How China Would Try To Win a War Against America in Asia

James Holmes at The National Interest - 22 hours ago
*James Holmes* *Security, * Not what you think. *That’s systems-destruction warfare to a tee, isn’t it? If indeed PLA strategists and their political overseers are serious about implementing the concept—and there’s little reason to doubt them—then their writings open a window into their thinking that could help China’s foes derive methods and hardware for hardening their own systems-of-systems while assailing PLA metasystems. Revisiting Western engineers’ musings about complex systems could bestow strategic advantage on allied forces in future contingencies—repaying the effort.... more »

American “bubbleheads,” the affectionate nickname for undersea sailors, raided Japanese sea routes in order to starve industry and deployed forces of matériel. They succeeded. The U.S. Navy's Real Problem

Where We're Headed: The Great Cull Awaits

dr.samizdat1618@gmail.com at Event Horizon Chronicle - 1 day ago
I fell asleep last night only to have a very sobering, deep dream within minutes. I abruptly found myself in a pitched battle between two forces of about 100 men each. They were in an all-out, desperate firefight for control of a position that the attacking group badly wanted to take, and that the defending force was equally determined to hold. Not until the top of a nearby earthen mound opened up, and a massive nuclear missile rose up from its underground silo with a thunderous roar and blasted away into the sky trailing fire and smoke, did I understand what the battle was about.... more »

*Robert E. Kelly* *Security, * Would he really do it? And would Moon actually welcome it? It is now pretty widely accepted that the United States and South Korea are drifting apart on the central security issues of Northeast Asia.
