UN torture report condemns Canada for being ‘complicit’ in rights violations
Canadian officials also played a role in the ill-treatment of Omar Khadr at Guantanamo Bay, the report contends, criticizing government delays in approving the child soldier’s request to serve out his sentence in Canada.( Child soldiers are not to be assessed the same as older persons. His accusers recanted and the story makes no sense when you realize he was blinded at the time he was alleged to have been a combatant - in a home subjected to night assault. For that he was denied trial, held indefinitely and tortured. Just Us indeed. Harper ? Totally unconcerned.
There are words for people like that - all seriously denigrating. )

An inquiry headed by former Supreme Court judge Frank Iacobucci found Canadian officials had a hand in the men’s torture through the sharing of information with foreign intelligence and police agencies.
The report also raises the alarm about the fate of prisoners that the Canadian military transferred into Afghan custody during the recently concluded combat mission.
( That's an activity supposedly* punishable by death when it leads to torture - even by US agents. Just sayin'.
* See the Law file. Farce R Us. )
