DIY Harry Potter Makeup Brushes

Debra Hawkins at Housewife Eclectic - 51 minutes ago
I am Harry Potter obsessed. If I could redo my house in a combination of Doctor Who and Hogwarts I would be a happy girl. When I saw the Harry Potter makeup brushes floating around the internet, I fell in love. Before jumping to buy new brushes, I wanted to try making them myself and they were so fun. If you have made your own homemade wand before, these are really similar in style. The longer and skinnier the brush is the more wand like it will be, although I couldn't resist making wands out of all the styles! According to American psychologists, more and more people, especially children, are being labelled as ‘Indigo people’ – meaning they see the world in a very different way. The traits of Indigo people are similar to those often seen in ‘conspiracy theorists’ – meaning they question authority and have a naturally inquisitive nature. Learning-mind.com reports: Indigos are not a recent phenomenon, they have been arriving for decades so there are plenty of Indigo adults around, too. Read through the following signs to find out if you’re one of them. 1. You always need to know why Indi... more »

Study Reveals Eight Hour Sleep Cycle Is Unnatural

Sean Adl-Tabatabai at Your News Wire - 1 hour ago
Scientists have conducted a number of recent studies that suggest the traditional eight hour sleep pattern that humans have grown used is both unnatural and unhealthy. In 1992, a team of psychiatrists headed by Thomas Wehr performed an experiment where subjects were plunged into darkness for 14-hours every day for one month. By the fourth week, each subject had settled into a distinct sleeping pattern in which they slept for 4 hours, and then woke for 1-3 hours, and then slept for a another 4 hours. Truththeory.com reports: In another study Wehr also found that while awake for th... more »

Energy 80, Power outages in 2010

I originally wrote this on March 02, 2010, reposting to look back on some issues more than six years ago. ----------- *'Government failure' in energy* Recently, a number of power outages have re-occured in Metro Manila and the provinces. The usual explanation given by the government, the Department of Energy (DOE) in particular, is the "thin reserves" as there are not enough power supply while demand keeps rising every year. El Nino for instance, has been cited as a "cause" as many hydro-power plants could not function well due to low water level in many dams. A friend in facebook ... more »

Unlike most jurisdictions Nunavut was recognized as a result of negotiation and a statute. The Nunavut Land Claims Agreement (NLCA) created Nunavut as jurisdiction and recognized the right of the Inuit of Nunavut to self-government and a separate territory. Keith Chester This week I interviewed Keith Chester who literally wrote the book on the Foo Fighters called *Strange Company*. These were things, balls of light, maybe craft that harassed pilots as it turned out, on both sides of the Second World War. The Allied high command were so concerned with these reports that they created four separate investigations in their attempts to find out what was being seen and to learn if this was some sort of Axis weapons system that would change the course of the air war. There was one thing that became clear and underscored something that I have ... more »

American Exceptionalism Has No Place In The World

Americans can’t be the policemen of the world, not with Russia and China around. Americans have to realize that what lies beyond the horizon is not the ‘wild west’ but the ‘old world’ from which the Pilgrims escaped. American exceptionalism and the drive toward a unipolar world does not fare well with the old world. Countries like Russia and China have seen it all before. Empires that once ruled the world have come and gone. The new replaces the old, which was once new. The tyranny of exceptionalism is what led people to flee the old world for the new in America. State Of The Race: Rubio vs Murphy-- Lazy Pundit Jonathan Chait Gets It All Wrong

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 16 hours ago
The Brits want us to see this film before we vote. He's a really repressible, profoundly ignorant man. And so are his supporters. Monday I watched the Florida Senate debate between Republican incumbent Marco Rubio, a slick career politician with big ambitions, and Patrick Murphy, surely one of the stupidest and worthless men to have ever served in Congress and recently voted among the least effective members of Congress. Rubio was a far better debater and a somewhat more appealing candidate. Murphy looked like he would start crying when Rubio hit him with accusations he had no an... more »

Last night proved beyond a doubt that Donald Trump has his foot to the floor and is headed to the wall. He has offended women mightily. Last night's vow to repeal Roe v. Wade will add to the Access Hollywood debacle. But, along with women, he's also mobilized Latinos and African Americans against him. E.J. Dionne writes: The states on Clinton's new target list include Arizona and, of all places, Texas. In Nevada, the polling is mixed, though Clinton seems to have gained ground. A Monmouth University Poll released Tuesday put Clinton ahead of Trump here by seven points. Trump was u... more »

One of the most magical moments in Harry Potter for me was when he first learned to play Quidditch. Learning about the Quaffle, the Bludgers and that little Golden Snitch really made the Wizarding World that extra bit of fun. *[image: (Image: Pixabay; Edited: JR / TO)]* What i am really struck with is that policing is failing to resolve what is a rising culture of violence and is in fact acting as a feedback resonator. Add in the massive prison system and we have a natural cycle of violence mirroring violence for the sake of violence. Underlying all of this is the missing natural community and poverty. I see the three key issues mentioned and those specific issues are naturally resolved with a natural community. Such a community would involve no more than 150 adults.
