*With thanks to RIR* "Jeff joins us to talk about his third book, Guilt By Association -- How Deception and Self-Deceit Took America to War. He begins by explaining his personal awakening to the endorsed, systemic criminality going on in the background of politics. Jeff illustrates the US’s long-term relationship with the Israeli Zionist enclave that was recognized in 1948 during Truman’s presidency – a group responsible for expanding organized crime to a global scale behind the façade of a sovereign state" Didn't agree with every bit of it, but, it was still worth listening to!

[image: Holistic Living & Growing Vegetables]*Our late vegetable garden in 2014.*Are you starting to think about a vegetable garden? I am! We moved to our property in July of last year and even though it was late in the season, we planted a few rows of veggies. Our harvest was surprisingly good considering our late start. This year, I'm prepared! In January I started studying up on companion planting, planting zones, moon dates, and even designed our space. *"Zeno's Paradoxes"* by Joe Kissell "Do you ever have one of those days when you just can’t seem to get yourself moving? Or maybe, no matter how hard you try to get caught up, you always seem to lag behind? I have those kinds of days all the time—and so, apparently, did ancient Greek philosophers. One of them, Zeno of Elea, devised an ingenious set of philosophical statements that amount to “proof” that motion is impossible, despite all evidence to the contrary. These statements are known as Zeno’s Paradoxes (or sometimes, collectively, as Zeno’s Paradox), and they continue to vex...more »
* “Through Thick And Thin”* by Chet Raymo “You hear a lot about "thin places" these days, especially in the context of "Celtic spirituality." Thin places are geographical locales where the veil between this world and the otherworld is- well, thin. Porous, permeable. Places where you are more likely to encounter the Divine. Mostly our lives are circumscribed by the adamant materiality of the natural world. We are enclosed in a prison of "is-ness." But in thin places we need only open our hearts and the wall of Is-ness crumbles and the supernatural is revealed in all of its gauzy gr...more »

And that got me thinking about the decision to walk away from things you have committed to in the past. We live in a culture that promotes persistence. *"The Road to New Beginnings: Completion"* by Madisyn Taylor, The DailyOM "Just as new beginnings are important, so is honoring the experience of closure. Life is a collage of beginnings and endings that run together like still-wet paint. Yet before we can begin any new phase in life, we must sometimes first achieve closure to the current stage we are in. That’s because many of life’s experiences call for closure. Often, we cannot see the significance of an event or importance of a lesson until we have reached closure. Or, we may have completed a certain phase in life or path of le...more »
Fallout Will Change Food Habits Increased fallout in foods may force a change in diet habits. Foods high in nutrition also have high levels of radio-active contamination, Lillian Levy reports. In a proposed bill directed at legalizing both discrimination and harassment of transgendered people, Florida Representative Frank Artiles (R- Hell, er, I mean, Miami) has proposed a bill making it a crime for a person born of one sex to enter a public restroom designated for the other sex. The point, I believe is to maximize humiliation and embarrassment for both pre- and post-op transgendered citizens and tourists of Florida. The bill says: "Sex" means a person's biological sex, either male or female, at birth. For purposes of this paragraph, the term "male" means a person born as...more »

*MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2015Part 1—The Post limns Brian Williams:* Many lessons could be learned from the mess which surrounds Brian Williams. Needless to say, the mainstream press corps seems determined to *avoid* such lessons. Consider one part of the mammoth report in yesterday’s Washington Post. The report appeared above the fold on the front page of the Sunday Post. Inside the paper, it consumed the entirety of pages A12 and A13. The report included some spotty reporting about the various inaccurate tales Williams seems to have told down through the years. But right off the ba...more »
I have a code id by doze, and clogging is not conducive to blogging on this outrageously freezing (windchill is Minus 20) Presidents Day. In case anyone is out there, and wants to vent on anything at all, political, cultural, or nonsensical, have at it. Let's celebrate bottom-up democracy instead of George Washington's plump bottom on his horse. Iraq remains one of the most oil dependent countries in the world. Its 2015 budget, which was just ratified by the country’s president relies upon petroleum for 85% of its revenue. Unfortunately, neither the export mark set in that document or the price for Iraqi crude are likely to be met meaning that the government will be facing an even larger deficit than it expects and a greater financial crisis. January 2015 saw a drop in exports by Iraq. The country average 2.35 million barrels a day, down from 2.941 million in December. That was the lowest amount since 2.228 million in Ja...more »

A number of blogs have mentioned this letter to the Guardian.
