Yes, a 'supertide'. I'll have to watch the waves on the shoreline of Morecambe Bay this weekend - at a safe distance. of course. Gluconeogenesis Drives Ketogenesis - role of the Nutritional Prometheus.

George Henderson at The High-fat Hep C Diet - 4 hours ago
In trying to explain the findings of Newburgh and Marsh*, and of Karl Petren, from 1923 that switching to a high fat, restricted protein, and very low carbohydrate diet - a ketogenic diet - suppresses diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) in diabetics without access to insulin, I can't help noticing that gluconeogenesis is a driver of ketogenesis. DKA is a dehydrating syndrome characterized by hyperglycaemia, due in large part to runaway gluconeogenesis, plus levels of ketone bodies, much higher than those seen in starvation or nutritional ketosis, which result in a lethal acidosis. And exces... more »

The purchase of long-range missiles will form part of a "national system for Turkey's defense" that's separate from NATO's network, Yilmaz said in a written response to a parliamentary question published by Anadolu Agency on Thursday. The prospect of the Chinese deal going ahead will dismay Turkey's U.S. and European allies, who have urged the country to adopt... more »

I think it was a decent way to deal with the real-world death of Carol Ann Susi who provided Ms Wolowitz with her voice. The departure of Ms Wolowitz abruptly solved a jealousy-ignited argument between Stewart and Howard revolving around the furniture from the Wolowitz house. Also, if you missed that, Penny learned that she's been getting tests from Amy who was comparing her intelligence to the intelligence of the chimps. Penny did prett... more »
