Do Politicians Talk Down To Their Audiences?
It seems so long ago that we started discussing how Trump's 3rd or 4th grade vocabulary has worked so well for him in the Republican primary. He wasn't kidding when he said "We love the poorly educated." His simple language resonated with the Republican Party masses. The other day, Grammarly came out with a study exploring how politicians talk and how voters respond. They went back into political history to analyze how presidential candidates have communicated with the electorate and have come to the conclusion that "over time, politicians have been simplifying their language by s... more »
The forgotten child soldiers recruited by Kurdish militants in Turkey and Syria
Not forgotten here. Not forgotten by myself or my readers. Conveniently forgotten by all the Kurdish militant cheerleaders in the western media. Main stream and the so called alternatives. Why Is The Is The Secret For Russian President Putin's Survival?
Russian President Putin. TASS *Andrei Kolesnikov, Project Syndicate:* *The Secret of Putin’s Survival* MOSCOW – Two years ago, a long process of growing authoritarianism and isolationism under President Vladimir Putin culminated in Russia’s annexation of Crimea. But even as much of the international community condemned the move, Russians seemed to welcome it. Indeed, the peninsula’s “return” to Russian control had a profound effect on public sentiment – one that seems to have strengthened Putin’s grip on power, even as Russia faces deepening political and economic challenges. Human Destiny
What i am presenting here is a completely different perspective regarding our Human destiny. All our teachings, including our spiritual lore has presented us with a fairly simple framework. We are conceived physically, this engenders a soul, and then we are born. We grow to maturity, age and ultimately die releasing said soul. Ample controversy exists regarding transmigration and reincarnation and of the true existence of spirit. This perspective is largely universal except perhaps those who commune more easily with spirit and thus assume such may be significant as well. Eve... more »
Monetizing the Debt Would Create Hyperinflation. Let's Not.
What is so wrong in this argument is the assumption that we would do it all in a single day. Why? What we want to do is to monetize five percent per year and stay ahead of new debt in the process. Thus we would establish a ceiling on the debt issued and reduce it through monetization or longer term paper at the rate of five percent per year. Low interest rates are present today and they are seriously deflationary themselves. Several years of this should have a three to six percent world sponging up all the surplus cash coming into the system. Add the transference of credit gra... more »
Billions of Pounds of Cheese are about to go to Waste
This is the easiest problem in the world to actually fix. The economics will need to be sorted out properly but what we do is have the surplus declared surplus and then directly supply it to all families on welfare at the rate of three to five kilos per month. If we presume fifty million needy families, that works out to at least 150,000,000 kilos per month or 150,000 tons We apparently have a million ton surplus to deal with and this means that in one year the entire surplus will have been worked off. Better that all these are the actual families suffering f...more »

Oh, and it's a microcosm for much of what's wrong with electoral politics: corruption and apathy. The Myth of Human Supremacy
When an unlucky person has been swept away by the brainwashing of a wacko cult, concerned friends or family members sometimes seek the assistance of a skilled deprogrammer to exorcize the demons. It’s a painful process. The scrambled soul is blasted with a fire-hose of strong rational arguments, hour after hour, hammering away at the many contradictions in the cult’s beliefs. Ideally, the shining power of truth blasts away the illusions, and opens the door to healing. I was reminded of this while reading Derrick Jensen’s book, *The Myth of Human Supremacy*. Why I Switched from a Silhouette to a Cricut Explore Air
Over the years, I have gone through six different crafting machines. My first machine was an older Cricut. Then, longing to be able to cut all of the geeky images I wanted, I tried out a Silhouette. I loved the updated abilities and was really happy, until I used a Cricut Explore for the first time. It did all of the things I had no idea I wanted. I could design with the click of a button, and I could still buy projects if I wanted something easy, but I could upload and make all the Doctor Who things I wanted. I switched just over a year ago after using a friend's machine and knowi... more »

The Unique Risks Of GM Crops: Science Trumps PR, Fraud And Smear Campaigns
CounterPunch, Countercurrents, RINF, Global Research Don't take free content on the web for granted. Please read *this* The purpose of this piece is to draw readers’ attention to an important chapter from a document by Aruna Rodrigues that discusses the unique risks associated with GM crops. Contrary to what supporters of GM often claim, it shows that criticisms of this technology are based on credible concerns, sound logic and solid science. However, some background information and context might first be useful to indicate that, while critics rely on science, the pro-GMO lobby is... more »

Chasing Notes... Sort Of...
Although this isn’t actually about chasing footnotes, it sort of began that way. I was trying to follow up on a comment about the Mantell crash and why it had happened. Nearly twenty years ago or so, I had a thought of creating a sort of peer review of UFO information using the Internet as the publishing vehicle as well as a way of getting that peer review. To that end, I selected the Mantell case because there was so much bad information about it out there, from the idea that he was an experienced fighter pilot and ace to the claim that he had seen some creatures inside the craft or... more »

What Hillary Deserves
As a long-term leader of the Senate Intelligence Committee and one of the staunchest defenders of the often-rogue CIA, Dianne Feinstein of California certainly knows the value of elite secrecy. And she thinks that her sister in extreme wealth, extreme power politics and extreme secrecy is getting a bum rap over that withering State Department Inspector General's report, which exposed Hillary Clinton's pathological need for secrecy and corresponding pathological need to lie. According to Feinstein, Hillary has already admitted that mistakes were made, and so it's time to move beyond ... more »

Unearthly Adventure Comics #253: The RetConQuest Part 2
With a cover-date of April 1958 and on newsstands in February of 1958, Unearthly Adventure Comics #253 concluded the tale of the Unwanted's first battle against the evil Tempus Khan. With some hand waving, the Cardiff Giant and Atomizer were not present in this issue. Yuyu, an ancient Egyptian priest of Osiris was and was "retconned" to have always been part of the team, supposedly due to the acts of the heroes in the previous issue. With his addition, the first lineup of the Unwanted was established, though not all of them were featured in every issue. Though the comic had intended... more »

CDC Forced To Admit They Hid Data Linking Vaccines To Autism
A PhD scientist has forced the CDC to admit that they knew a key ingredient found in most vaccines significantly increased the risk of autism in those who took it. Information obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request filed by a PhD scientist working with two members of Congress has forced the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to release documents that show statistically significant risks of autism associated with thimerosal, a common preservative used in vaccines. The CDC has been denying knowledge of the link between thimerosal and autism since the late 90s. ...more »
Member Of Congress: Manipulating ‘Naive, Self-Absorbed Sheep’ Is Easy
An anonymous member of Congress has published a tell-all book that lifts the lid on corruption in the political system, the arrogance of the elite, and the gullibility of the American public. With public trust in the institutions that govern us hitting an all time low according to recent polls, it is no surprise quotations such as ... more »
