Pakistan accuses 'CIA-doctor' of treason The doctor is accused of running a vaccination programme for the CIA that was designed to help track down bin Laden. The vaccination ruse has been widely criticised by aid agencies, which have said it could harm legitimate immunisation programmes in Pakistan.

Ex-AEC chief cautions against scrapping Kudankulam project
He said unlike Jaitapur in Maharashtra (where also there are protests against the nuclear plan), where they are yet to be built, in Kudankulam one reactor is nearly ready to start and another is likely to start next year.
Noting that huge investment has gone in to build Kudankulam project, he said: "We can’t make investment and allow things to remain idle." "After all, these are high investment facilities. If you don’t start running them when they are ready to go, (you are) carrying a big unproductive investment. So, it’s something that we should be concerned about. It’s the country’s money. We should be concerned."
Srinivasan agreed that nuclear power is "inevitable" for India and it has no other option. India is facing shortage of coal even to run coal-fired (thermal) stations and it’s beginning to import coal, which is two-three times more expensive than the one available in the domestic market.
"That again will push up electricity cost.Gas prices are linked to petroleum price, which is also going up," he said, adding, cost of solar and wind power is high.
He expressed hope that the protests against the Kudankulam project would blow over.
"The first unit is ready to start in a few weeks," Srinivasan said. "There is a lot of shortage of electricity in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and everywhere, and this (the project) would be a great boon.We hope that in the next few days, some degree of sense will return and the people can be satisfied."
( For a sense of what some are feeling about this, take a look at the first comment linking 'bird flu' to U.S. agencies and subversion - psyops. Now think about the history of official U.S. pronouncements about nuclear power projects in Iraq, Iran and North Korea. CASMII lists will be a good start, detailing nuclear blackmail. So Russia is constrained in marketing numbers of reactors. Heck - so are we.)
Vaccines - the deadly 'cure'
Vaccination - The Hidden Truth
This is the shocking but extremely informative video documentary Vaccination - The Hidden Truth (1998) where fifteen people, including Dr. Viera Scheibner (a PhD researcher), five medical doctors, and other researchers, reveal what is really going on in relation to illness and vaccines. Ironically, the important facts come from orthodox medicine's own peer-reviewed research. With so much government and medical promotion of vaccination for prevention of disease, the video is clearly devoted to presenting the other side of the issue that parents and others are not being told. The result is a damning account of the ineffectiveness of vaccines and their often harmful effects.

Virologist and Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Maiduguri, Prof. Salisu Baba has cautioned the federal government against adopting the policy of vaccination against bird flu.
He said weekend in Abuja, that the use of polyvalent inactivated vaccines has been suggested in some rare cases, but such vaccines were too expensive and ineffective.
In an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), he said vaccination should be discouraged.
He said the possibility of re-assortment of vaccines virus strains with the circulating wild strains, could result in emergence of a new strain which might be pathogenic for non immune birds.

Republicans Anti-Food Safety
You may not have heard of this story. I know I hadn't, but a Listeria bacterial outbreak in cantaloupe grown in Colorado has killed 21 people, and made 109 sick according to the latest figures released by Centers for Disease Control. More deaths are possible: ....A 2010 law increased the FDA's authority to regulate and shut down any food related business that failed to respond adequately to FDA warnings that the business' practices were unsafe. Yet Republicans in Congress have worked tirelessly to cut funding to implement that law. Follow me below the fold, to understand what is at stake for the lives and health of Americans and the cost to our economy from a compromised food supply.
Sometimes the 'problem' is not 'regulation'...but lobbying. By that I mean the FDA and medical agencies have been lobbied by the drug lords forever. The inability to institute 'Single-Payer' health insurance stands as testimony to the institutional proliferation of ripoff schemes.

But the real problems are the 'compromised immune systems' which cannot handle the natural stresses of nature. One idea would be to note the thrust of Big Ag is to market products which are 'safe' by killing content...including vitamins, amino acids and more. So we have malnutrition in the midst of plenty. Raw milk advocates will give you an earful on that.
Another would be the proliferation of substances which are toxic in nature. Household cleaners are regulated...in Europe. In North America we market them as aerosols to rid ourselves of stinks !
Over vaccination is way down the list : and attacked by a disinformation campaign on the omnipresent Denier meme attacking right-wingers.
Can't do anything for politicized 'science' I'm afraid. Not that I was any different - having read Microbe Hunters as a teenager and been impressed with the risks of research...and the cautions necessary when dealing with agents of our destruction.
But perhaps the worst nonsense resulted from throwing away the advice to build robust bodies and depend on the beneficence of 'science' to save us from our follies. Um. I've researched the matter - so you know where to find my hints - but nothing is so convincing as a good Search. Pasteurization and Germ Theory. Have fun !

Topeka, Kan., considers legalizing domestic violence
( Actually, I grew up in such a world. My grandfather - and I'm one myself now - was a policeman who noted "Law that is unenforceable is bad law." He was referring specifically to 'domestics'. When I consider he died when I was four, I have to give my head a shake at the handful I must have been as a child.
As for me, I'll look at Charles Dickens' expose on the British workhouse system. The point ? State ignores its abysmal record on child rearing - orphanages were fought for well over 150 years after the newspaper serial as well as centuries before - to claim kids as 'wards of the state'...and then privatize operations in the name of fiscal responsibility...mocking their 'superior ethics'.
At least one orphan disagrees vehemently.
Racketeering is only a crime when the state decides to participate in the market. Ditto for drug marketing.)

Radley Balko
if a couple in the U.S. were to plan to have their wedding in Amsterdam and distribute marijuana to those attending, they would be guilty of a federal crime.
Similarly, doctors or academics who advised their counterparts overseas on such things as needle exchange programs, the establishment of medical marijuana dispensaries, or drug decriminalization programs could be charged with violations of the law. It could even apply to someone advising a friend on where to buy cold medicine in another country if it would require showing ID to purchase that same medicine in the United States.Pass It On
