and he accomplished this by respecting the Russian leaders rather than vilifying them. Now the U.S. government at all levels, together with the despicable mainstream media and right-wing think tanks, are lying about Russia’s actions and intentions, which in truth have been accommodating, promoting peace, and resisting sending the Russian Army into the eastern Russian-speaking provinces of Ukraine to protect them from the blood thirsty Neo Nazis currently serving as Ukraine’s shock troops. In PCR’s present post, he excoriates American intellectuals who have published supposed expert opinions in formerly respected journals, which are not merely lies but damned lies about Russia today.

Alone among friends and associates, we will keep Lent. So neglected is Lent that even Google has forgotten about it. When we did a search it proposed "lentil soup." Lent is meant to rehearse the 40 days and nights that Jesus spent fasting in the desert before going public. We remember the lean days with prayer, meditation and self-denial. Haaretz : Israel's Very Own Mafiosi

The car bomb that killed a Jaffa man linked to a local crime family passed almost unnoticed last week, as the tragedy of the three youths kidnapped in the West Bank unfolded. One could think that the country was justifiably distracted, had it not reacted with similar indifference to much of the brazen gang warfare Israel is experiencing. In the last year there have been dozens of bombings and gangland shootings, which have largely stumped police and attracted little interest from the media and politicians. Even the February murder of Tha’ar Lala, 26 – shot by gunmen while drivi... more »

*An Engineering Student Reports Visiting A Job Fair With Almost No White Male Engineers* *From: An Anonymous Engineering Student [Email him]* I recently attended a graduate student engineering career fair on my college campus, and felt like sharing some of my observations. The event was a typical career fair—employers had booths and tables set up where future graduates could provide resumes and get face-time with prospective employers. Several prestigious companies were at the event, and were looking to hire people with doctorates in engineering. Starting pay for jobs at these co... more »

*New article hailed as "proof" of climate change* *It does support the notion that CO2 has some effect but how much? The answer to that lies in the term "incredibly precise" below. They had to use research instrumentation and methods that could detect incredibly small changes. And that the effects of CO2 are incredibly small is just what skeptics have been saying! The work vindicates skeptics, if anything. Beware of the sentence below "This increase is about ten percent of the trend from all sources of infrared energy". It does NOT say "This increase is about ten percen... more »

I can’t even remember what a day with energy feels like. Before receiving the HPV vaccine at 14, I was an active, mostly healthy child. Yet, the defence forces are critically short of arms, and men and women at arms. The army, navy and air force are short of officers by 17% (7,989), 17% (1,499) and 3% (357) respectively, according to latest data tabled in the Lok Sabha. Consider the arms deficits in the three services: Read more

Trident question comes to the surface

[image: Vanguard SSBN]The loch at Faslane is very calm on a beautiful spring-like day, seagulls wheel above the jetty and its short, white radar tower. Beneath the still waters, I presume, lurks some of Britain's ageing nuclear deterrent. The future of Trident may not be much of an issue in the election, but it will be one of the most important, and expensive, decisions the new government makes. And it could be a vital issue in any negotiations if there is a hung Parliament. Read more

Thales predicts rebound after DCNS losses hit 2014 profit

[image: Thales logo]France's Thales posted lower full-year profit on Thursday after cost overruns on military submarines at its DCNS naval subsidiary but predicted a return to profitability this year as the unit rights itself. Europe's largest defence electronics group said operating profit fell 3 percent to 985 million euros ($1.12 billion) after problems on the Barracuda nuclear submarine programme pushed the contribution from its 35 percent stake in shipyard DCNS sharply into the red. Excluding DCNS, operating income rose 13 percent to 1.102 billion euros, as sales rose 2 percen... more »

Navy will consider accelerating Virginia-class sub enhancement

Ko Savonije at Naval Open Source INTelligence - 21 hours ago
[image: Virginia class SSN]Navy officials have said they will consider moving up the date for the start of a new Virginia-class submarine program that would allow the boats to carry more firepower. About 20 Virginia-class submarines, built jointly by Electric Boat in Groton and Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia, would have their hulls lengthened by about 70 feet to accommodate the so-called Virginia Payload Module, allowing the subs to carry 28 more Tomahawk cruise missiles than the Virginia class subs under construction now. Submarine selection process a disaster in the making

Ko Savonije at Naval Open Source INTelligence - 21 hours ago
[image: Collins class SSK]The process to select our new submarines announced on Friday by the Defence Minister is completely inadequate. If it sticks to it, the government will choose our new submarines without having nearly enough information to make the decision properly. And it will be setting up our biggest defence procurement disaster ever. That is because the three contenders – Japan, Germany and France – have been given only 10 months to design the boat, decide how and where to build it, and come up with a price. These are all immensely complex tasks, and 10 months is simpl... more »

An Observation Regarding a Mental Health Hack.

*An Observation Regarding Mental Health* I had a coffee yesterday with an informant in which he made a remarkable observation. It applies immediately to a number of putative therapies for mental issues. What it comes down to is understanding the clear separation between our cognitive and/or physical organic mind which can be negatively affected by mental illness and our sub subconscious or supra mind or alternatively our physical but independent light body mind which has information density several orders of magnitude greater than out physical organic mind. Malaysia Airlines Flight 370: Pilot Examines Hijacking and Fire Theories

This begs the question of whether the climb to 45,000 feet happened. It does explain the way in which the craft could come down to 23,000 feet. I do think we are looking at a fire and we are looking at mistakes been made in terms of handling the fire. However it did lead to application of the FLITCH system and the crew been overcome and generally overwhelmed by what was happening. The plane then flew westward where it was spotted flying low and at 23,000 feet it would appear to be low and it was burning and trailing smoke. This sighting was long into its flight. It then... more »

Were the F-35 Plans Intentionally Leaked to the Chinese so They Could Build J-31 Fighter?

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 21 hours ago
It makes complete sense to feed the Chinese military corrupted data. You know they are trying and better yet you know who is trying. This makes it easy to set them up with the false data. On top of all that, i do not think that the F 35 will ever be seriously deployed. It is already both obsolete and now the wrong technology. What is needed is a similar platform missing all that life support and with a more rugged airframe able to handle ten g turns. The costs will drop dramatically and you have an unbeatable bird flown as a drone. Drone technology is good enough. Ad... more »

Setting a Trap for China’s Corrupt Officials

Let it be said that the pigs had a great run. Now the new regime is applying a badly needed dose of reality to all cadres and taking out the top tier at least of the insanely greedy as a demonstration to the others. This also supplies ample cover to eliminate the bloody hands faction which was a true threat to internal stability and cleanses the body politic for a generation perhaps. Yet none of this is true reform but it is spring cleaning. In the meantime, they also are discovering just what is actually working out there. This means that all the ponzi schemes can be liq... more »

China submarines outnumber U.S. fleet: U.S. admiral

For instance, China had carried out three deploymen... more »
